J.J. Hoover Opts For Free Agency

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher J.J. Hoover has elected for free agency after clearing waivers when the Brewers designated him for assignment. After giving up three runs in 1 1/3 innings pitched with the Brewers, they did not necessarily have much interest in keeping him in on the major league roster. Wherever Hoover lands, he will not have much fantasy relevance, as he'll be mainly for depth purposes.

J.J. Hoover Agrees To Minor League Deal With Brewers

Free-agent relief pitcher J.J. Hoover has agreed to a minor league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers. Hoover recovered with the Diamondbacks after a rough year with the Reds in 2016. This past season. he posted a 3.92 ERA and 1.77 WHIP over 41 1/3 innings. He will have a chance to earn a spot with the Brewers bullpen in spring training.

J.J. Hoover Has Multiple Offers

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that free-agent reliever J.J. Hoover has multiple offers on the table. Hoover was non-tendered by the Diamondbacks earlier in the offseason. He had a nice bounce-back season with the Diamondbacks this past year where he went 3-1 with a 3.92 ERA. He will be entering his age-30 season and owns a career 4.09 ERA in six seasons.

Diamondbacks Moving On From J.J. Hoover

The Arizona Diamondbacks have non-tendered relief pitcher J.J. Hoover, allowing him to become a free agent. Hoover bounced back with the Diamondbacks after a rough 2016 season with the Reds. He posted a 3.92 ERA in 41 1/3 innings this past season. He will look to find his way into another teams bullpen this spring.
