New York Mets outfielder Cameron Maybin continued his season of attrition Thursday afternoon against the Rockies, extending his hitless streak to 26 at-bats to start his Mets career. That 26-game streak ties the Mets record for most hitless at-bats to start a tenure with the club. Fantasy managers may have seen Maybin as a solid option for steals, given the amount of playing time available with the club at the moment, but unfortunately, he hasn't had much opportunity to run. Maybin deserved better today, with two hard-hit balls, but still fantasy managers should now realize there are better options out there in all formats.

Until he gets called up and shows that he can still hit though, managers can safely leave him on the waiver-wire.

Bryant got back into the lineup Tuesday after an extended absence, but wound up taking six at-bats with Wednesday likely just a maintenance day as he continues to battle a wrist ailment. His next chance to return to the mix comes Thursday versus Pittsburgh and right JT Brubaker.

Whereas Maybin was likely to see playing time down the stretch with the Tigers, hes likely more of a platoon piece for the Cubs, which severely limits his fantasy intrigue in any format.

Having been sidelined since July 30 due to a strained right quad, Maybin has five hits in his first six games, but also six strikeouts.
