Minnesota Twins pitcher Gabriel Moya will be the opener against the Tigers, with Kohl Stewart following him. Moya has become a popular opener for the Twins of late, but he still holds a 4.86 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 30 strikeouts in 33 1/3 innings over 32 outings (four starts). You can avoid the left-hander for streaming purposes. Stewart is the much more attractive fantasy option in DFS formats.
Minnesota Twins relief pitcher Gabriel Moya will serve as the opener again on Wednesday against the Tigers, with Stephen Gonsalves being the primary pitcher to follow him. The left-handed Moya is beginning to find a niche as an opener, but he has just a 4.73 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 29 strikeouts in 32 1/3 innings over 29 outings (three starts). He has zero fantasy value in the role.
The Minnesota Twins have officially recalled pitcher Gabriel Moya from Triple-A Rochester after demoting pitcher Zack Littell. In Monday's loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, Littell performing in just his second major league game of the season struggled with his control and walked in the winning run. He was immediately optioned following the loss. In his place, the Twins have called up Moya. Moya struggled in the majors earlier in 2018 and was sent down to Rochester, but has been lights out in Triple-A. In 33 innings, the pitcher has accumulated a 1.64 ERA with 38 strikeouts. As of this moment, the Twins don't have a starter scheduled for Thursday's game with the Baltimore Orioles, so it'll be interesting to see if they give Moya a shot. That said, he is not on the fantasy radar yet.
The Minnesota Twins demoted reliever Gabriel Moya to Triple-A Rochester following their 10-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday. Moya was one of the main culprits in the beatdown, allowing three runs in 2/3 of an inning. The 23-year-old lefty has struggled in 2018, posting a 10.80 ERA in five innings of work and will now look to get his season on track in the minor leagues. Moya's demotion opens a spot on the 25-man roster for Phil Hughes, who is scheduled to start against the Rays on Sunday.
