Luke Voit News
The New York Mets released first baseman Luke Voit on Tuesday after he had just a .455 OPS in 14 Grapefruit League games this spring. It was announced on Monday that Voit wouldn't make the Mets' Opening Day roster, and now he'll be looking for a new organization to play for in 2024. The 33-year-old right-handed slugger led all of baseball in home runs in the shortened 2020 season with 22. He hit 22 home runs in 135 games in 2022 with the San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals but then played in only 22 games in 2023 with the Milwaukee Brewers and hit .221 (15-for-68) with no homers and four RBI. Voit should be able to latch on with another team, but it will likely be on a minor-league contract.

Jose Iglesias, Luke Voit Won't Make Mets Opening Day Roster
The New York Mets have informed Jose Iglesias, Tomas Nido, and Luke Voit that they did not make the team's Opening Day roster. Voit signed a minor-league contract with the Mets in February but failed to latch onto the team's main roster after hitting .097 with a home run and four RBI over 31 spring at-bats. Iglesias had a solid spring, but it wasn't enough to make the team's Opening Day roster. This spring, he hit .278 with a home run and three RBI over 36 at-bats. Both Voit and Iglesias will look to latch onto another team. Neither Iglesias nor Voit will provide much fantasy value even if they sign with another club ahead of 2024 fantasy drafts.

Mets Agree On Minors Deal With Luke Voit
The New York Mets agreed to terms on a minor-league deal with an invitation to major-league spring training on Monday with free-agent first baseman/designated hitter Luke Voit. The 33-year-old right-handed slugger will return to the Mets after finishing the 2023 campaign playing for Triple-A Syracuse, where he had a strong 1.058 OPS with 14 home runs in 37 games. The veteran slugger played in 22 big-league games with the Milwaukee Brewers earlier in the year before getting released. He went 15-for-68 (.221) with no home runs and four RBI in his short stint in Milwaukee. Voit will open the 2024 season providing bench depth for the Mets, and there's a good chance he'll return to Syracuse.

Luke Voit Opts Out Of Minors Deal With Mets
New York Mets first baseman Luke Voit has opted out of his minor-league deal with the club. Voit signed a minor-league deal with the Mets after being released by the Brewers in early June and has absolutely raked at Triple-A Syracuse. The 2020 MLB home run leader smacked 14 homers along with a 1.058 OPS across just 37 games at the minors' highest level with the Mets, figures that he hopes will earn him a big-league deal with a contender down the stretch as he has now hit the free-agent market once again. Voit hit 22 homers with a .710 OPS and a 102 wRC+ between the Nationals and Padres last season but has still been unable to find a full-time role on a big league club in the 2023 season.

Mets Sign Luke Voit To Minor-League Deal
The New York Mets signed free-agent first baseman Luke Voit to a minor-league deal on Monday. He will join Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday. Voit has fallen far since leading the majors with 22 home runs in the COVID-shortened 2020 season with the New York Yankees. He hit just 11 homers the following season and had 22 total long balls in 2022 with the San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals. With Pete Alonso (wrist) potentially missing the next three to four weeks with a left-wrist injury, Voit will give the Mets some more first base depth behind Mark Vientos and Mark Canha. Voit hit just .221 (15-for-68) with three doubles, no homers, four RBI and 27 strikeouts in 22 games for the Milwaukee Brewers this year before he was ultimately released.

Luke Voit Released By Brewers
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Luke Voit has been released by the organization on Friday. He was designated for assignment earlier in the week, but will now head to free agency. The 32-year-old batted just .221/.284/.265 with zero homers and four RBI in 17 games before landing on the injured list. He has put together multiple 20-plus home run seasons, so he should be able to find another organization. Fantasy managers can use a wait-and -see approach here as his fantasy value will depend on where he lands.

Luke Voit Designated For Assignment Monday
The Milwaukee Brewers activated first baseman Luke Voit (neck) from the 10-day injured list on Monday and then designated him for assignment. Voit hit .221 (15-for-68) with three doubles, no home runs, four RBI, two stolen bases, five runs scored and 27 strikeouts in 74 plate appearances and 22 games for the Brew Crew before he landed on the injured list. For now, the Brewers will stick with Darin Ruf as a platoon option at first base and designated hitter, although Voit could stick around in the organization if he clears waivers. The 32-year-old right-handed slugger led the big leagues in home runs (22) in the COVID-shortened 2020 season (56 games), but he slugged 22 homers again last year in 135 games with the Padres and Nationals.

Luke Voit Sent On Rehab Assignment
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Luke Voit (neck) was sent to Triple-A Nashville for a rehab assignment. The 32-year-old has struggled in his first season in Milwaukee, batting .221 with 15 hits and 27 strikeouts in 68 at-bats. Hopefully, some time away from the big club will do Voit some good. But until he gets his act together from a production standpoint, he shouldn't be on any fantasy roster.

Luke Voit Placed On Injured List
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Luke Voit (neck) has been placed on the 10-day injured list. It's uncertain when Voit picked up the injury, but it appears he's dealing with a strained neck. That being said, the Brewers are uncertain of the severity, so they haven't given a timetable on his return. He was struggling at the plate, slashing just .221/.284/.265 with zero homers, four RBI. The Brewers have signed first baseman Darin Ruf to a one-year deal, so he'll likely see regular at-bats until Voit returns. Ruf hasn't done enough with the bat this season to warrant rostering in most formats.

Luke Voit Returns To Starting Lineup Wednesday
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Luke Voit will return to the club's starting lineup Wednesday versus the D-backs and right-hander Drey Jameson. Voit sat out Tuesday night's 7-1 win over the D-backs and will appear in his sixth game of the season Wednesday. The 2020 home run king is struggling out of the gate this season, going just 2-for-16 without an extra-base hit in that time. However, he still managed to club 22 home runs between the Padres and Nationals last season but will struggle to see everyday playing time behind Rowdy Tellez at first base and Jesse Winker at designated hitter with the Brewers in 2023.
