The Los Angeles Angels have recalled right-hander Taylor Cole from Triple-A Salt Lake. In turn, they optioned right-hander Williams Jerez to make room. This is simply a procedural move to get a fresh arm in the bullpen. Jerez will likely be back up when rosters expand in September. Cole has a 4.19 ERA in 19 1/3 innings this year, and will just be used in middle relief. He carries no fantasy relevance.
Los Angeles Angels relief pitcher Taylor Cole will get the start against the Texas Rangers on Thursday. He struggled during his first career start versus the Athletics, giving up three runs on three hits in just 1 1/3 innings. Cole has been solid out of the bullpen this season, but he's not worth adding in fantasy leagues. The Rangers don't have a great offense, but there is better DFS options than Cole on Thursday.
The Los Angeles Angels have recalled relievers Eduardo Paredes and Taylor Cole, while optioning infielder Nolan Fontana and sending reliever Jake Jewell to the disabled list. Jewell bent his ankle awkwardly in Wednesday's game and was carried off on a stretcher. Paredes has thrown 13 1/3 innings on the year, with a 7.43 ERA and a 2.03 WHIP. Neither Paredes or Cole figure to see any high leverage roles, and thus should not be owned in fantasy.
