Free-agent right-hander Luis Perdomo agreed to a minor-league deal that includes an invitation to major-league spring training on Thursday with the Washington Nationals, according to sources. Perdomo increased his value in the big leagues after posting a 2.13 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, one save, 15 walks and 41 strikeouts in 50 2/3 relief innings for Chiba Lotte of Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan last year. The 30-year-old Dominican hurler has made 61 starts in six career seasons in the majors, but he's most likely to stick in a relief role as he tries to earn a roster spot in Washington's bullpen out of spring training. Perdomo is off the fantasy radar altogether and has a 5.12 ERA (4.46 FIP) and 1.49 WHIP in 468 career major-league innings over 147 appearances (61 starts).
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Luis Perdomo (calf) has been placed on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to Sept. 24, with a right calf strain. This move clears up a roster spot for the Brewers to activate starter Freddy Peralta (shoulder), who is starting on Sunday vs. the Cincinnati Reds. The 29-year-old Perdomo has a 3.80 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 23 2/3 innings of relief this season.
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Luis Perdomo (elbow) is currently on a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville, and he worked one inning while allowing a run on two hits in his second appearance last Saturday. Perdomo has been out since May 28 with a right elbow effusion, but he's working his way back and could be activated for the start of the second half of the season later this week. However, the 29-year-old won't be fantasy relevant in a low-leverage bullpen role for Milwaukee. Before his injury, he had pitched well in 10 1/3 relief innings, giving up just two earned runs on nine hits while striking out three and walking two for the Brew Crew.
San Diego Padres pitcher Luis Perdomo (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery last week and will miss the entire 2021 season. The 27-year-old was once a staple in the Friars staff, making 64 appearances (49 starts) across 2016-2017, but struggled to achieve consistency in the majors. Relegated to long relief and mop-up duties in 2020, Perdomo posted a 5.71 ERA over 17 1/3 frames. Not a free agent until 2023, Perdomo will look to rebound in 2022 to revitalize his career once hes fully recovered.
Luis Perdomo Starting Monday, Garrett Richards Pushed To Tuesday
San Diego Padres starter Garrett Richards start will be pushed to Tuesday, with pitcher Luis Perdomo drawing Mondays start against the Los Angeles Dodgers. After the demotion of Joey Lucchesi last week, the move will keep Richards on schedule while shifting Mondays contest to a bullpen game. The 32-year-old Richards has been mediocre through three outings with a 4.60 ERA, but lines up for a two-start week against Los Angeles tomorrow then the Arizona Diamondbacks Sunday. With Perdomo not expected to toss five inning, long reliever Cal Quantrill is the better option for fantasy managers fishing for wins on Monday.
Luis Perdomo Tabbed For Start Tuesday, Role Unknown
San Diego Padres right-handed pitcher Luis Perdomo has been announced as the starter for Tuesdays game against the Dodgers. Although having been a starter in the past, just one of Perdomos 50 appearances over the past two years have been as the starter, so its well within the realm of possibility that he is merely the opener. Walks have proven to be Perdomos bugaboo at the big league level, averaging 4.4 BB/9 in 2018, the last time that he was a full-time starter. Of the 67 pitches that he has thrown out of relief this year, not one has been barrelled up, but despite the early success, his likely pitch limit and match-up with the Dodgers makes him a non-entity for the fantasy community.
San Diego Padres starter Luis Perdomo was placed on the disabled list Saturday with a shoulder strain. Perdomo was rocked for six earned runs in 2 1/3 innings on Friday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Since his recall from Triple-A El Paso on July 4, Perdomo was 0-4 with a 7.71 ERA and 1.79 WHIP in five starts. It's unclear when or if Perdomo will return to the Padres rotation and he holds essentially no fantasy value. The Friars have yet to announce who will make Perdomo's next scheduled start on August 2.
San Diego Padres starter Luis Perdomo was recalled from Triple-A El Paso and is starting Wednesday against the Oakland Athletics. Perdomo returns to the Friars rotation after spending almost three months in the minors working on his mechanics. He posted a 3.10 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 11 Triple-A starts. Perdomo was rocked in four starts for the Padres before being sent down with an 8.36 ERA, 2.50 WHIP and 42 percent hard-hit rate. Perdomo has tantalizing stuff and manager Andy Green believes he could "be here the rest of the [season]" if his adjustments lead to more consistency. Due to his volatile track record, Perdomo is best left on the waiver wire in his return on Wednesday.
Luis Perdomo Sent To Minors, Kirby Yates Activated
Confirming speculation, San Diego Padres starter Luis Perdomo was optioned Thursday to Triple-A El Paso. Right-handed reliever Kirby Yates (ankle) will be activated from the disabled list Friday. Perdomo had struggled mightily in four starts to a 8.36 ERA and 2.50 WHIP. The Padres haven't announced Perdomo's replacement, but might stick with starter/reliever Robbie Erlin and are considered promoting prospect Eric Lauer. Meanwhile, Yates was sporting a shiny 0.00 ERA and 0.55 WHIP with five strikeouts through 3 2/3 innings before his injury. He should slot back into his role as the Padres primary setup man. With a career 11.7 K/9 and likely the next man up as closer, Yates could merit deep league consideration for ratios, strikeouts and potential rogue wins and saves.
Luis Perdomo Risks Demotion After Disastrous Outing
San Diego Padres starting pitcher Luis Perdomo was awful in Wednesday's loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers, allowing nine runs (seven earned) in three innings pitched. Perdomo was hit hard all night, giving up 10 hits with two walks and four strikeouts. After the game, manager Andy Green was blunt. "This is Major League Baseball. You've got to pitch better than that." After pitcher Dinelson Lamet (elbow) was sidelined for the season, Perdomo just had to be average to remain a starter. Now, there's serious risk he'll be demoted. It could be for the best. Perdomo is just 24 and the Padres have a young crop of pitching prospects awaiting their chance. Either way, his 8.36 ERA and 2.50 WHIP merits zero fantasy consideration.
