He has not pitched in a major league game since 2018, as he dealt with Tommy John surgery that kept him out of 2019, and then a PED suspension kept him from playing last year. The Pirates have more options than openings in their bullpen, but Santana is making a strong case for breaking camp with the team, and if he does he could be a solid play in saves/holds leagues with good strikeout potential.

Santana missed all of last season after having Tommy John surgery. The 28-year-old Dominican right-hander has a 3.31 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 7.9 K/9 for the Pirates in 88 relief outings (84 1/3 innings) in his two years with the team. Most of his major league action came in 2018, when he appeared in 69 games, posting a decent 3.26 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 54 K's in 66 1/3 frames.
