Bryan De La Cruz News
Miami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz has been heating up at the plate over the last week or so. On Wednesday, De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during the 3-1 loss to the San Francisco Giants. The 27-year-old is currently on a six-game hitting streak. During that span, De La Cruz has posted three multi-hit games. Fantasy managers should make sure to keep him in their lineups while he's hot at the plate.
Miami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz tallied his first three-hit game of the season in the team's 10-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. De La Cruz moved down in the order for Sunday's game, hitting seventh, after batting third through fifth in every game before that. However, the move down in the order helped the 27-year-old. He singled in his first two at-bats before starting off the eighth inning with a single. De La Cruz is a sneaky fantasy option moving forward, and someone fantasy managers should keep an eye on. He has a hit in nine of 10 games to begin the 2024 campaign.
Miami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz is off to a solid start this spring as he look to bounce back from what was, overall, a down season at the plate. The 27-year-old is 4-for-12 (.333) with a pair of doubles and five RBI across 12 trips to the plate to begin his Grapefruit League action. In his age-26 season, De La Cruz hit .257 with 19 home runs and 78 RBI, alongside a .715 OPS, across 153 games played in 2023, production that graded out 8% inferior to the league average, as per his 92 wRC+. However, his .330 xwOBA was well above his .309 wOBA and he generally posted strong Statcast metrics. ATC projects 20 home runs and 69 RBI for De La Cruz in the 2024 season, making him a decent, yet unspectacular fantasy asset.

Miami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz played his first full season in the majors in 2023 and, in most circles, he probably exceeded expectations. The 27-year-old accrued a .257-19-78-60-4 line with a .309 WOBA and 92 wRC+ in 626 PA. Digging deeper though, it appears much of his production came in the first half of the season, tallying a .279-10-49-40-3 line with a .326 WOBA and 103 wRC+ compared to a .228-9-29-20-1 line with a .285 WOBA and 76 wRC+ in the second half. Perhaps it was the season-long grind or pitchers exploiting his weaknesses, or maybe it was a bit of both, but hopefully he countered and made strides in the offseason. Contact%, K%, and other peripherals were mostly average in 2023, but ATC projections see a slight improvement in some of his numbers with a .266-20-69-63-4 line with a .324 WOBA and 102 wRC+. That is projected over 562 plate appearances though, so if he can manage closer to the 626 PA he saw last season, then the counting stats should be even higher, leaving some upside for fantasy managers. RotoBaller ranks the righty at 240 overall, well ahead of his NFBC ADP of 281.
