Veteran outfielder Josh Reddick has agreed to a contract with Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale. The 35-year-old spent the past 13 years playing in the majors. For the 2021 season, he was a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He slashed .258/.285/.371 with two home runs and 21 RBI over 54 games last year. He had a career-low 3.8% walk rate in 2021 and he also saw some troubling power declines, with a career-low 2.5% barrel rate. We'll see if he can revive his career in Mexico.
The New York Mets have signed free-agent outfielder Josh Reddick to a minor league deal, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. The Arizona Diamondbacks released him on Monday after he was designated for assignment. It's been a poor season at the plate for Reddick, who has slashed .258/.285/.371 with two home runs over 54 games. The signing is just a move for outfield depth, as the Mets already have Kevin Pillar and Albert Almora Jr. on their bench. Reddick provides no fantasy value and can be ignored in all formats.
The Arizona Diamondbacks released outfielder Josh Reddick on Monday. The 34-year-old was designated for assignment last week but will become a free agent instead of reporting to Triple-A Reno. He slashed .258/.285/.371 with two home runs, 21 RBI, and 15 runs scored across 158 plate appearances for the Diamondbacks in 2021. Reddick will look to latch onto another team and prove he has something left in the tank. Fantasy managers can leave the veteran outfielder on the waiver wire in all league formats.
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Josh Reddick(illness) was taken out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Texas Rangers, Evan Grant from the Dallas Morning News reports. It is a non-COVID-19-related illness. Fantasy managers shouldn't pay much attention to the news, as Reddick provides almost no value. He's slashing .268/.295/.366 this season with one home run in 49 games and hasn't been an above-average hitter since 2017. For now, those that are relying on Reddick in NL-only leagues can consider the left-handed hitter day-to-day.
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Josh Reddick went 2-for-3 with a walk in a 9-3 loss to the Rockies on Thursday. He's been having a nice stretch at the plate over his last 15 games, where he's slashing .311/.354/.422 with one home run, seven RBI and seven runs scored. While he's picked up the pace at the plate, his season line hasn't shown much value in fantasy, as he's slashing .276/.301/.386 with one homer, 16 RBI and 12 runs scored over 40 games. If he continues to put up the numbers he has shown recently, Reddick is worth looking at in NL-only formats.
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Josh Reddick went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in a 9-2 win over the Cardinals on Sunday. Reddick has looked fairly solid over his first 10 games of the season, hitting 12-for-37 with five doubles, three RBI and four runs scored. That being said, it seems like Reddick's value is looking pretty empty in terms of fantasy, with no home runs or steals, and he's really only getting playing time as a fourth outfielder. In very deep mixed leagues or NL-only formats, then maybe managers might want to consider targeting him off the waiver-wire, but for the majority of formats he can be safely ignored.
Free-agent outfielder Josh Reddick has signed a minor league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday and will report to the team's alternate site, according to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. Reddick spent last year with the Houston Astros, where he slashed .245/.316/.378 with four home runs and 23 RBI in 56 games. His .378 slugging percentage was his lowest mark since 2010 with Boston, and his .358 xSLG suggests he was actually over-performing at the plate. He might have some value in deep on-base percentage formats if he gets called up, as he posted a 9.5 percent walk rate in 2020. Outside of that, though, most fantasy managers can leave Reddick on the waiver wire.
Houston Astros outfielder Josh Reddick is not in the starting lineup on Monday as the team faces left-hander Kyle Freeland and the Colorado Rockies. Reddick had hit second in the lineup for the team's past seven games, but Abraham Toro is filling in as the two-hitter on Monday. George Springer is shifting over to cover Reddick's normal position of right field and Myles Straw is getting the start in center field. Reddick has hit just .212 against lefties this year, but he hit .309 against them last year so this may be nothing more than just a routine day off.
Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker is giving outfielder Josh Reddick the leg up in the right field competition over youngster Kyle Tucker. Baker intimated that Tucker will have to win the job from Reddick, who is in the fourth year of his contract. The future is probably Tuckers, but the now is probably Reddicks, Baker said. Tucker was much better in his 22 games last September than he was in his rookie season, and Reddick hit .275 with 14 home runs and 56 RBI last year while playing Gold Glove-caliber defense. The 33-year-old veteran will have to keep producing to keep his starting job. Reddick could benefit from the short season, but he's still mostly an asset for depth in AL-only leagues and he could lose his job in 2020.
Houston Astros outfielder Josh Reddick (shoulder) said he will make his Grapefruit League debut possibly as early as this weekend. Reddick is healed from offseason left shoulder surgery but arrived at camp on a personal workout plan. The Astros are just being cautious with the 33-year-old, and he should be fine in time for Opening Day. Reddick hit a useful .275/.319/.409 with 14 home runs, 56 RBI and five steals in 141 games last year, but he doesn't play frequently enough to contribute relevant numbers in the counting stats in shallow mixed leagues. He'll be battling for playing time in right field in a loaded outfield picture in Houston, too.
