Atlanta Braves infielder Ryan Flaherty, who joined the Braves after being released by the Phillies, didn't do much to impress his new team on Monday night, going 0-for-2. Let's be serious here -- much as his teammates apparently like him as a "clubhouse guy," he's not a fantasy thought at all. The man had a -0.1 WAR last year. Don't draft him unless you're like in a 20-team league, and even then you might have better players to consider for your bench.
Free agent infielder Ryan Flaherty is working on a deal with the Braves, according to Mark Bowman of MLB.com. Flaherty was in camp with the Phillies this spring, posting a .351 batting average, but was cut after not making the team's Opening Day roster. He would provide depth for the Braves, but has no fantasy value.
Free-agent infielder Ryan Flaherty signed to a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies, including an invitation to spring training. It is the second potential utility infielder brought in recently by the Phillies, as they also signed Adam Rosales last week to compete for a bench role. The 31-year-old Flaherty had spent his entire career in Baltimore up to this point, registering a career OPS of .639 while playing every position for the Orioles outside of catcher. That versatility could serve him well as he battles for a spot on the 25-man roster in Philadelphia.
