Dodgers
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Bobby Miller has been optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. The 25-year-old has been awful this season, but the Dodgers decided to give him another chance against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday. That didn't go well as Miller gave up four runs over two innings of work in the loss. The right-hander has allowed 17 earned runs this month and increased his ERA to 8.52 after his latest outing. In a corresponding move, right-hander Joe Kelly has been activated from the 15-day injured list. He figures to resume his role as a late-inning reliever.

Bobby Miller Dealing With Knee Issue
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Bobby Miller (knee) said he's been dealing with a left-knee issue, which is what he tweaked in the second inning of his outing on Thursday night against the Baltimore Orioles at Dodger Stadium. Miller said he can manage his left knee the rest of the year. Despite battling a knee ailment, the 25-year-old made it through five innings in his start on Thursday against the O's and actually picked up just his second win of the year, allowing three earned runs on two hits (one homer) while walking three and striking out three. The former 29th overall pick in 2020 out of Louisville was demoted to the minors earlier this year after struggling in LA's starting rotation and he hasn't been much better since his return on Aug. 17, allowing 10 earned runs while walking four and fanning 13 in 15 2/3 innings over three starts. Rolling with an injured Miller down the stretch will be dicey for fantasy managers.

Bobby Miller Could Be Used In Bullpen
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Bobby Miller is expected to rejoin the big league roster on Saturday, according to manager Dave Roberts. The 26-year-old was optioned to the minors about a month ago to work on his mechanics but he was also dealing with a groin issue. The plan is for Tyler Glasnow to take the mound for Saturday's game. Roberts said that Miller could pitch out of the bullpen. He continued by saying anything is on the table for how Miller could be used. Miller was already barely an option in fantasy leagues, but a move to the pen would basically give him no value.

Dodgers Option Bobby Miller
The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Wednesday that they optioned right-hander Bobby Miller to the minors. It's been a rough season for Miller in 2024, and the Dodgers had seen enough after he surrendered nine earned runs in four innings of work in a beatdown at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. The 25-year-old has limped to a 1-2 record, 8.07 ERA (6.31 FIP) and 1.83 WHIP with 27 strikeouts and 18 walks in 29 innings in his seven starts for the Blue in his second season in the big leagues. Miller wasn't helped by the fact that he missed two months due to right-shoulder inflammation. It remains to be seen if the Dodgers just want to give Miller a little more rest over the All-Star break or if they want to see serious mechanical adjustments in the minors before giving him another shot at a big-league rotation spot in the second half of the season. UPDATE: Manager Dave Roberts said the plan with Miller is for him to work with director of minor-league pitching Rob Hill through the All-Star break and then make one or more starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City after the break.

Bobby Miller Won't Start On Regular Rest
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that right-hander Bobby Miller won't start on regular rest (four days off) this Sunday for the series finale against the visiting Milwaukee Brewers. It remains to be seen if the Dodgers will treat Sunday as a full bullpen game or if they'll use Ryan Yarbrough or Nick Ramirez in bulk-relief roles, or go with a spot start from someone at Triple-A Oklahoma City. Even though the 25-year-old allowed only two earned runs in five innings in his last start on Tuesday against the division-rival Diamondbacks, he's had a tough go of it in his sophomore season in the majors and has also missed considerable time due to injury. Miller is currently 1-1 with a 6.12 ERA and 1.60 WHIP with a 22.9% strikeout rate in just six starts. In three starts since coming off the injured list, he has a 6.75 ERA and 1.73 WHIP with seven K's and nine walks.

Bobby Miller Set For Final Rehab Start
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Tuesday that starting pitcher Bobby Miller (shoulder) will make one more minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday. If all goes well, that'll be his last appearance in the minors before re-entering the Dodgers' rotation. A right shoulder impingement has sidelined Miller since April 10, but the hurler is lining up to be reinstated from the injured list early next week during a four-game set with the division-rival Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. The fire-balling 25-year-old right-hander owns a 5.40 ERA through three starts in 2024, and he'd be a risky fantasy bet in his first start back from an extended absence at a hitter-friendly ballpark, despite posting an 18:6 K:BB over 11 2/3 innings. LA will also have a tough decision to make with former top prospect Gavin Stone, who has thrown extremely well but could end up being optioned back to the minors to make space for Miller.

Bobby Miller Sees Drop In Velocity In Latest Rehab Start
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Bobby Miller (shoulder) completed his second minor-league rehab outing on Saturday, June 1, with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, where he logged 3 1/3 innings with five hits, one free pass, and four earned runs. Miller logged 65 total pitches but did see a drop in velocity. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has yet to show any concern about the drop in velocity, as it does not appear to be related to his shoulder inflammation. The 25-year-old is scheduled to start another rehab game on Friday, this time with Triple-A Oklahoma City, and he could rejoin the major-league rotation shortly after that. Miller has high-end fantasy upside with the Dodgers and should be stashed everywhere while he recovers.

Bobby Miller Struggles In Rehab Outing With Single-A
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Bobby Miller (shoulder) allowed four runs on five hits and one walk while striking out none over 3 1/3 innings in his rehab start with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. He threw 65 pitches, landing 38 pitches for strikes. According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Miller experienced a little velocity drop in his rehab start but doesn't believe the dip was caused by any kind of physical setback. The 25-year-old allowed three runs on 55 pitches in his previous rehab appearances. Miller has been out since April 13 due to right shoulder inflammation. He owns a 5.40 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 18:6 K: BB across 11 2/3 innings in 2024. Miller could be required to do one more rehab assignment before joining the Dodgers rotation. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Miller on their rosters as the right-hander could return from the injured list soon.

Bobby Miller To Make Another Rehab Start This Weekend
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Bobby Miller's (shoulder) next minor-league rehab start will come either on Friday or Saturday. Miller will throw four innings during that outing, and then the Dodgers will evaluate where he's at his in his recovery from inflammation in his right shoulder. After throwing 55 pitches and allowing three runs over three innings in his first rehab start with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday, Miller will likely need at least one more outing in the minors following this weekend's appearance before he re-enters LA's rotation. Although the 25-year-old fire-balling right-hander has given up seven runs over 11 2/3 innings this season, his 18:6 K:BB and top-notch strikeout upside makes him a must-stash fantasy asset with a mid-June return appearing likely. 2023 top prospect Gavin Stone will remain worth streaming in favorable matchups until Miller is back in the mix.

Bobby Miller To Make Rehab Start On Sunday
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Bobby Miller (shoulder) threw a three-inning simulated game consisting of 51 pitches on Tuesday. Manager Dave Roberts said that next up for Miller will be a minor-league rehab game with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday. Because Miller has been out since April 13 with right-shoulder inflammation, fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to return to LA's starting rotation after just one rehab start. However, the 25-year-old is getting much closer to making his return and should be stashed in an IL spot in all fantasy leagues because of his high-end upside on one of the best teams in baseball. The former 29th overall pick in 2020 out of Louisville went 11-4 with an ERA under 4.00 and 119 K's in 124 1/3 innings in his first 22 MLB starts for the Blue in 2023.
