Enrique Hernandez Targeting Late-July Return

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Enrique Hernandez (oblique) is hopeful to get back into the mix for the first homestand following the All-Star break. Hernandez has been sidelined since late May due to a significant left oblique tear. He has been taking batting practice and appears on the verge of returning to the Dodgers' lineup. The team opens the second half on the road, but Hernandez is aiming to return for the first home series beginning on July 28. His return to the roster will be a welcoming sight as the Dodgers have missed their utility player. Hernandez is unlikely to contribute enough to warrant a roster spot in most fantasy formats.

Shohei Ohtani Won't Pitch on Friday Due to Knee Irritation

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced that two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani (knee) won't make his scheduled start on the mound on Friday night against the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks due to continued irritation in his left knee. However, Ohtani will serve as the designated hitter for the rest of the final weekend of the first half of the season. Following the series against Arizona, he will have some interventions on his knee to put him in the best spot for the second half. Ohtani also will not travel to Philadelphia to participate in next week's All-Star Game. The Dodgers aren't taking any chances with the best all-around player in baseball, with a current 14.5-game lead in the National League West ahead of both the D-backs and San Diego Padres. The Dodgers obviously aren't too concerned, otherwise, they wouldn't allow the four-time MVP to serve as the DH this weekend. It's unclear when Ohtani will make his next start on the mound in the second half, but whenever he does, he'll be a must-start in fantasy lineups. Ohtani has been in the NL Cy Young conversation in the first half of 2026, going 8-2 on the mound with a 1.79 ERA (2.62 FIP) and 0.95 WHIP with 95 strikeouts and 26 walks in 85 2/3 innings across his 14 starts.

Will Smith  • C  •  Dodgers

Will Smith's Neck Injury Could Linger into August

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told AM 570 this week that catcher Will Smith's (neck) injury could linger into August, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Fortunately for the Dodgers, they are 14.5 games up on both the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres in the National League West division, so they can afford to take their time and make sure Smith is good to go for the stretch run. Per Ardaya, the Blue are treating Smith's injury as "an extended development period" for catcher Dalton Rushing. The 31-year-old Smith has been out since June 11. He has resumed swinging a bat, but the Dodgers are in no rush to bring the starting catcher back right after next week's All-Star break. It's unfortunate news for Smith's fantasy managers, as it's now sounding like he might not come off the 10-day injured list until sometime in August. Before his injury, the former first-rounder was disappointing with the bat, too, slashing .249/.338/.382 with a .720 OPS, six homers, 23 RBI, and 23 runs scored in his 173 at-bats.

Zyhir Hope  • OF  •  Dodgers

Is Zyhir Hope Nearing a Call to Triple-A?

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Zyhir Hope has enjoyed a strong first half of the season wth Double-A Tulsa and should be in the mix to push for a second-half promotion to Triple-A. Currently, Hope is viewed as the sport's No. 19 overall prospect and the No. 3 overall prospect in a deep Dodgers system that features some of the top outfield prospects in the game, such as Josue De Paula and Mike Sirota. Through 77 games with Double-A this season, the 21-year-old has posted a strong .286/.362/.500 line with a .862 OPS, 15 doubles, 16 home runs, and an impressive 13 stolen bases. Last summer, he spent most of his time with High-A before moving up to Double-A late in the season. Given his current production, dynasty managers should expect Hope to reach Oklahoma City later in the season, which sets him up to compete for an early 2027 MLB debut.

Max Muncy  • 3B  •  Dodgers

Is Max Muncy a Worthy Power Target for Deep-League Managers?

Across 175 plate appearances so far this season, Athletics infielder Max Muncy is hitting .227/.303/.396 with five home runs, 20 RBI, 24 runs scored, and three stolen bases. The 23-year-old opened the year as the near-everyday third baseman for the Athletics, but he suffered a fractured hand in late April that sidelined him until early June. Since his return, Muncy has been limited to more of a part-time role and is currently behind infield prospect Joshua Kuroder-Grauer on the A's depth chart at third base. Still, Muncy owns an 11.1% barrel rate and a 48.5% hard-hit rate this season. If Kuroder-Grauer runs into some early-career struggles, Muncy could work his way back into a regular role for the Athletics. In deeper league formats, fantasy managers may want to consider targeting Muncy on the waiver wire for his power upside.

Shohei Ohtani Still in Line to Pitch on Friday

Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani (biceps) is still in line to make his last start of the first half of the season on Friday against the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks, manager Dave Roberts told Maddie Lee of MLB.com. Ohtani's catch play has been normal, and he hasn't mentioned anything about his biceps issue. "As he goes through the next couple of days, if he doesn't feel great, we'll pivot...but as we sit here, I don't see that changing," Roberts said. The four-time MVP was held out of action for a couple of days last week due to a minor right-biceps injury, but he has since returned to the starting lineup as the Dodgers' designated hitter, and he looks good to go for his next scheduled start on the mound to begin the final weekend before next week's All-Star break. The Japanese right-hander shouldn't be limited from a pitch-count perspective, either, so fantasy managers should ride with him in their starting lineups. The 32-year-old veteran has been outstanding on the bump in his 14 starts, going 8-2 with a 1.79 ERA (2.62 FIP) and 0.95 WHIP with 95 strikeouts and 26 walks in 85 2/3 innings this year. In his first start against the D-backs on June 3, Ohtani went six shutout innings with one walk and six strikeouts for his sixth win of 2026.

Tommy Edman Back in the Lineup Against Rockies

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (ankle, foot) is starting in left field and will bat fifth for Tuesday's game against the division-rival Colorado Rockies and right-hander Michael Lorenzen at Dodger Stadium, per MLB.com. Edman missed the last two games after being hit by a pitch on his surgically-repaired ankle/foot, but he'll return to action for the second game of the series versus the Rockies on Tuesday. The 31-year-old veteran switch-hitter only has 49 at-bats so far in 2026 after recovering from surgery, but he's hitting .347 in the small sample size with a home run, nine RBI, six runs scored, and a stolen base in 17 games and 59 plate appearances. With limited power and speed upside, Edman has a low fantasy ceiling, but he can still be valuable for depth in deeper fantasy leagues on the best team in baseball with eligibility at second base, third base, and the outfield in Yahoo leagues. Edman has hit .400 with a 1.100 OPS in just five career at-bats against Lorenzen.

Is James Tibbs III Worth Stashing Amid Slowdown at Triple-A?

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III has cooled over the past week, going just 3-for-19 (.158) over the last six games at Triple-A Oklahoma City. It has been a season of ebbs and flows for the Dodgers' ninth-ranked prospect, so this could be the calm before the red-hot resurgence. For the season, the left-handed slugger is hitting a solid .286 despite a 25.4 percent strikeout rate, and has recorded a strong .406 on-base percentage thanks to a 16.8 percent walk rate (88th percentile) with a .385 xwOBA (94th percentile). There is plenty of power, as evidenced by average exit velocity, barrel, and hard-hit rates that register 91st percentile or better, which has resulted in 42 extra-base hits (21 home runs) and 70 RBI through 83 games. It seems he's done enough to earn a debut this season, and that could come in the next month or so. With the potential to be hitting in the league's second-best run-producing offense (5.34 runs/game), the 23-year-old should be viewed as a solid stash option in deeper 12-team leagues.

River Ryan  • SP  •  Dodgers

River Ryan Off the Stash Radar Amid Injury Concerns and Recent Struggles

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitching prospect River Ryan (hamstring) finds himself on the minor-league injured list with Triple-A Oklahoma City after suffering a right-hamstring strain. Ryan also missed time with the injury in April, so his injury history is becoming a bit of a concern. The numbers are pretty good for Ryan in Oklahoma City this year, with a 3-1 record, a 4.46 ERA, and 43 strikeouts in 36 1/3 innings pitched. The strikeout rate is a good sign for Ryan, and the 27-year-old is working hard to be ready for his major league debut. The injuries have been troubling, though, as he also missed all of 2025 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Ryan's three starts in June before landing on the injured list were subpar, with a 1-1 record and 8.16 ERA, including his latest start in which he gave up eight earned runs. Ryan, the No. 6 prospect in the Dodgers system, will likely need to show more consistency on the mound and with his health before he is considered for a call-up. For now, he is off the stash radar in all standard leagues.

Blake Snell  • SP  •  Dodgers

Blake Snell Set to Face Hitters on Saturday

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell (elbow) will face live hitters on Saturday for the first time since undergoing elbow surgery in mid-May, per David Vassegh of 570 L.A. Sports. Shoulder and elbow troubles have limited Snell to just one start so far in 2026, but the veteran left-hander appears to be slowly making progress towards a return. The oft-injured Snell has reached 130 innings pitched just twice in 11 big-league seasons. Still, he was a productive pitcher for the Dodgers when healthy in 2025, recording a 5-4 record with a 2.35 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 72 strikeouts across 61 1/3 innings. Snell posted a 34.7% strikeout rate as recently as the 2024 season and remains a high-upside strikeout source when he's at his best. In leagues where he may be available, fantasy managers should look to stash him off the waiver wire.

Tommy Edman Remains Out on Monday With Ankle/Foot Injury

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (ankle, foot) will take a seat again for Monday's series opener against the Colorado Rockies, per MLB.com. Edman will miss a second straight game after he was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the San Diego Padres with soreness in his right ankle/foot. It's something worth keeping a close eye on, as Edman had surgery on the same ankle/foot in the offseason, which caused him to get a late start in 2026. The good news is that Edman should be fine going forward after just being hit by a pitch in Saturday's win over the Friars. Veteran Miguel Rojas is starting at the keystone and will hit eighth on Monday at home against the visiting Rockies and left-hander Kyle Freeland. In just 16 games played so far this year, Edman has gone 17-for-49 (.347) with a homer, nine RBI, six runs scored, and a stolen base. He typically hasn't been much of a fantasy asset in his career due to limited power/speed upside, but he's played well in a small sample size and offers eligibility at second base, third base, and the outfield.

Edwin Díaz  • RP  •  Dodgers

Edwin Diaz Throws Bullpen Session on Sunday

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Edwin Diaz (elbow) threw a live bullpen session before Sunday's game against the San Diego Padres. Diaz said afterwards that he felt better than he did earlier in the season. Diaz has been sidelined since he underwent surgery in April to remove loose bodies from his elbow. He remains on the 60-day Injured List, but Diaz believes he'll be able to rejoin the Dodgers bullpen shortly after the All-Star break. The assumption is that Diaz will resume the full-time closer role once he's back with the team. Fantasy managers who need bullpen help down the stretch of the season should stash Diaz now.

Tommy Edman is Scratched from Sunday's Lineup

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (foot) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the San Diego Padres. The Dodgers have decided to hold out Edman for a day after he was hit by a pitch on the foot during Saturday's contest. It sounds like the Dodgers are just being safe, so fantasy managers shouldn't need to worry about Edman heading to the Injured List because of this. Alex Freeland will cover second base while Miguel Rojas takes over at the hot corner versus left-hander JP Sears on Sunday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups ahead of the first pitch.

Shohei Ohtani Back in Dodgers Lineup Against Padres

Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani (biceps) is serving as the designated hitter and is batting leadoff in Sunday's series finale against the division-rival San Diego Padres and left-hander JP Sears, according to MLB.com. Ohtani was pulled as a precaution from Friday's contest in L.A. against the Pads after he felt something in his biceps muscle late in the game. The Dodgers gave Ohtani the day off in Saturday night's win, and now that he's back in the starting nine, he should be returned to all starting fantasy lineups, even against a southpaw. The 32-year-old four-time MVP has gone 1-for-12 so far in three games in July, but he hit .333 (30-for-90) with eight homers, three doubles, a triple, 19 RBI, and 23 runs scored in 24 games played in June, and he remains a must-start, five-category contributor as a hitter in fantasy leagues. He has hit .258 (25-for-97) with six of his 18 home runs this year against left-handed pitchers, and Ohtani has four hits and an RBI in eight career at-bats against Sears.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto Picks Up Fifth Straight Quality Start in Win Over Padres

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto dominated the division-rival San Diego Padres on Saturday night in a 3-0 victory to post his fifth straight quality start. Yoshinobu threw seven shutout innings at Dodger Stadium with only three hits allowed, two walks, and 10 strikeouts for his ninth win of the year. It was the 27-year-old's second scoreless outing of the 2026 season, and he's now 9-5 with a 2.49 ERA (3.25 FIP) and 0.88 WHIP with an even 100 strikeouts and 21 walks in 104 2/3 innings pitched across 16 starts in his third year in the league. The Japanese star hurler hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in each of his last eight starts. In that span, Yamamoto has allowed only nine earned runs (1.48 ERA) while walking 11 and striking out 52 in 54 2/3 innings while going 6-2. He's set to face the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks next week in his final start before the All-Star break. Yamamoto faced the D-backs in his first start of the year on March 26, allowing two earned runs with no walks and six K's in six innings for his first quality start of the season. He's a must-start every time he toes the rubber with one of the best offenses in the league backing him.

James Tibbs III  • RF  •  Dodgers

James Tibbs III No Longer on the Stash Radar Amid Triple-A Skid?

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III has had a brief stint at Triple-A Oklahoma City and has seen his fantasy value as a stash candidate drop. Over his last 14 contests with the Comets, the outfielder has posted a much lower .208/.365/.375 line with just two long balls. However, over his previous 21 games, the No .10-ranked prospect in the Dodger system carried a much higher .269/.400/.603 line with a stellar 1.003 OPS, two doubles, and an eye-catching eight long balls. Overall, the 23-year-old Florida State product has held his own at Triple-A this season, carrying a .285/.407/.563 slash line with a .970 OPS and 21 long balls. However, with Teoscar Hernandez back in action, Tibbs no longer has an immediate path to join the MLB roster. For now, given his slump and lack of a clear path to at-bats, Tibbs enters Week 14 as a mid-range stash candidate for those in deeper 12+ team leagues.

Dodgers "Hopeful" Shohei Ohtani Will Return on Sunday

Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani (biceps) "feels considerably better" on Saturday, manager Dave Roberts told Maddie Lee of MLB.com. Ohtani is out of the starting lineup for the Fourth of July contest in L.A. against the division-rival San Diego Padres on Saturday night, as expected, but the Dodgers will "see how the day goes as far as availability tonight." Roberts said he's "hopeful" that Ohtani will be in the starting lineup for the series finale on Sunday. Ohtani was a little concerned about his right biceps muscle in his last at-bat in Friday's win over SD and was pulled as a precaution. He said it was in the same spot as something he felt a couple of months ago that resolved relatively quickly. Outfielder Andy Pages will serve as the Dodgers' designated hitter on Saturday and hit in the two-hole against Padres left-handed opener Wandy Peralta. The 31-year-old Ohtani should be considered day-to-day for now and looks likely to avoid a trip to the injured list just before the All-Star break. After a slow start at the plate, he quickly turned it around and is currently batting .288/.403/.524 with a .927 OPS, 18 homers, 50 RBI, 60 runs, and six steals in 309 at-bats. Ohtani isn't running as much, but he's still an elite five-category contributor as a hitter in 2026.

Tommy Edman Bringing Multi-Category Value to the Waiver Wire?

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman has wasted little time making himself useful after right ankle surgery. Through 52 plate appearances, the 31-year-old is batting .378/.462/.556 with one home run, nine RBI, five runs, and one stolen base. He has played six of the Dodgers' past seven games while bouncing between second base, third base, and left field, giving fantasy managers three-position eligibility. The .378 average will come down, but Edman's .330 expected average and career-best 90.5 mph average exit velocity suggest this is more than a run of soft singles. He is also striking out just 17.3% of the time. The crowded Dodgers roster can still move him down the order or onto the bench occasionally, keeping him from being an automatic shallow-league add. RotoBaller recommends him in 12-team leagues, and his 25% Yahoo roster rate leaves plenty of room to act. At that depth, Edman's balanced production and flexibility make him a must-add.

River Ryan  • SP  •  Dodgers

Is River Ryan Still a Top Stash Target After Hitting the Injured List?

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher River Ryan was flashing high upside at the Triple-A level before being placed on the 7-day IL with a hamstring strain. The right-handed pitcher battled injuries early in the season but was looking comfortable at the top club before being moved back to the injured list last week. From May 15 through June 10 (25 innings), the right-handed pitcher posted a strong 2.16 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with a 30:5 K:BB. However, he would serve up a season-worst eight earned runs on June 17, his final start before being moved to the IL. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progress at Triple-A as he could compete for an early promotion after the All-Star break. Currently on the MLB roster, the Dodgers are without Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow, and another current starter, Roki Sasaki, is enduring significant growing pains at the major-league level. If Ryan can return to action and showcase similar upside, he could earn a spot in Los Angeles early in the second half.

Is Josue De Paula the Top Outfield Prospect in Baseball?

Los Angeles Dodgers top-ranked outfield prospect Josue De Paula has enjoyed an impressive first half with Double-A Tulsa this season and has put himself near the top of most prospect rankings. Last summer, De Paula spent the majority of his time with High-A before having a brief four-game taste of Double-A late in the second half. However, in 2026, the Dodgers have kept the 21-year-old with Tulsa during the entire first half. Over this 75-game stint, De Paula has posted a .318/.416/.554 slash line with 25 doubles, 15 home runs, and 22 stolen bases. Over his last 29 games, he has been even more productive, carrying a .341/.424/.643 line with a stellar 1.066 OPS. While a 2026 MLB debut is out of the question, De Paula is making a strong case to be viewed as the clear top-ranked outfield prospect in baseball.
