Ehire Adrianza In Camp With Angels

The Los Angeles Angels have brought infielder Ehire Adrianza into spring training as a non-roster invitee. The veteran appeared in just five big-league games with the Braves last season and failed to record a hit in his 11 trips to the plate. He also played sparingly in the 2022 season when he played just 37 contests between the Nationals and Braves. Known most for his four-year tenure with the Twins from 2017-2020, Adrianza is a career .238 hitter with 21 home runs and 19 stolen bases across 617 career games played. He has spent the bulk of his career at either shortstop or third base but has experience at first base, second base, and the corner outfield spots as he will compete for a super-utility role with the Halos in 2024.

Ehire Adrianza Enters Free Agency

Atlanta Braves infielder/outfielder Ehire Adrianza elected free agency on Monday after clearing waivers and being removed from the team's 40-man roster last week. Because of elbow and shoulder injuries, Adrianza missed most of the 2023 season and managed to play in only five games for Atlanta, going hitless in 11 plate appearances with a walk and four strikeouts. In 15 games for Triple-A Gwinnett and High-A Rome, he went 10-for-47 (.213) with no home runs, four RBI, a steal and four runs scored. The 34-year-old veteran utilityman will likely have to settle for a minor-league deal on the free-agent market this winter.

Braves Sign Ehire Adrianza To Minor-League Deal

The Atlanta Braves signed free-agent infielder Ehire Adrianza to a minor-league deal on Friday with an invite to big-league spring training. Adrianza will be a non-roster invite. The 33-year-old super-utility player will return to the Braves after spending the 2021 season with them. He started last season with the Washington Nationals before eventually being traded back to Atlanta. In 110 plate appearances over 37 games with the Nationals and Braves in 2022, Adrianza hit just .175/.264/.206 with no home runs, seven RBI, eight runs scored and a stolen base. He'll strictly be a bench player for the Braves if he makes the team out of spring training, and he doesn't have any real fantasy value. In 10 big-league seasons, Adrianza has a weak .239/.309/.354 slash line with 21 home runs and 149 RBI in 611 games.

Ehire Adrianza Comes Off Injured List

The Atlanta Braves reinstated infielder/outfielder Ehire Adrianza (illness) from the 10-day injured list on Monday and designated infielder Ryan Goins for assignment in a corresponding move. Adrianza will return to a super-utility role for the Braves off the bench, but since he won't see regular playing time, he's well off the fantasy radar in mixed leagues. The 33-year-old switch-hitter is batting just .180/.260/213 with no home runs, seven RBI, seven runs scored and one stolen base in 100 plate appearances and 34 games for the Braves and Washington Nationals this year. Adrianza has played in just three games for the Braves this year.

Braves Acquire Ehire Adrianza From Nationals

The Atlanta Braves acquired infielder Ehire Adrianza from the Washington Nationals on Monday in exchange for outfielder Trey Harris. In a corresponding move, the Braves designated infielder Robinson Cano for assignment. Adrianza spent the 2021 season in Atlanta, hitting .247/.327/.401 with five home runs, 28 RBI and 32 runs scored in 109 regular season games. The 32-year-old utility player will give the team some additional depth in both the infield and outfield, but he's unlikely to have much fantasy appeal, even in deeper leagues. In just 31 games for the Nationals this year, Adrianza has slashed .179/.255/.202 with no homers, seven RBI, five runs scored and one stolen base.

Ehire Adrianza Goes To The Nationals

The Washington Nationals signed free-agent infielder Ehire Adrianza to a one-year deal on Sunday, pending a physical. Adrianza's deal will be worth $1.5 million and includes performance bonuses. The 32-year-old is primarily a shortstop and is expected to serve as a utility infielder in D.C. Adrianza spent the 2021 season with the Atlanta Braves, hitting .247/.327/.401 with five home runs and 28 RBI in only 209 plate appearances over 109 games. He played shortstop, second base, third base and all three outfield spots for the Braves, so he'll certainly prove useful around the diamond for the Nationals. However, fantasy managers can look elsewhere. Adrianza has a career .244/.313/.366 slash line with only 21 home runs and 142 RBI in nine big-league seasons.

Johan Camargo Replacing Ehire Adrianza On Roster

Atlanta Braves infielder Ehire Adrianza will go on the postseason paternity list on Tuesday and will miss Game 6 of the World Series to be with his wife as she prepares to give birth. Johan Camargo will replace Adrianza on the team's World Series roster. Adrianza is allowed to be away from the team for a minimum of one day and a maximum of three days. There's a possibility that Adrianza could return to the Braves if the series goes to a Game 7, which would be on Wednesday. The utility infielder has just two at-bats and no hits in the World Series against Houston, and he's hitting .091 (1-for-11) with a double and three strikeouts in this year's postseason as a bench option for Atlanta.

Ehire Adrianza Hits Second Home Run On Sunday

Atlanta Braves infielder Ehire Adrianza has had two straight solid games at the plate with Ozzie Albies (calf) sidelined with a calf injury. On Sunday, Adrianza went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. It was his second consecutive multi-hit game. Through 11 games this year, Adrianza is slashing .333/.333/.762 with two home runs, six RBI and six runs. The Braves are off on Monday and Albies probably has a strong chance of returning to the lineup on Tuesday, which would relegate Adrianza to a bench role. Adrianza isn't worth considering in fantasy leagues at this point, but it's good to know he has the potential to deliver should Albies or Austin Riley miss extended time at some point.

Ehire Adrianza Activated From Restricted List

Atlanta Braves shortstop Ehire Adrianza has been activated from the restricted list. He has gone through the league's COVID-19 intake protocols and is set to rejoin the club. Infielder Johan Camargo was optioned to the team's alternate site at Gwinnett in a corresponding move. The 31-year-old Adrianza came over to Atlanta this offseason after spending multiple years with the Minnesota Twins. He swung a hot bat this spring, but he will be in a bench role for the Braves as long as the team remains healthy.

Ehire Adrianza Placed On Restricted List

Atlanta Braves infielder Ehire Adrianza had to leave the team for a personal reason and has been placed on the restricted list. He can return to the team after he goes through the league's COVID-19 intake protocols. Adrianza made the team's Opening Day roster after he swung a hot bat in spring training, but he's received just one at-bat to open the season. The 31-year-old is a super-utility type that is mostly useful in real life to the Braves for his glove and positional flexibility, so Adrianza shouldn't be rostered in the vast majority of fantasy leagues as bench depth.
