The Texas Rangers acquired relief pitcher Jesse Biddle off waivers from the Seattle Mariners and he is expected to join the organization on Monday in Texas. He might replace either RPs Pete Fairbanks or Locke St. John in the bullpen for manager Chris Woodward. Biddle has been a disaster in 2019, posting a 9.82 ERA with seven walks and eight strikeouts across 11 innings over 11 relief appearances while blowing one save with a 2.45 WHIP. As such, he has no fantasy appeal at the moment.
The Texas Rangers claimed relief pitcher Jesse Biddle off waivers on Friday after he had been designated for assignment by the Seattle Mariners. Biddle had been traded to the Mariners in a late May deal that sent Anthony Swarzak to the Braves. Biddle appeared in 11 games for the Mariners after the trade and was a complete trainwreck with an ERA of 9.82 and a WHIP of 2.46. The Rangers have had some shaky bullpen play this year, which began when closer Jose Leclerc stumbled out of the gate, but it's unlikely Biddle will play much of a role in helping the team's bullpen state. He should remain on waivers in all leagues.
