Max Muncy Takes Grounders on Saturday

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy (knee) was able to take ground balls at third base ahead of Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. This is good news as Muncy continues to work his way back from a knee issue that has sidelined him since early July. It appears Muncy is making progress, but he still has plenty of work still to do. The expectation is that Muncy won't be back in action until mid-August. Possibly, Muncy can beat that timetable, but fantasy managers should expect to be without him for at least the rest of July.

Mookie Betts Absent on Saturday

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. This appears to be a regular rest day for Betts who has struggled with the bat this month. In July, Betts is slashing .188/.212/.354 over 52 plate appearances, so it's not a bad idea to rest him against a tough pitcher in right-hander Freddy Peralta. In his absence, Miguel Rojas will cover shortstop and bat ninth against the Brew Crew on Saturday. Fantasy managers should expect Betts back in the mix on Sunday.

Emmet Sheehan  • SP  •  Dodgers

Emmet Sheehan Starting on Saturday Against Brewers

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Emmet Sheehan is scheduled to make his first start of the second half of the season on Saturday against the visiting Milwaukee Brewers. In Sheehan's last appearance, he went 4 1/3 innings as the bulk reliever behind "opener" Shohei Ohtani on July 12. Saturday will be the 25-year-old's third start of the season and only his fourth big-league appearance. He's been strong so far in just 13 1/3 innings for the Blue, allowing three earned runs on 10 hits while walking four and striking out 13 batters. Once the Dodgers' starting rotation is back to full health -- mainly whenever lefty Blake Snell (shoulder) is ready to return -- Sheehan will move to a long-relief role or back to the minors. While Sheehan has looked good in a small sample size this year, he'll be a shaky streamer this weekend against the red-hot Brewers.

Blake Treinen Strikes Out One in Fourth Rehab Appearance

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Blake Treinen (forearm) made his fourth rehab appearance at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday. The right-hander faced three batters and threw eight pitches, all of which were strikes, and he struck one batter out while not allowing a hit or a walk. He's now allowed one earned run on just one hit (a home run) and a walk while striking out five in four innings pitched. The 37-year-old has been out since mid-April with a strained right forearm, but posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and a 19.4 percent K-BB% before going down with the injury. The 6-foot-5 hurler should be able to return within a week, and could be in a position to pick up some saves down the stretch with Tanner Scott having a tenuous hold on the closer role.

Roki Sasaki  • SP  •  Dodgers

Roki Sasaki Touching 90 MPH in Latest Bullpen Session

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Roki Sasaki (shoulder) has been working his way back from a shoulder impingement, currently in the bullpen session phase of the progression, and was throwing up to 90 mph in recent sessions. The next step will be to face live hitters, and he still appears to be on track for a return in late August. The Dodgers' rotation needs aren't as dire as they were earlier this season when they were without Tyler Glasnow, Clayton Kershaw, and Shohei Ohtani, but that can always change in an instant. Hopefully when Sasaki returns, the 23-year-old will be able to post better numbers than he was able to log during his time on the mound before the injury. The Japanese righty registered a 4.72 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, and an ugly 1.3 percent K-BB% through eight starts (34 1/3 innings pitched).

Shohei Ohtani  • DH  •  Dodgers

Shohei Ohtani's Next Start on the Mound to Come on Monday

Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani will make his next start on the mound in Monday's series opener against the visiting Minnesota Twins, according to manager Dave Roberts. Ohtani will be followed by right-hander Dustin May, who will essentially serve as the bulk reliever as the Dodgers continue to ease Ohtani back into the starting rotation. Right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto will pitch in Game 2 of the series against the Twins on Tuesday. Ohtani didn't make his pitching debut with the Dodgers until June 16 this year after having Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. The 31-year-old went an inning each his first two outings, two innings each his next two outings and then advanced to three innings his last time out on July 12. He has allowed only one earned run in nine innings with 10 K's and two walks, but fantasy managers should expect him to be limited to three innings again on Monday.

Max Muncy Progressing Toward Mid-August Return

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy (knee) is trending toward a mid-August return. Muncy resumed playing catch and took dry swings Friday, his first since landing on the injured list on July 3. "We're right where we think we should be," Muncy said of his rehab. Before the injury, he was slashing .250/.375/.457 with a career-best 91.5 mph average exit velocity and a 21.9% strikeout rate, both signs of his improved approach since wearing glasses in May. Fantasy managers should prepare to activate Muncy in all formats once he rejoins the Dodgers' lineup.

Tyler Glasnow  • SP  •  Dodgers

Tyler Glasnow Scheduled to Start on Friday

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Tyler Glasnow is scheduled to toe the rubber versus the Milwaukee Brewers in their first series post-All-Star break. Glasnow faced the Brewers in his last turn through the rotation on July 9, which was also his first start back from his shoulder injury that had kept him out since late April. With the Dodgers sending Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Clayton Kershaw to the All-Star game, it makes sense that they come out of the break starting Glasnow. Thus far this season, Glasnow has a 3.52 ERA in 23 innings pitched. His last time around against the Brewers, he tossed five innings, allowed two hits, three walks, no runs, and struck out five. Following Glasnow, Emmet Sheehan will get the ball on Saturday while Clayton Kershaw is set to start on Sunday.

Bobby Miller  • SP  •  Dodgers

Disappointing Stretch Continues for Bobby Miller

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller spent most of the 2025 season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, and he has struggled. Across 64.2 innings at Triple-A, Miller owns a 5.15 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, and just a 2.4 percent strikeout minus walk rate. The latter mark is the fourth worst among all starters at Triple-A this season with at least 50 innings. It's been a frustrating couple of years for the flamethrowing right-hander, as he's made just one start in the majors this season at home against the Rockies, and coughed up six runs in three innings. After looking like one of baseball's brightest young starters in 2023, it's been a nightmarish two years to follow. Only 26 years old, he'll look to bounce back in the second half and generate some positive momentum.

Blake Treinen  • RP  •  Dodgers

Blake Treinen Makes Another Rehab Appearance

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed reliever Blake Treienen (forearm) made his third minor-league rehab appearance on Tuesday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and allowed a solo home run while walking none and striking out one in his inning of work. In his three innings on the farm during his rehab assignment, the 36-year-old veteran hurler has allowed two runs (one earned) while striking out four and walking one. It's unclear how much longer he'll be on his rehab assignment, but barring a setback with his forearm, we'd suspect he'll rejoin the big-league bullpen shortly after the start of the second half of the season this Friday. Treinen has two saves in just eight appearances in 2025 and 82 saves in 11 big-league seasons, so he could see more work in the ninth inning in the second half for the Blue, especially if lefty Tanner Scott continues to be inconsistent.

Blake Snell  • SP  •  Dodgers

Blake Snell Sharp in Second Rehab Start

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell (shoulder) took another step toward his eventual return to the Majors on Tuesday night. Snell completed his second rehab start on Tuesday, this time with the Dodgers' Arizona Complex League affiliate, tossing three innings, allowing one earned run, and racking up seven strikeouts. He appeared sharp in this outing, and now, with two rehab starts under his belt, he has logged five innings, striking out 11 and allowing only one run. Most importantly, zero walks. The Dodgers will likely aim to ramp him up to about 70-75 pitches before he returns to their starting rotation, but these are all positive signs for fantasy managers who have been stashing Snell on their IL. Snell has been on the shelf since April 3, and once he returns, Snell is the kind of player who can be a league-winner down the stretch. In his 10-year MLB career, he owns an impressive 3.18 ERA and a fantastic 11.17 K/9.

Clayton Kershaw  • SP  •  Dodgers

Clayton Kershaw Retires Both Batters In ASG Appearance

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw's 11th All-Star Game appearance, which could be his last, was a memorable one in Tuesday's Mid-Summer Classic. The 37-year-old, who was added to the National League team roster as a legend pick, relieved Paul Skenes and started the second inning. Kershaw faced his two batters mic'd up, getting a loud line-out from Cal Raleigh on a sliding Kyle Tucker catch and then freezing Vladimir Guerrero Jr. for a strikeout. He was then relieved by National League and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who let Kershaw keep the baseball. Kershaw may be near the end of his storied career, in which he has accumulated 216 wins with a 2.52 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP, a 27.2% strikeout rate, and 3,003 strikeouts. His numbers in 2025 don't quite reflect his career numbers, but he has still provided a serviceable 4-1 record with a 3.38 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP, and a 16.9% strikeout rate in 10 starts and 50 2/3 innings.

Ryan Ward  • LF  •  Dodgers

Ryan Ward Named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Ryan Ward earned Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors for the week of July 7-13. The 27-year-old went 9-for-21 (.429) with four doubles, a triple, and one home run, along with six RBI, four runs scored, and a 6:3 BB:K in six games for Triple-A Oklahoma City. The left-handed slugger is up to a .309/.399/.597 slash line for the season, and his 108 hits, 24 home runs, and 82 RBI lead all minor leaguers. He's always had big power, but through 261 games at Triple-A prior to this year, he registered a 26.1 percent strikeout rate. However, this season he has cut that down to a better-than-average 20.0 percent, complemented by a strong 13.1 percent walk rate. If he gets the call to the majors, the power potential and offensive environment could make him an intriguing waiver add in very deep and NL-only leagues.

Roki Sasaki Expected to Return in Late August

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Roki Sasaki (shoulder) will throw his second bullpen session on Monday as he works back from a shoulder impingement. Barring any issues in his rehab, the Dodgers expect Sasaki to return in late August, according to manager Dave Roberts. Sasaki last pitched in the majors on May 9 and has since encountered some bumps in the road in his recovery. The Dodgers had to shut him down from throwing for a period, but he's now making progress. This has been a rough first year in the bigs for Sasaki, a big-ticket offseason signing from Japan. Along with his injury troubles, the 23-year-old phenom has struggled to a 4.72 ERA with almost as many walks (22) as strikeouts (24) in 34 1/3 innings.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto  • SP  •  Dodgers

Yoshinobu Yamamoto Tosses Gem Against Giants

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto bounced back in a big way on Sunday, tossing seven shutout frames against the San Francisco Giants in a 5-2 win. Yamamoto scattered three hits and two walks while punching out seven. Unfortunately for the 26-year-old righty, he was saddled with a no-decision after Tanner Scott blew a save in the ninth. Still, it was a big step in the right direction for Yamamoto, who was coming off a disastrous outing against the Milwaukee Brewers in which he didn't escape the first inning. Things have been a bit shaky for the Japanese star lately, with solid starts sandwiched between rough ones. Still, his numbers look good for the season, as he is 8-7 with a 2.59 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 116 strikeouts in 104 IP. His next start is TBD as we head into the all-star break, but Yamamoto will be a must-start in fantasy regardless of who he faces.

Tanner Scott  • RP  •  Dodgers

Tanner Scott Blows Save on Sunday

Los Angeles Dodgers closer Tanner Scott recorded his major league-worst seventh blown save in a 5-2 win over the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. Leading 2-0, the Dodgers called on Scott to put away the Giants in the bottom of the ninth inning. The left-hander retired Willy Adames to lead off the frame, but Matt Chapman reached on a single and Luis Matos tied the game with a 424-foot home run. Scott got out of the inning without surrendering any more runs, and the Dodgers overcame his poor performance to win in 11 innings. They'll go into the second half of the season in first place in the NL West, though there may be some concerns regarding Scott. After yielding just three homers in 72 innings last season, Scott has already coughed up eight in 44 frames this year. Thanks largely to his problems keeping the ball in the yard, Scott's ERA has surged from 1.75 in 2024 to 4.09 in 2025. He still boasts a 1.14 WHIP with 49 strikeouts against eight walks, but it hasn't led to the top-tier run prevention that the Dodgers or fantasy managers expected.

Max Muncy Progressing to Stationary Bike

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy (knee) has progressed to using a stationary bike, according to the team's manager Dave Roberts. He continued by saying that Muncy is trending really well from his left knee bone bruise. Muncy has been out since early July and is expected to miss about six weeks of action. That timetable would put him around mid-August to get back into the mix at third base. In his absence, Tommy Edman and Miguel Rojas have been splitting up duties at the hot corner. Fantasy managers should continue to hold Muncy through the injury.

Josue De Paula Named All-Star Futures Game MVP

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Josue De Paula went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run in the fourth inning of Saturday's All-Star Futures Game that erased a 2-0 deficit, putting the NL squad ahead with a lead they would not relinquish as they went on to win the game 4-2. The 418-foot blast came off the bat at 108.5 mph on a pitch delivered by 6-foot-10 lefty Noah Schultz, who is the game's fourth-highest ranked pitching prospect (White Sox No. 1, MLB No. 17), and catapulted the left-handed hitting De Paula to Futures Game MVP honors. The Dodgers' top-ranked prospect is having a productive season at High-A thus far, batting .265 with 10 home runs and 26 stolen bases, while registering a lofty .409 OBP thanks to his ability to draw walks (65) just as often as he strikes out (66). The 20-year-old's future looks bright, and this performance could give some extra momentum heading into the second half of the season, which could earn him a promotion to Double-A in the coming weeks.

Tanner Scott Nails Down 19th Save

Los Angeles Dodgers closer Tanner Scott picked up his 19th save in a 2-1 nail-biter against the San Francisco Giants on Saturday. Scott pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning and struck out both Jung Hoo Lee and Casey Schmitt to help the Dodgers snap a seven-game losing streak. It was a much-needed rebound for the left-hander, who combined to surrender three earned runs on six hits over two frames in his previous two outings. Scott's 3.77 ERA through 43 innings is about two runs higher than his pristine 1.75 mark from last year, but he has logged a strong 1.09 WHIP with excellent strikeout and walk numbers (49:7 K:BB).

Blake Snell to Make Next Rehab Start on Tuesday

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell (shoulder) will make his second rehab start on July 15 in the Arizona Complex League. Snell toed the rubber in his first rehab start Wednesday, throwing two scoreless innings and 31 pitches at the Single-A level. The two-time Cy Young winner hasn't pitched in the majors since April 2 because of shoulder inflammation. Snell is still likely to require two or three more rehab starts before rejoining the Dodgers, but he should be back in the next couple of weeks if there are no setbacks.
