New York Mets infielder Jonathan Arauz has been recalled ahead of Wednesday's game against the Kansas City Royals. The 24-year-old is set to make his Mets' debut after playing 95 games in Triple-A Syracuse. During that time, Arauz held a .773 OPS with 14 home runs and two steals. He played with both the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles previously. He'll cover second base and bat seventh versus left-hander Cole Ragans on Wednesday.
Boston Red Sox infielder Jonathan Arauz hit his third home run of the season Monday, going 1-for-5 with two runs scored in an 11-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Arauz has gotten plenty of playing time filling in for Kike Hernandez and Xander Bogaerts while they've been out with COVID, but he stands to lose some of those opportunities with Hernandez set to return. He should not be rostered in any fantasy format.
Boston Red Sox infielder Jonathan Arauz is available to play Monday, though he is not in the starting lineup. Yairo Munoz is in the lineup at second base. Arauz left Sunday's game after appearing to tweak something swinging the bat, and it's good news that he's managed to avoid missing any time. Arauz is expected to get the lion's share of playing time at second base with Kike Hernandez and Christian Arroyo out with COVID-19, but he can be left on waiver wires as he has produced a .566 OPS with one homer in 37 at-bats this season.
Boston Red Sox infielder Jonathan Arauz got the start at second base batting ninth Friday against Cleveland after both Kike Hernandez and Christian Arroyo were placed on the COVID list. He ended up delivering the biggest hit of the game, a three-run home run off reliever James Karinchak after he failed to get a bunt down on two attempts. Arauz may get more playing time in the short term, but he shouldn't be a fantasy consideration even in the deepest leagues.
Boston Red Sox infielder Jonathan Arauz was activated from the taxi squad Friday to start at third base against the Tampa Bay Rays for the injured Rafael Devers. He batted ninth, and went 2-for-3 with two singles and a walk. With Michael Chavis moving on to Pittsburgh, Arauz has an opportunity to stick with the big club in the short term, though his time may come to an end shortly if Rafael Devers' injury is as minor as manager Alex Cora would have fans believe. Either way, Arauz does not figure to factor into the fantasy picture.
Boston Red Sox shortstop Jonathan Arauz was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with a double and a home run in an 8-2 victory over the Rays on Friday. Arauz has been looking good through 11 games this spring, slashing .368/.429/.684 with three doubles, one home run and six RBI. He is likely on the outside looking in for a spot on the Opening Day roster, especially after a light-hitting 2020 campaign in which he slashed .250/.325/.319 with one home run and a 26.3 percent strikeout rate over 25 games. In deep AL-only leagues, Arauz could be a decent add when he's in the majors for his double-digit home run and steal potential.
