Matt Peacock Optioned To Minors

Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Matt Peacock has been optioned to the minors on Saturday. The 27-year-old wasn't pitching bad in the MLB, but it sounds like Arizona wanted a fresh arm. They recalled right-hander Humberto Castellanos for Saturday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Peacock posted a 4.90 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 86 1/3 innings with the Diamondbacks this season. He tossed a scoreless inning on Friday before being optioned here. There isn't fantasy value with Peacock, but he could be a bullpen piece for the Diamondbacks down the road.

Matt Peacock Placed On Bereavement List

Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Matt Peacock was placed on the bereavement list Monday. The 27-year-old will be off the roster for the next three to seven days. He could make his next start Friday on the road against the Padres. Peacock owns a (0-4) record in June along with a 6.61 ERA, 2.27 WHIP, and a 9:12 K: BB across 16 1/3 innings. Fantasy managers can leave Peacock on the waiver wire until he turns things around. Humberto Castellanos was recalled by the Diamondbacks in a corresponding move.

Matt Peacock Earns Loss Against Dodgers Saturday

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Matt Peacock allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three in five innings of work against the Dodgers on Saturday. Peacock has been struggling in June, as he has lost four straight starts and has posted a 6.61 ERA with nine strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings of work this month. This month has now brought his season numbers to a 2-5 record and 5.28 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 44 1/3 innings of work. He had a couple solid starts in late May and looked like a potential streaming option, but until he turns things around managers can leave him on the waiver-wire.

Matt Peacock Injured On Wednesday

Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Matt Peacock (finger) left Wednesday's matchup against the Athletics. Peacock injured his right ring finger while attempting to barehand a Jed Lowrie comebacker, and while X-rays were negative, he was diagnosed with numbness. The righty is 2-3 throughout five starts this season while also racking up a 5.24 ERA to go along with 24 strikeouts. With multiple injuries throughout the Diamondbacks' rotation, Peacock has been getting some extra run as of late. Although it is unknown if he will take a trip to the 10-day, it still isn't good news for fantasy managers utilizing him to fill a void

Matt Peacock Earns Second Win Of Year On Sunday

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Matt Peacock pitched a quality start on Sunday against the Cardinals, allowing two runs on six hits over six innings in a 9-2 win over the Cardinals. Peacock struck out a career-high six batters in his third start of the year, as he now has 21 strikeouts over 28 innings this season. Since moving from the bullpen to the rotation, Peacock has looked good with a 3.31 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings of work. He's looking like a guy to roster in NL-only formats, and he could be a decent streaming option in deeper mixed leagues. He'll be a good streaming option in his next outing against the Brewers, as they are tied for the fourth-highest strikeout rate at 26.7 percent while also posting a .211 team average.
