Kris Bryant News
Colorado Rockies third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant (back) went 1-for-3 with a single in his first minor league rehab start on Tuesday with Triple-A Albuquerque. Bryant played left field and is scheduled to start again for Albuquerque on Wednesday. If all goes well, he will return to Denver and be in uniform for the start of a weekend series against the New York Mets on Friday. In 15 games before landing on the injured list with a back strain on April 29, Bryant was hitting .281/.338/.351 with no home runs, four RBI and 11 runs scored in 65 plate appearances. Fantasy managers will be hoping that the 30-year-old slugger can rediscover his power stroke upon his return to the Rockies lineup this weekend.
Colorado Rockies outfielder Kris Bryant (back) is scheduled to play two rehab games with the Albuquerque Isotopes at Triple-A on Tuesday and Wednesday. If all goes well, there's a chance he could rejoin the Rockies after that for the team's weekend series against the New York Mets. Bryant has been out since late April due to a back injury. He played in 15 games prior to the injury and slashed .281/.338/.351 with four RBI and 11 runs. He has yet to hit his first home run in a Rockies jersey.
Colorado Rockies third baseman Kris Bryant (back) took a batting practice session on Friday. He received a cortisone injection on Monday, so it sounds like Bryant is making progress. The 30-year-old has been sidelined since April 25, so he is expected to need a minor league rehab assignment. The Rockies are expected to re-evaluate Bryant on Sunday and decide their next step after that.

Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant was one of several offensive players in the Windy City's NL club to suffer a miserable 2020. The former MVP fell to a career-low .203/.293/.351 slash line and went deep just four times across 131 at-bats. It was thought that a move to the leadoff spot would boost his value, increasing his run-scoring potential. Instead, Bryant hit a woeful .177 from the top of the lineup. A stint on the injured list made an already-short season even shorter, offering no chance for Bryant to get going. Putting 2020 in the rearview, as most of us wish to do, Bryant should remain a fixture in the heart of the order for the Cubs. It's fair to ask how long, though. Bryant will be a free agent after the season and the Cubs appear ready to rebuild. It would make sense to move on from a player who, at 29, may have his best days behind him. Bryant's barrel rate has declined for five straight seasons, down to 5.5% in 2020 (31st percentile). Meanwhile, his walk rate is also free-falling while his K-rate has climbed to 27.2%. A change of scenery could invigorate Bryant and provide better team context but he also needs to stay healthy. No longer a top-100 fantasy player, Bryant is a fair value at his ADP of 132 in early NFBC drafts.
