Rangers
The Texas Rangers have signed free-agent reliever Jonathan Holder to a minor-league deal and have invited him to big-league spring training. The 30-year-old has not appeared in the big leagues since the shortened 2020 season when he worked to a 4.98 ERA across 18 appearances with the Yankees. Holder pitched just 23 minor-league innings from 2021-2022 due to an undisclosed injury before latching on with the Angels in 2023. He spent the entire season with Triple-A Salt Lake in 2023, posting a 5.40 ERA across 46 outings, five of which were starts. The right-hander does have a pair of sub-4.00 ERA seasons on his big-league resume and sports a 4.38 career ERA across 157 appearances and 176 2/3 innings of work. He is likeliest to serve as bullpen depth for the Rangers in 2024.

Jonathan Holder Lands on Injured List
New York Yankees pitcher Jonathan Holder (shoulder) has been placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday. Holder is dealing with right shoulder inflammation, so he could be sidelined multiple weeks. He has a 6.31 ERA in 34 games (one start) with the Yankees this season. Stephen Tarpley has been recalled to take his spot on the active roster. Tarpley has been roughed up this season, so he's not a fantasy option in any leagues.

Jonathan Holder Will Open on Tuesday
New York Yankees relief pitcher Jonathan Holder is scheduled to be the opener for Tuesday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Holder made a start for the Yankees last season, but it's the first time he's doing it this year. He has a 6.28 ERA, so he's not a favorable fantasy option, even against the Orioles lineup.

Jonathan Holder Optioned To Triple-A
The New York Yankees optioned relief pitcher Jonathan Holder to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after his implosion on Monday night against the Toronto Blue Jays. He coughed up five earned runs and five hits, including a grand slam to Freddy Galvis and a solo shot to Lourdes Gurriel Jr., and he was unable to retire a single batter. His ERA ballooned from 5.55 to 6.81 as a result. He was tagged for 13 earned runs with six homers allowed over his past 5 1/3 innings over his past six appearances. That's simply not going to cut the mustard. Stephen Tarpley might be summoned to replace him.

Jonathan Holder Earns Win In Relief
After New York Yankees starting pitcherJames Paxton exited following just three innings with a knee injury, the Yankees went to Jonathan Holder out of the bullpen Friday night at Yankee Stadium. The 25-year-old's season thus far can be split in half in terms of productivity. While he allowed at least one run in six of his first seven outings, Friday's effort extend his scoreless-appearance streak to five in a row. Holder went two innings without allowing a hit, striking out two en route to his second win of the year. His ERA has dropped from 7.00 to 4.00 during this scoreless streak.

Jonathan Holder To Start Monday
New York Yankees relief pitcher Jonathan Holder will serve as the opener against the Rays on Monday. Holder is 1-3 and has a nice 2.97 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 58 strikeouts over 63 2/3 innings in 57 outings. It'll be the 25-year-old's first career major league start, and he's unlikely to go more than a couple innings. Avoid Holder as a streaming option in fantasy.

Jonathan Holder Implodes In Blowout Loss
The first man out of the New York Yankees bullpen was Jonathan Holder on Thursday night after CC Sabathia managed just three innings. Taking on the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, the 25-year-old easily had his worst outing of the season, allowing seven runs without recording a single out. The woeful performance saw his ERA jump from 2.06 to 3.50, as the Red Sox wound up scoring eight runs in the inning. Holder had made three appearances against Boston prior to this outing, having allowed one run across 3 1/3 innings. His positioning in the bullpens pecking order might have taken a significant hit on the night, as the Yankees fell five games behind the Red Sox in the loss column.

Jonathan Holder Remains A Menace Out Of Bullpen
The New York Yankees bullpen is arguably their strongest weapon, right up there with their fear-inducing offense. While Dellin Betances is currently the class of the unit, not far behind is Jonathan Holder. The 25-year-old tossed 2 1/3 perfect innings Wednesday night, striking out two along the way. That makes 20 consecutive appearances without an earned run, a stretch that dates back to the beginning of April. During the streak, hes tossed 22 innings, allowing only nine hits and three walks while striking out 21. While ultimately not meaning much in terms of fantasy stats, as he only has four holds and is out of the closer picture, he remains a consistent stopper that piles up scoreless outings.

Jonathan Holder Escapes Mega Jam In Victory
After starter Sonny Gray put the first two runners on the corners to kick off the sixth inning Monday night at Nationals Park, the New York Yankees went to reliever Jonathan Holder. Clinging on to a two-run lead, Holder had his work cut out for him, but he came up huge to preserve the lead. The 25-year-old struck out the first batter he faced, before striking out a pinch-hitter and inducing one final pop-up to the shortstop, escaping with the two-run lead intact. Holder continues to elevate his status in the Yankees bullpen, now with a 2.19 ERA through 23 games.

Jonathan Holder Wins Final Spot In Yankees Bullpen
The final spot in the New York Yankees bullpen was decided today, as the the club optioned Domingo German to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, leaving Jonathan Holder the winner. The 24-year-old has made sporadic appearances with the club the past two seasons, making a bigger impact in 2017. This year in Spring Training, he was solid, posting a 1.80 ERA with a pair of saves in seven appearances, striking out 11 along the way. German, meanwhile, was also very effective this spring, though ultimately it wasnt enough. Regardless, you should expect to see him called up at the first sign of injury trouble on the New York pitching staff.
