Daniel Robertson Signs Minor League Contract With Twins

The Minnesota Twins signed free-agent infielder Daniel Robertson to a minor league contract. In July, he was designated for assignment by the Milwaukee Brewers and finished the rest of last season in Triple-A. Overall, the 27-year-old slashed .164/.303/.274 across 90 big league plate appearances. Robertson will provide the Twins with infield depth but isn't on the fantasy radar in 2022.

Daniel Robertson Leaves Early Thursday

Milwaukee Brewers infielder Daniel Robertson (calf) was unable to get through Thursday's game against the San Diego Padres. He was able to collect one hit in two at-bats before departing from the game. Kolten Wong subbed into the game at second base and will likely start there this weekend, assuming Robertson misses time. There should be more information about Robertson after the game, but he was barely a fantasy option anyway. He might have low-end deep league value, but even then he's not reliable.

Daniel Robertson Will Begin Rehab Assignment Thursday

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Daniel Robertson (concussion) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. Robertson has been out with a concussion since late April. It's not clear exactly how long his rehab assignment will last, but he should be able to reclaim his big-league bench role before too long. He may not have a particularly firm grip on that spot, however, as he owns a .105/.192/.132 slash line through 43 plate appearances this year. He's not fantasy relevant in any league format at this point.

Daniel Robertson Placed On Concussion Injured List

Milwaukee Brewers utility man Daniel Robertson (concussion) has been placed on the 7-day concussion injured list after being hit in the head by a pitch on Sunday, the team announced through Twitter. It's yet another struggle for Robertson, who has gotten off to a poor start this year with a .105 average and .322 OPS in 18 games. Even when he returns to full health, managers can safely ignore Robertson in all formats. In a corresponding move the Brewers recalled outfielder Corey Ray from the alternate training site.

Daniel Robertson Joins Brewers On One-Year Deal

The Milwaukee Brewers reached an agreement with infielder Daniel Robertson on a one-year, $900,000 deal on Tuesday, according to a source. The 26-year-old played in just 13 games last year with the Giants after he was designated for assignment by the Rays in August. He posted a .750 OPS with two RBI in his 13 games played. Robertson was the 34th overall pick by the A's in 2012 and was traded to Tampa in 2015 as part of the trade that sent Ben Zobrist to Oakland. He had a 122 OPS+ with nine home runs and 34 RBI while playing five different positions in 87 games for the Rays in 2018, his best season in the majors. Robertson figures to be a utility man for Milwaukee in 2021, giving him very minimal fantasy appeal.

Daniel Robertson Has Edge For Second Utility Spot

Tampa Bay Rays infielder Daniel Robertson apparently has edged out Michael Brosseau and Nate Lowe for the second utility infielder spot, with his ability to play shortstop a benefit. Brosseau has the ability to play the outfield, and that could factor in with the Rays using newcomer Yoshitomo Tsutsugo at third on occasion. Tampa is famous for getting plenty out of their utility infielders, and Robertson can play second, third and shortstop. Robertson had arthroscopic surgery on his knee last year, which held him to just 74 games. He hit a weak .213/.312/.295 with two home runs and 19 RBI in 237 plate appearances. The 26-year-old is more valuable to the Rays for his versatility than he is for fantasy owners, especially in this shortened season.

Daniel Robertson Close To Rehab Assignment

Tampa Bay Rays infielder Daniel Robertson (knee) is making quick progress since having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and could start a rehab assignment in the next week, according to manager Kevin Cash. It's good news, but Robertson just isn't much of a fantasy commodity as a utility player in Tampa. He was also hitting just .202/.311/.281 with two homers, 22 runs, 15 RBI and a steal in 178 at-bats before his injury. With Yandy Diaz, Brandon Lowe, Joey Wendle and eventually Matt Duffy around, Robertson won't get many chances to play regularly when he's ready to return.

Rays Option Daniel Robertson, Call Up Jake Faria

The Tampa Bay Rays optioned infielder Daniel Robertson to Triple-A Durham on Saturday and recalled pitcher Jake Faria from Durham in a corresponding move. There just isn't enough room on the major league roster for Robertson now that Joey Wendle is back from his wrist injury, plus he was hitting just .205/.310/.284 with two homers and 15 RBI in 176 at-bats. Faria has thrown two scoreless innings in the big leagues this year and has a 4.22 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 7.9 K/9 in his three-year career. He'll likely mostly pitch in relief, but he could be used for spot starts here and there. Faria might not be up for long and doesn't figure to have much fantasy value.

Daniel Robertson Out On Friday

Tampa Bay Rays infielder Daniel Robertson (illness) is not in the starting lineup on Friday after leaving the game early with an allergic reaction. Andrew Velazquez is starting at third base and is batting ninth against Indians starting pitcher Shane Bieber in his place. Velazquez has one hit in his seven at-bats this year and should be faded in DFS affairs this evening. It's unknown how long Robertson might be out, so Velazquez could see more playing time at the hot corner with Yandy Diaz (hand) on the injured list.

Daniel Robertson Leaves Game With Allergic Reaction

Tampa Bay Rays infielder Daniel Robertson left the game early on Thursday due to an allergic reaction. Robertson had a single in two plate appearances before leaving and is hitting just .197/.315/.287 on the year with two home runs. Consider him day-to-day for now. With Yandy Diaz (hand) on the injured list, Robertson and Andrew Velazquez will likely split time at the hot corner. Neither are very attractive to fantasy owners outside of AL-only affairs.
