Suwinski entered the season as a popular sleeper, but has mostly struggled at the dish this season and even saw some time in Triple-A, before recently being brought back up. Despite his early season struggles, the left-handed bat has started to show some signs of life with nine hits over his last 35 at-bats, including three homers. In the deepest of mixed leagues, his power potential makes him worth a dart throw, but he is best served as a watch-list candidate for the time being.

There is certainly some second-half bounce-back potential considering his lowly .218 BABIP but it's also worth noting that Suwinski's .280 xwOBA ranks in the league's 11th percentile.

Suwinski has shown power in the past with 50 career home runs, but has struggled this season with a .177 batting average and five homers to go along with 14 RBI and five stolen bases. His time in Triple-A may be what he needed to get going and managers searching for power should watch and see what Suwinski does over the next few days as he could be a solid one-category pickup.
The Pittsburgh Pirates optioned outfielder Jack Suwinski to Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday and recalled left-hander Jose Hernandez from the minors in a corresponding move. Suwinski is being shipped down to the farm to work on his swing after struggling so far this year to a .174/.268/.297 slash line with four home runs, 13 RBI, five stolen bases and 16 runs scored in 138 at-bats. The 25-year-old left-handed hitter should eventually be back in Pittsburgh, but he probably won't be anything more than a platoon center fielder. With Suwinski in the minors for the time being, it should open up more playing time in the outfield for Ji Hwan Bae and Connor Joe, which will in turn open up more action for the lefty-hitting Rowdy Tellez at first base in Pittsburgh.

The 25-year-old started just two of the four games against the Marlins over the weekend, although he has still racked up 15 plate appearances thanks to pinch-hitting opportunities. He is 2-for-14 (.143) with a walk to begin the season but still offers a nice combination of power and speed coming off a 26-homer, 13-steal season in the 2023 campaign.

He enjoyed a fine 2023 season that saw him hit .224 with 26 homers, 74 RBI, and 13 stolen bases but he also hit just .200 with only two homers and a .608 OPS against left-handed pitching. However, he also ranked righties for an .856 OPS and big-time .271 isolated power. Add in the speed and Suwinski remains a quality fantasy asset, even on the strong side of a platoon.

Suwinski has power/speed potential, making him a high-upside pick if fantasy managers can withstand his low batting average at his current NFBC ADP of 230.

The 25-year-old left-handed hitter has batted .295 (23-for-78) with four home runs, three doubles, a triple, 16 RBI, four stolen bases and 12 runs scored in 24 games (22 starts) in the final month of the season. Overall, he's hitting .223/.341/.457 with 26 home runs, 72 RBI, 13 stolen bases and 63 runs scored in 435 at-bats in his second major-league campaign.
