Dodgers Expect Mookie Betts to Return on Monday

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Braves that he expects shortstop Mookie Betts (oblique) to be in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener versus the division-rival San Francisco Giants, according to Katie Woo of The Athletic. The Dodgers will activate Betts from the 10-day injured list to kick off Week 7 of the 2026 season after he was placed on the IL back on April 5 with a strained right oblique. In two minor-league rehab games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Betts went 2-for-5 at the plate with a run scored, a walk, and two strikeouts. The 33-year-old former MVP and eight-time All-Star will return to starting duties at the 6 in L.A., pushing Hyeseong Kim back into a utility role for the Dodgers. Betts hit .179 (5-for-28) with two homers, seven RBI, and seven runs scored in eight games before his injury, but he needs to be returned to all starting lineups in traditional fantasy leagues now that he's on the cusp of activation. He's set to face Giants right-hander Trevor McDonald in his first game back on Monday.

Roki Sasaki Pushed Back to Monday Versus Giants

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Roki Sasaki, who was originally scheduled to start on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves, will have his next start pushed back to Monday's series opener against the division-rival San Francisco Giants, according to Jack Harris of The California Post. Lefty Blake Snell (shoulder) will be reinstated from the 15-day injured list to make his season debut on Saturday against Atlanta. If not for Tyler Glasnow (back) landing on the IL on Friday, the 24-year-old Sasaki would be at risk of being bumped from the starting rotation entirely. The Japanese hurler continues to struggle with control and consistency in his second MLB season, going 1-3 with a 5.97 ERA (6.83 FIP), a 1.67 WHIP, and 26:15 K:BB in 28 2/3 innings pitched across his six starts for the Blue in 2026. He will now be on eight days of rest against SF. Despite being unreliable so far in fantasy, Sasaki did go a season-high six innings his last time out against the Cardinals, and he'll be facing a Giants team that is dead-last in OPS (.637).

Tanner Scott is Becoming a Must-Add Reliever

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Tanner Scott is off to a strong start to the 2026 season. After some struggles last season, Scott appears to have made the correct adjustments. He currently owns a 1.88 ERA with a 15:2 K/BB ratio across 14.2 innings of work this season. The southpaw has fallen back into a high-leverage role with Edwin Diaz (elbow) currently sidelined. Scott notched his second save of the season on Sunday. He figures to be the favorite for saves, but Alex Vesia could also get mixed in as well. Scott has the stuff to be an elite closer moving forward. He has shown that he can do it in the past and should get a legitimate shot while Diaz is down. Fantasy managers seeking bullpen help should look into adding Scott.

Dodgers Put Tyler Glasnow on Injured List With Back Spasms

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Friday that they placed right-hander Tyler Glasnow (back) on the 15-day injured list with lower-back spasms and recalled right-hander Paul Gervase from the minors in a corresponding move. Glasnow will have to miss at least a couple turns through the starting rotation despite his MRI exam not showing anything serious. The 32-year-old hard-throwing veteran was pulled from his last start early on Wednesday in Houston against the Astros after just one inning after he felt his back give out on him while throwing warmup pitches before the second inning. It's a tough break for Glasnow, who has struck out 49 batters in 39 2/3 innings of work so far in his seven starts for the Dodgers in 2026 while allowing more than two earned runs in a start just once. He's gone 3-0 with a 2.72 ERA and 0.83 WHIP and will need to be stashed in an IL spot in all fantasy leagues. Hopefully, it ends up being a short stay on the shelf for Glasnow. In his absence, right-hander Roki Sasaki could be tasked with taking Glasnow's rotation spot.

Blake Snell to Make Season Debut for Dodgers on Saturday

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell (shoulder) will be reinstated from the 15-day injured list to make his 2026 season debut on Saturday at home against the visiting Atlanta Braves instead of making a final minor-league rehab appearance for Single-A Ontario, a source told Jack Harris of The California Post. The Dodgers could put right-hander Tyler Glasnow (back) on the IL in a corresponding move. The 33-year-old veteran southpaw has been out all season to this point due to left-shoulder fatigue after the Dodgers made a deep playoff run last fall that culminated in a second straight World Series championship. The two-time Cy Young winner also dealt with shoulder injuries in 2025 in his first year in L.A., being limited to just 11 starts during the regular season. Snell had a nice 2.35 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 72 K's and 26 walks in his 61 1/3 innings, though, and he remains a must-roster pitcher in fantasy baseball because of his swing-and-miss stuff. With that said, Snell will be a volatile fantasy play this weekend against the first-place Braves in his first start in 2026. Snell threw only 55 pitches in four innings in his final rehab start, so expect him to be limited from a pitch-count perspective on Saturday.

Mookie Betts to Begin Rehab Assignment on Friday

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts (oblique) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday. Betts has been sidelined since early April due to a strained right oblique. He suffered a setback in late April, but appears to be ready for game action now. Betts will play both Friday and Saturday in Oklahoma City, which leaves the door open for him to return to the Dodgers on Sunday. Fantasy managers will have to wait and see how Betts is feeling after these two games. If not this weekend, Betts should be able to rejoin the Dodgers by early next week.

Four-Hit Night Reminds Managers to Stash James Tibbs III

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III continues to hit the ball incredibly well. He went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI on Wednesday night, bringing his season slash line up to .307/.402/.650. He has also launched 11 homers and brought his wRC+ up to 161. This isn't the first time there's been significant buzz about Tibbs, and it also won't be the last. He's a legitimate top-tier prospect with the potential to be a superstar in the majors. If this were any other organization, Tibbs would probably already be called up. However, the Dodgers have so much star power that they can afford to let Tibbs spend even more time developing as an everyday piece in Triple-A, rather than calling him up to the majors, where he might not get into the lineup daily. When the time does come for him to make his MLB debut, though, he'll already be rostered in most fantasy leagues. Fantasy managers should get ahead of the surge and stash him now, before it's too late.

Andy Pages Continues Scorching Start to 2026 With Three-Homer Game

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages put together a monster performance in his team's 12-2 win over the Houston Astros on Wednesday, going 3-for-5 with three home runs and six RBI. The 25-year-old is off to an excellent start to the 2026 season, hitting .336/.376/.589 with eight home runs, 33 RBI, 22 runs scored, and six stolen bases. Pages is currently tied for the MLB lead in RBI and should remain in a prime position to keep racking up counting stats while hitting in the heart of the potent Dodgers' lineup. He looks like an above-average contributor across all five traditional rotisserie categories early on this year.

Tyler Glasnow Not Expected to Land on the Injured List

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that right-hander Tyler Glasnow (back) will undergo an MRI exam on his back, but he's not expected to go on the injured list, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Glasnow said he felt his back "gave out" during a warm-up throw before the second inning of his outing on Wednesday in Houston against the Astros. He tried to throw another pitch, but it didn't feel any better. It's the same issue that forced him to skip a start in Baltimore in 2025 and that sent him to the IL in 2024. The Dodgers are calling Glasnow's injury back spasms for now. If Glasnow's back doesn't get any worse and he's able to make his between-starts bullpen session, he'll be lined up for a great matchup next week against the division-rival San Francisco Giants. In his inning of work on Wednesday, the hard-throwing right-hander allowed an earned run on a solo home run while walking none and striking out two. Given the 32-year-old's lengthy injury history, it wouldn't be a surprise if he lands on the IL as a precaution.

Tyler Glasnow Exits Early on Wednesday With Back Pain

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (low back pain) exited before the second inning of Wednesday's game against the Houston Astros. Glasnow threw 19 pitches in the first inning, and he started to get ready for the second inning before manager Dave Roberts and the trainer came out to check on him. He was ultimately removed from the game and replaced by Jack Dreyer. Fans and fantasy managers will hold their breath as the team conducts testing to determine the severity of his injury. If Glasnow is forced to miss any time, it would be another chapter in an injury-filled career. He's been highly effective when healthy, though, pitching to a 2.41 xERA with 10.94 K/9 and 3.03 BB/9 this season. On a positive note, the Dodgers do have reinforcements on the way. Blake Snell (shoulder) is expected to return from the 15-day injured list next week and could slot into Glasnow's rotation spot, if necessary. UPDATE: Glasnow was pulled early with back spasms.

Blake Snell  • SP  •  Dodgers

Blake Snell Expected to Make His Final Rehab Start on Saturday

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell (shoulder) will make another rehab start on Saturday at Single-A Ontario, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register. Barring a setback, this is expected to be Snell's final rehab outing before he returns to the Dodgers' 26-man roster. The veteran starter is presumably ready to put the injury issues behind him, as he's made just 11 regular-season starts since joining the Dodgers prior to the 2025 season. Across 61.1 innings last year, he posted a 2.35 ERA with 10.57 K/9, 3.82 BB/9, 0.44 HR/9, and a 48.7% ground ball rate. It initially seemed like Snell would take Justin Wrobleski's spot in the rotation, but Wrobleski has been pitching so well that Emmet Sheehan (4.31 FIP) may end up being the odd man out.

Mookie Betts Cleared to Face Live Pitching, Rehab Assignment Not Far Off

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that shortstop Mookie Betts (oblique) will face live pitching on Thursday, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. If that goes well, Betts could start a minor-league rehab assignment "soon." Betts has been on the 10-day injured list since April 5 with a right-oblique strain, but he could be ready to rejoin the big-league lineup before the end of next week. The 33-year-old former MVP, eight-time All-Star, and seven-time Silver Slugger winner hasn't been as productive in his last two seasons in L.A. while dealing with some injuries, and his 2026 campaign has gotten off on the wrong foot. Still, Betts is a must-roster and must-start player in fantasy baseball when he's active, and he will take over starting duties at shortstop when he's activated from the IL, pushing Hyeseong Kim back into an infield utility role. Betts went 5-for-28 (.179) with two homers, seven RBI, and seven runs scored in his eight games before straining his oblique muscle.

Shohei Ohtani Will Only Pitch on Tuesday Against Astros

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said before Monday's series opener against the hosting Houston Astros that two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani would serve as the designated hitter during his start on the mound on Tuesday. However, after Monday's game, Roberts said the team would change course and just have Ohtani pitch. The left-handed slugger walked twice, drove in a run, and scored two runs in the 8-3 win on Monday night, but he went 0-for-2 at the plate and is 0-for-17 in the last five games at the plate. This will be the third time so far in 2026 that the Dodgers have given Ohtani a break from hitting on the same day that he pitches. He could use the mental break offensively right now, and he should be back in the lineup as the DH for Wednesday's series finale in Houston. The four-time MVP is producing well below his standards as a hitter, but he's been lights-out on the mound, allowing just four runs (two earned) while walking nine and striking out 34 in 30 innings pitched over his five starts. Despite the tough matchup on Tuesday on the road, Ohtani needs to be in your starting fantasy lineups as a pitcher.

Mookie Betts Working to Increase his Swing Speed

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts (oblique), who is currently on the 10-day injured list with a right-oblique strain, is working on increasing his swing speed, according to MLB.com. Betts is inching closer to starting a minor-league rehab assignment. He landed on the IL back on April 5, so fantasy managers are itching to get him back into their starting lineups. Betts suffered a setback late last month that has delayed him a bit in his rehab, but it appears that he's moving in the right direction again. If he's cleared to start a rehab assignment soon, Betts could be back in the big leagues at some point next week. The Dodgers have been using second-year infielder Hyeseong Kim primarily at shortstop of late with Betts sidelined. Betts, a former MVP, eight-time All-Star, and seven-time Silver Slugger winner, needs to be stashed in all fantasy leagues, but after an injury-plagued and disappointing 2025 campaign, fantasy managers may be beginning to wonder if the star athlete is beginning to break down at 33 years old. He had gone 5-for-28 (.179) with two homers, seven RBI, and seven runs in just eight games to begin the 2026 season before injuring his oblique.

Blake Snell Goes Four Innings in Third Rehab Start on Sunday

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell (shoulder) made his third minor-league rehab start on Sunday for Triple-A Oklahoma City and went four innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out four batters. Snell threw 37 of his 55 pitches for strikes and topped out at 97.4 mph with his fastball on the radar gun. The only runs he allowed came on a two-run home run in the first inning. The 33-year-old former two-time Cy Young winner is now sporting a 3.38 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 10 strikeouts and two walks in eight innings pitched in his three rehab starts with Oklahoma City and Single-A Ontario. He will require at least one more rehab start in the minors, but after that, the Dodgers could activate him from the 15-day injured list to make his 2026 season debut. Shoulder issues limited Snell to only 11 starts in 2025 in his first year in L.A., but he had a 2.35 ERA with 72 punchouts in 61 1/3 innings when healthy, and he's a must-stash starting pitcher in fantasy baseball leagues.

Tanner Scott Becoming the Must-Add Closer Out of the Dodgers Bullpen

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Tanner Scott picked up the save on Sunday as the Dodgers snapped their four-game losing streak in the series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals by winning 4-1. Scott is now two for two in save opportunities since Edwin Diaz (elbow) underwent surgery, which has made him unavailable for multiple months. Blake Treinen and Alex Vesia have both been deployed in high-leverage situations for the Dodgers late in games, but Scott appears to be the favorite to close things out, making him a must-add in formats with saves as a category, considering the likelihood of the Dodgers winning a good amount of games. In addition, Scott has deserved the role, as he has been excellent this season, with a 1.88 ERA, 0.70 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts over 14 1/3 innings.

Teoscar Hernandez Hits a Slump as Power Diminishes

Los Angeles Dodgers left fielder Teoscar Hernandez has struggled at the plate lately, leading to reduced production in fantasy baseball leagues. Over his last seven games, he's hitting just 3-for-24 with three singles, four RBI, four walks, and seven strikeouts. He hasn't homered since April 15, and he has just four total homers this year. To this point in the season, he owns a modest 95 wRC+, which is the lowest mark since his rookie campaign in 2016. It's fair to be concerned about his power output, as his ISO is down to a career-low mark of .163. The 33-year-old is hanging around as the #27 outfielder in RotoBaller's latest fantasy baseball rankings, so managers will hope that he can get back on track and produce a spark soon. In an attempt to give him a mental and physical reset, the Dodgers held Hernandez out of the lineup on Wednesday against the Marlins. With the off day Thursday, that gave him back-to-back days off. He should be back in the starting nine on Friday against St. Louis.

Tyler Glasnow Continues Stellar Beginning to the Season

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow didn't have his best command during Wednesday's outing against the Miami Marlins. The right-hander issued a season-high six walks in what ended up being a no-decision for Glasnow. He was able to salvage his fantasy value by tying his season-high with nine strikeouts across 5.2 innings of work. It has been an overall strong start to the season for Glasnow, who holds a 2.56 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, and a 47:13 K:BB ratio across six starts. He hopes to have better command during his next outing against the Houston Astros. Despite some command issues, Glasnow remains a must-start fantasy pitcher.

Kyle Tucker  • RF  •  Dodgers

Is Kyle Tucker's Middling Production to Open 2026 His New Norm?

Through the first month of the 2026 season, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kyle Tucker hasn't quite given his new team the production they were hoping for. Across 133 plate appearances, Tucker is hitting .241/.331/.371 with three home runs, 15 RBI, 21 runs scored, and three stolen bases. The 29-year-old has been a bit better of late, as he enters play on Thursday riding a five-game hitting streak. Still, Tucker's 21.8% strikeout rate is his worst mark since 2019. His underlying metrics don't point to an imminent power breakout either, as his 8.0% barrel rate is the lowest mark he's posted since a 72-plate appearance sample size from his rookie season in 2018. As long as Tucker stays healthy, he's a lock for everyday playing time in Los Angeles and should continue to rack up counting stats, which gives him a safe fantasy floor. However, fantasy managers hoping for Tucker to return to his 29-homer, 30-steal peak from 2023 may end up disappointed.

Edwin Díaz  • RP  •  Dodgers

Edwin Diaz Feels Good, "100 Percent Confident" he'll be Full Strength in Second Half

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed closer Edwin Diaz (elbow), who is on the 15-day injured list after having surgery to remove loose bodies from his right elbow, said that he feels "really good" and is "100% confident" that he will be back to full strength for the second half of the 2026 season, according to Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register. Diaz won't start a throwing program until after his stitches are removed in a couple of weeks. His injury was a disappointment for the organization after they signed Diaz to a three-year, $69 million contract in the offseason, the highest average annual value ever given to a reliever. The 32-year-old reliever needs to be stashed in all fantasy formats for the rest of the first half of the year, as Diaz could be a difference-maker down the stretch for a Dodgers team looking to win their third straight World Series championship. In the meantime, the Dodgers will continue to go with a committee approach in the ninth inning, which includes lefties Tanner Scott and Alex Vesia, and right-hander Blake Treinen.
