Disappointing Stretch Continues for Bobby Miller

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller spent most of the 2025 season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, and he has struggled. Across 64.2 innings at Triple-A, Miller owns a 5.15 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, and just a 2.4 percent strikeout minus walk rate. The latter mark is the fourth worst among all starters at Triple-A this season with at least 50 innings. It's been a frustrating couple of years for the flamethrowing right-hander, as he's made just one start in the majors this season at home against the Rockies, and coughed up six runs in three innings. After looking like one of baseball's brightest young starters in 2023, it's been a nightmarish two years to follow. Only 26 years old, he'll look to bounce back in the second half and generate some positive momentum.

Bobby Miller Recalled Ahead of Saturday's Contest

The Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to promote right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller ahead of their contest on Saturday evening against the New York Mets. The 26-year-old made one appearance with the Dodgers earlier this season and stumbled as he allowed eight hits and six earned runs. Fantasy managers should expect Miller to provide depth as a long-relief option. Last season, Miller struggled during his sophomore campaign as he posted a high 8.52 ERA with a 1.77 WHIP across 56 innings of work. However, he showed strong promise during his rookie season, holding a 3.76 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP. Through 35 innings at Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, the right-hander has posted a modest 4.63 ERA with a 1.49 WHIP. Given his projected role as a low-leverage relief option, he is not worth rostering in any standard leagues.

Bobby Miller Optioned To Triple-A

The Los Angeles Dodgers have optioned right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday. The 26-year-old was promoted prior to Wednesday's contest to make a spot-start against the Colorado Rockies. In this outing, Miller tossed three innings of six-run ball. He allowed eight hits, one walk, and struck out seven. While Miller flashed elite strikeout upside, he was unable to limit the Colorado bats. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status with Triple-A, as he will likely be in the mix to return to the Dodgers later in the summer. Sending Miller back to Triple-A will likely open a spot on the roster for relief pitcher Evan Phillips (shoulder), who is on the verge of returning to the major leagues. Last season, Miller struggled in the majors as well, as he logged 56 innings to the tune of an 8.52 ERA with a 1.77 WHIP. Fantasy managers should not consider stashing Miller while he is with Oklahoma City.

Bobby Miller To Start On Wednesday Against Rockies

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Bobby Miller will be called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to make the start against the division-rival Colorado Rockies on Wednesday at Dodger Stadium. Miller will be making his first big-league start of the 2025 season after struggling to the tune of an 8.52 ERA (6.97 FIP), 1.77 WHIP and 52:30 K:BB in 13 starts over 56 innings in his second major-league season with L.A. in 2024. The 26-year-old only allowed three earned runs in 12 innings over three appearances (two starts) for OKC while striking out 11, but he also walked 11. The matchup will be an excellent one on Wednesday in his spot start against the last-place Rockies, but he'll be a volatile fantasy streamer in deeper leagues and for those playing DFS. In his rookie year in 2023, Miller had a 3.76 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 119 K's and 32 walks in 22 starts.

Bobby Miller Could Earn Promotion

According to Sonja Chen of MLB.com, Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller could be a candidate to see a spot start. Chen noted that Miller was not a candidate to see opportunities during their series in D.C., as Miller pitched for Triple-A on Sunday. However, with extra days of rest, the Dodgers could turn to Miller to start a game later this weekend or during the early part of next week. Tony Gonsolin (back) is currently ramping up his workload but may not be officially cleared to return by next week, which could open the door for Miller. Last summer, Miller took a significant step back in the majors as he posted a high 8.52 ERA across 56 innings. In his debut campaign in 2023, Miller performed quite well, tallying 119 punchouts in 124 innings with a 3.76 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. He is worth monitoring as he could have value in deeper formats if given an opportunity.

Bobby Miller Optioned To Triple-A

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller was optioned to Triple-A. Miller was competing for a spot on the Opening Day roster but will begin his season with Triple-A Oklahoma City instead. After a promising rookie season where he posted a 3.76 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP across 124 1/3 frames, he took a significant step back in 2024. Last summer, Miller tossed 56 innings to the tune of a high 8.52 ERA and a 1.77 WHIP. He tallied 52 punchouts and served up walks at a high 11.6 percent rate. He also generated a hefty 47.2 percent hard-hit rate and a 11.5 percent barrel rate, which placed him in the second and third percentiles respectively. Fantasy managers should monitor his status at Triple-A as he could return to the majors if the Dodgers need additional depth later in the summer. He should not be targeted in any redraft formats.

Bobby Miller Out Of Concussion Protocol

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Bobby Miller (head) is out of concussion protocol and has resumed throwing bullpen sessions. The 25-year-old was struck by a comebacker in their first spring training contest. However, it appears Miller is nearing a return to action and has not faced any setbacks. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could be cleared to return to the Cactus League in the coming days. After an impressive rookie campaign, the young right-hander took a step back last season as he held an 8.52 ERA with a 1.77 WHIP across 56 innings of work. In 2023, Miller posted a promising 3.76 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP and 119 punchouts across 124 1/3 innings. Miller will likely continue to compete for a role at the back of the Dodgers rotation. However, given their current starting pitching depth, he may need to open the season at Triple-A.

Bobby Miller To Resume Throwing On Monday

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that right-hander Bobby Miller (head) will resume throwing on Monday in camp. In a scary scene in the team's Cactus League opener last Thursday against the Chicago Cubs, Miller was hit in the head by a line drive. The 25-year-old thankfully was able to walk off the field under his own power, but he was put in the league's concussion protocol and didn't throw over the weekend. He avoided a serious injury, though, and seemingly has cleared the concussion protocol. Barring a setback, it looks like Miller will be ready for Opening Day in Tokyo, Japan, on March 18 against the Chicago Cubs, but it's unclear when he might be allowed to pitch in another Cactus League game. After struggling mightily in his second year in 2024 with the Dodgers, dealing with an injury and being demoted to the minors, Miller is no lock to make the Opening Day roster.

Bobby Miller Still Experiencing Headaches

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Bobby Miller (concussion) is still dealing with headaches and drowsiness but could have been "a lot worse." Miller took a comebacker to the head during their first spring training contest on Thursday afternoon. After the contest, Miller entered concussion protocol. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status during the spring, as he may need to miss time early in the season, depending on the severity of his concussion. Last season, the 25-year-old logged 56 innings in the majors and held an 8.52 ERA and a 1.77 WHIP. However, during his rookie campaign in 2023, the right-hander was quite effective as he posted a 3.76 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. He tallied 119 punchouts across 124 1/3 innings of work. When he returns to action, Miller could compete for a role at the back of the starting rotation.

Bobby Miller Avoids Serious Injury

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that right-hander Bobby Miller (head) didn't sustain any fractures when he was hit in the head by a line drive in the team's Cactus League opener on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs. Miller came into camp on Friday with a headache and is officially in the league's concussion protocol, but it sounds as though he avoided a significant injury. Roberts also added that the Dodgers are hoping the 25-year-old will be able to throw soon. It's great news after a very scary situation on Thursday. Miller looked good in his rookie season in 2023 but then had a disastrous follow-up in 2024, posting an 8.52 ERA (6.97 FIP) and 1.77 WHIP with 52 strikeouts and 30 walks in 56 innings over 13 innings before being shipped to the minors. He gave up a lot of hard contact, and it's a good bet he'll open the 2025 season on the farm.
