The Toronto Blue Jays have sent infielder Gift Ngoepe outright to Triple-A Buffalo. Ngoepe was designated for assignment last week and cleared waivers. Ngoepe has one hit across 19 plate appearances with the big club this year, including 12 strikeouts and a walk. Hell look to improve upon his putrid .160/.276/.200 Triple-A slash line that he had prior to being called up. We dont think we need to tell you this, but Ngoepe can safely be avoided in every fantasy league under the sun.

The Toronto Blue Jays have optioned infielder Gift Ngoepe To Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday. Ngoepe was only called up on Monday and was thought to be the guy to be sent back down once third baseman Josh Donaldson returned. While the timing of that is accurate with Donaldson returning on Thursday, the specific transaction is not. In a corresponding transaction, Toronto called up outfielder Dwight Smith Jr. from Triple-A Buffalo to help out given their various nicked up outfielders. Smith was hitting an underwhelming .230/.329/.361 with two homers and five steals at the Minors highest level. Neither of these transactions have any fantasy relevance.
Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Gift Ngoepe will no longer be with the team that brought him to the majors in 2017. Ngoepe was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays for a player to be named or cash considerations. Ngoepe hit just .222 with no homers and six RBI in 54 at-bats in his rookie campaign. He is most known for being the first African-born player to see time in the major leagues. "An amazing story," Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said of Ngoepe. "It was the longest of long shots to get to the big leagues, and it will not surprise us at all if he finds his way back there."
