Los Angeles Angels infielder Jack Mayfield had a four-RBI game during Thursday's 9-3 win over the Chicago White Sox. He went 1-for-4 with a bases-loaded double, an RBI groundout, a run, and two strikeouts. Mayfield is slashing .202/.260/.384 with nine home runs and two stolen bases across 71 games thus far. He can be left alone in almost every league, especially during an ice-cold month of September in which he's posted a .487 OPS. At the most, Mayfield's a deep league streaming option against lefties, who he's slugging .423 against this year.
Los Angeles Angels infielder Jack Mayfield had a good day at the dish on Sunday, going 2-for-4 in the 7-3 loss to the Texas Rangers. He doubled in the sixth inning and also scored a run. Since the release of shortstop Jose Iglesias, Mayfield has had everyday playtime in the Angels infield. He's having a below-average season, hitting .215 and slugging .419 with nine home runs over 62 games. However, since August 21, he's slugged .486 with two home runs, six RBI, and six runs in 12 games. He can be left on the waiver wire in most leagues but can be a good streaming option when the Angels face a lefty, who he's slashed .235/.275/.485 against this season.
Los Angeles Angels infielder Jack Mayfield hit a fourth-inning grand slam against the New York Yankees in Monday's 8-7 victory. He finished the day 1-for-4 with four RBI and one run scored. The home run was his ninth of the season, and he is now slashing .212/.259/.423 with 24 RBI, 18 runs, and one stolen base over 57 games. Mayfield should be left on the waiver wire in most leagues, unable to provide even a decent batting average or OBP. However, he has started at shortstop three of the past four games, and if that continues, he can be a deep league option to provide some power, albeit hurting the other categories.
Los Angeles Angels third baseman Jack Mayfield hit his seventh home run of the season in Friday's 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. He added a single, two RBI, and a walk on the day. Mayfield, who was claimed off waivers from the Seattle Mariners, was recalled on July 6 to replace the injured Anthony Rendon at the hot corner. He has quietly put up decent numbers, slashing .229/.264/.476 with seven home runs and one stolen base in 39 games. Since the All-Star break, he's been on a tear, hitting .286 with a .683 slugging. There are concerns about his 0.2 BB/K, but he can provide enough offense for a deep waiver wire player if fantasy managers want to take a flier on him.
Los Angeles Angels have decided to give Jack Mayfield another chance after designating him for assignment earlier in the season. On Sunday, they claimed Mayfield off waivers from the Seattle Mariners. He has struggled heavily during his time at the major league level. It's unlikely that he has much of a role on the Angels and won't produce enough to warrant rostering him in fantasy formats.
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jack Mayfield contributed out of the nine-hold Thursday, hitting a two-run double to left-center field off Texas Rangers relief pitcher Brett Martin. One of a line of Mariner call-ups amidst a slew of injuries, Mayfield has produced a .279 OPS in 21 at-bats on the season, and Thursday's double was only his second hit of the year. Mayfield should not be on fantasy rosters, and may not be long for the Seattle roster either.
Aledmys Diaz To Injured List, Jack Mayfield Called Up To Start
Houston Astros second baseman Aledmys Diaz (hamstring) was placed on the IL on Monday, and infielder Jack Mayfield has been called up to take his place. Mayfield will start at second and bat sixth in Monday's contest versus the Cubs. The news is undoubtedly disappointing to speculative owners who were hoping that top prospects Yordan Alvarez or Kyle Tucker would be called up, but neither is an infielder and Alvarez isn't on the 40-man roster. Savvy players in dynasty or keeper leagues could use this call-up to see if owners of those top prospects are losing faith. Mayfield is interesting, as is anyone in the Astros lineup, but regular second baseman Jose Altuve is expected to be activated this week, so Mayfield can be ignored for fantasy purposes.
