Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Jimmie Sherfy (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list. The 29-year-old right-hander is currently dealing with elbow inflammation, unfortunate news considering he was recently claimed off waivers. Nonetheless, Sherfy hasn't played well during his brief tenure in L.A. so far, currently sitting on a 4.15 ERA throughout four outings for the club. Mitch White will head back up from Triple-A OKC, although he isn't a reliable fantasy option.
Right-handed pitcher James Sherfy is joining the San Francisco Giants on a minor league deal that includes an invite to spring training. Sherfy has not appeared in the big leagues since 2019, but he has produced a 2.98 ERA over 43 career appearances with the D-backs. Sherfy has familiarity with the Giants from his time spent in the National League West, but he'll also have an opportunity to make the big league roster on the heels of an arm injury. Through his brief major league stints, he has shown a propensity for avoiding hard contact, although he'll have an uphill battle for a fantasy relevant role in San Francisco this year.
Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Jimmie Sherfy has been called up from Triple-A Reno Aces on Sunday. After Troy Scribner's disastrous start on Sunday, and with the Diamondbacks rotation getting back on track for the meantime, this can allow a call-up option for mid-relief for the Diamondbacks. While Sherfy will hold no fantasy relevance behind Brad Boxberger and Archie Bradley, he looks to be a promising pitcher with a 2.25 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP with 18 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched for the Aces.
