Bobby Miller News
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that right-hander Bobby Miller will start the team's second exhibition game in Korea on Monday against the Korean national team after the team goes with a bullpen game on Sunday versus the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korean Baseball Organization. The 24-year-old is on track to make his regular season debut against the St. Louis Cardinals on March 28 after Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glasnow take the hill for the two-game series in Korea against the San Diego Padres on March 20-21. The former 29th overall pick by LA in 2020 out of Louisville really impressed in his rookie season in 2023 with a 3.76 ERA and 1.10 WHIP while walking 32 and striking out 119 in his first 22 starts. Miller has elite velocity and six different pitches to work with. He's ranked as RotoBaller's No. 22 fantasy starter in just his second MLB campaign.
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Bobby Miller allowed back-to-back doubles to the Chicago White Sox in his Cactus League debut on Tuesday, but he eventually settled down and allowed only the two hits and a run while striking out one and walking none in his two innings of work. "I thought Bobby threw the ball well," manager Dave Roberts said. The Dodgers and fantasy managers are counting on Miller to take a step forward in 2024 after a strong rookie year that saw him post a 0.78 ERA through his first four major-league starts. The 24-year-old finished with an 11-4 record, 3.76 ERA (3.51 FIP) and 1.10 WHIP in 22 starts. Not only does Miller have elite velocity, but he can fool batters with six different pitches. He'll have a high price as a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 starter in fantasy drafts this spring.
Los Angeles Dodgers rookie starting pitcher Bobby Miller did not last long in National League Division Series Game 2's 4-2 loss to the Diamondbacks. The 24-year-old pitched just 1 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks with one strikeout. Miller was successful overall in his first big-league regular season, going 11-4 with a 3.76 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 23.6% strikeout rate in 22 starts and 124 1/3 IP. However, it is not that surprising that he was kept on a short leash with such little overall experience in a game of this magnitude.

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Bobby Miller had a rookie season most pitchers dream of. The former first-round pick compiled an 11-4 record of 22 starts with a 3.76 ERA and 3.51 FIP. With his pedigree and underlying metrics, it looks like Miller can at least duplicate his numbers from 2023 and possibly improve on them. His xERA of 3.40 was in the 81st percentile and he has numbers to prove that wasn't beginner's luck. His expected batting average was .229, his walk percent was two points better than the league average and he had a 47.7% groundball rate. The 24-year-old posted a .277 BABIP and 1.10 WHIP, showing he wasn't overly lucky at keeping runners off base, thus proving he should be able to repeat such a feat. The 10.7% HR/FB rate Miller posted also looks sustainable, thanks in part to his high groundball rate. He's ranked at 100 by RotoBaller and he's going around there, meaning he won't come overly cheap, but know he should return great value.
