Oakland Athletics right-hander Drew Rucinski is slated to make another start for the team on Thursday against the Seattle Mariners. Rookie right-hander Mason Miller will get the nod on Tuesday, while left-hander JP Sears will toe the rubber for Oakland on Wednesday. In his first major-league appearance since 2018 with the Miami Marlins, Rucinski got the start last Friday against the Cincinnati Reds and allowed five runs (three earned) on 11 hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out one in 5 2/3 innings for a loss. The 34-year-old could stick in the rebuilding A's rotation, but fantasy managers shouldn't get too excited, especially for his next start against Seattle.
Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Drew Rucinski (hamstring) has been activated from the 15-day injured list on Friday. The right-hander is set to make his season debut on Friday versus the Cincinnati Reds. Rucinski has been sidelined since late March due to a left hamstring strain. He was knocked around for a 6.52 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and an 8/5 K/BB ratio over three rehab starts in the minors. That being said, Rucinski won't be a recommended streaming option for Friday's slate.
Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Drew Rucinski (hamstring) has resumed throwing on Thursday. Manager Mark Kotsay mentioned that the organization is hopeful that Rucinski will be ready by Opening Day. However, he also said he's going to let things play out considering hamstring issues do have a tendency to linger. The 34-year-old reinvented himself while pitching in Korea over the last few years. He hasn't pitched in the MLB since 2018, but hopefully his success from overseas will carry over to the states. Rucinski is mainly only worth looking at in AL-only formats.
Drew Rucinski To Miss Next Start, IL Stint Possible
Oakland A's starting pitcher Drew Rucinski (hamstring) will miss his next scheduled start due to left hamstring tightness. His status for the beginning of the season is now in doubt. Kyle Muller or JP Sears could take Rucinski's place if he is to miss time. Rucinski was probably only on the radar in deep leagues or AL-Only formats after pitching the last four years in Korea, so this shouldn't affect many fantasy managers' plans.
The Oakland Athletics and free-agent right-hander Drew Rucinski agreed to a deal on Tuesday, according to a source. The New York Post's Jon Heyman later reported the deal is worth $3 million guaranteed on a one-year deal that includes a team option for $5 million in 2024. Rucinski will turn 34 years old on Dec. 30 and spent the last four years playing professionally in Korea, posting a strong 3.06 ERA over 121 starts. In four seasons with the Angels, Twins and Marlins, Rucinski had a 5.33 ERA (4.34 FIP), 1.59 WHIP and 17.9 percent strikeout rate in 54 innings across 41 outings (one start). The 33-year-old will be competing for a chance to stick at the back of the starting rotation next season for the rebuilding A's.

Rucinski has posted a respectable 3.12 ERA and 0.87 WHIP through 17 1/3 innings pitched so far this season for Miami. Look for the 29-year-old to return some time soon following the All-Star break.
Miami Marlins relief pitcher Drew Rucinski was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a groin injury. It's not yet known how long he'll be long out for. Prior to the injury, Rucinski was pitching to a a 4-1 record with a 3.12 ERA and a 14/3 K/BB ratio. Rucinski has been one of the better relievers in the Marlins bullpen.
