San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Matt Cain threw 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball against the Dodgers on Monday, striking out five and walking three. It was a nice start against a tough Dodgers lineup, and Cain earned his third win of the season with his effort. He gets another tough matchup next time out against the Cardinals and should only be owned in deep mixed or NL-only formats.

Cain has a 4.54 ERA on the season and is not a viable fantasy option outside of NL-only or other deep formats. Cain has an ugly 4.29 BB/9 and lackluster 6.81 K/9, giving him a 4.40 FIP and 5.00 xFIP. Avoid him in his next start against the Dodgers.
