Felix Jorge Recalled From Double-A, Will Start Friday
Minnesota Twins pitcher Felix Jorge has been recalled from Double-A Chattanooga and is slated to make his second MLB start against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday. Jorge made his debut against the Kansas City Royals on July 1, picking up the win while allowing three runs in five innings and striking out two. The Twins needed to add a starter to their rotation after Hector Santiago was placed on the disabled list with back discomfort. Jorge is regarded as one of Minnesota's better pitching prospects and is worth monitoring for owners in deep dynasty leagues. Alan Busenitz was sent to Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move to make room for Jorge on the active roster.
Felix Jorge Solid In First Career Start, Optioned Back To Double-A
Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Felix Jorge was solid in his MLB debut against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. Jorge earned his first career win, allowing three runs over five innings of work. Jorge struck out two and walked one in the game. Despite picking up the win, Jorge was optioned back to Double-A Chattanooga after the game as the Twins needed an extra starter for the doubleheader.
Minnesota Twins rookie pitcher Felix Jorge will make his MLB debut against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. The Twins will summon the 23-year-old right-hander from Double-A Chattanooga to pitch along with Jose Berrios in a day-night doubleheader. Jorge has pitched well in Double-A this season, posting an 8-1 record, 3.26 ERA, and 6.41 strikeouts per nine innings. Despite the good record, Jorge has seen his strikeout rate decline since he debuted in the Twins' minor league system in 2011 which doesn't give much hope for him to have fantasy relevance anytime soon. He can be avoided in fantasy leagues for the time being.
