Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis (knee) will resume baseball activities once he's asymptomatic following a platelet-rich plasma injection. Travis hasn't played at all in 2019 and hasn't made it through more than 103 games in the big leagues in his four years with Toronto. Always seemingly injured, there's no guarantee that Travis makes it back to the big leagues and sees meaningful at-bats again, let alone in 2019. You can leave him to the waiver wire in all leagues.
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis (knee) had another setback and has yet to play in 2019 due to right knee soreness. He recently experienced more pain in his knee after ramping up the intensity of his workouts in Florida. He was sent to New York to be examined by Dr. Riley Williams, but not structural damage was found and Travis received a platelet-rich plasma injection to reduce inflammation. There is no timetable for his return. The 28-year-old has talent but has never been able to stay healthy in the majors. Travis has never played in more than 103 games in a single season and sports a career .274/.314/.437 slash line in 316 games over four seasons. You can continue to ignore him everywhere.
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis (knee) had his four-week post-operation appointment and will now begin baseball activities next week. The 28-year-old has a lot of talent, but has never been able to tap into it for long stretches because of injuries throughout his career. He has never played in more than 103 games in four big league seasons and has twice gone under 70 games. Travis won't even be guaranteed regular playing time if he does ever get back to full health in 2019.
The Toronto Blue Jays placed second baseman Devon Travis (knee) on the 60-day injured list on Monday, making room on the 40-man roster for newcomer Daniel Hudson, who will work out of the bullpen. Travis has been sidelined since early March due to inflammation in his left knee and he is reportedly sidelined indefinitely. While he had an MRI three weeks ago which revealed no structural damage, he has had several surgeries on those knees and it's not a huge surprise. Travis has averaged just 85 games played over his past three seasons due to a myriad of ailments. The Jays have a bunch of young infield talent making their way up the ranks, including prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr., so Travis' outlook in Toronto looks very murky for 2019. For fantasy purposes, he is only worth a look in deeper AL-only leagues when healthy.
Billy McKinney, Devon Travis Candidates For Leadoff Spot
Toronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said that outfielder Billy McKinney and second baseman Devon Travis are the two guys he's considering for the leadoff spot right now, but he'll use the spring to make the final determination. McKinney is in a battle with Teoscar Hernandez for playing time in left field this year, but McKinney (a left-handed hitter) could get the strong side of the platoon and lead off against right-handers. Neither McKinney nor Travis are options for those in mixed leagues, but their AL-only and DFS value will be boosted if they hit leadoff for Toronto.
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis (knee, hamstring) will undergo an MRI exam on his left knee after he's been dealing with knee and hamstring soreness. He's not expected to play again this year, but the injury isn't believed to be serious. Despite playing a career-high 103 games in 2018, Travis managed to disappoint his fantasy owners, hitting .232/.275/.381 with only 11 home runs, 41 runs scored and 44 RBI in 357 at-bats.
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis will lead off and play second base versus righty Ryne Stanek on Tuesday. Travis sat out on Monday to get some rest, but is back and ready to go. It's been a fairly disappointing season for Travis at the plate, but leading off should hopefully help his fantasy value. Travis is worth looking at in DFS contests while he's leading off.
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. This appears to be a routine rest day for Travis who has started six straight games. Travis has not been much of a fantasy asset all year, so he should remain on the waiver wire. Lourdes Gurriel will draw the start at second base and bat second versus righty Ryne Stanek. Gurriel is hitting .324/.342/.519 with six home runs and 21 RBI off right-handed pitching this season. He's worth a look in DFS contests on Monday.
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis hit his 11th home run of the season on Wednesday night in a 10-5 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. Travis was 3-for-4 at the plate with the aforementioned homer and two RBI. He has really fallen out of the realm of fantasy relevance as the 27-year-old has disappointed with his offensive totals. He has a middling .233 average on the season along with 42 RBI. He can be avoided in all formats.
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis smacked his 10th home run of the season on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles. The three-run blast was the only hit of the game for Travis. Unfortunately, Travis tends to be a perennial fantasy disappointment and 2018 has been no different. He has a paltry .234 average on the season and fails to provide offense even with fairly regular at-bats. He should be avoided for fantasy purposes.
