Adam Haseley News

Adam Haseley Records Four Hits Sunday

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Adam Haseley went 4-for-6 with and RBI and two runs scored in a loss to the Marlins Sunday. Haseley earned his first start of the season after Roman Quinn started the first two games in center field. Haseley made his case to keep the job with a big game out of the leadoff spot. Despite the big game, Haseley's fantasy value is limited to deeper leagues as he will split playing time with Quinn and bat towards the bottom of the order when he starts.

Adam Haseley Leading Off For Phillies Sunday

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Adam Haseley will play center field and bat leadoff on Sunday vs Marlins starter Jose Urena. Roman Quinn earned the first two starts of the season in center after the two were battling for the starting job before the season, but was just 1-for-7 in the two games. Today Haseley will get his shot and have the platoon advantage vs the righty Urana. Haseley shouldn't be expected to lead off every time he plays, regular leadoff hitter Andrew McCutchen is resting Sunday, but Haseley could be a good DFS play for today at least atop a strong Phillies lineup.

Adam Haseley Struggling This Spring

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Adam Haseley is struggling so far this spring as he competes for the starting center field job. The second-year outfielder is just 3-for-21 with nine strikeouts and manager Joe Girardi was non-committal on Haseley winning the job, which Haseley was considered the favorite for entering camp. Haseley's struggles have opened the door for speedster Roman Quinn, who is finally healthy after three separate stints on the injured list last season. Quinn isn't the hitter Haseley is, but plays great defense and has opened eyes this camp with his speed. Whoever wins the job will have late-round appeal in deeper leagues, but shouldn't be considered starting-caliber players in 12-team mixed leagues and smaller.
