Blas Castano Promoted to Majors
The Seattle Mariners are promoting right-handed pitching prospect Blas Castano to the major league roster. The 26-year-old has spent the past two seasons at the Triple-A level. Through the early part of the 2025 campaign, Castano has posted a 3.43 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP across 44 2/3 innings. He has been deployed primarily out of the rotation but has made three appearances out of the bullpen. Across this stint, he has struck out just 28 batters and served up 19 free passes. Last summer at Triple-A Tacoma, Castano logged 73 2/3 innings of work to the tune of a high 5.13 ERA with a 1.40 WHIP. Fantasy managers should expect the 26-year-old to spend time as a low-leverage relief option in the Seattle bullpen. Given his projected role, he will carry minimal fantasy value.
