Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tim Lopes was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday. Lopes will be replacing injured Tyrone Taylor on the team's roster. He is yet to play in a game for the Brewers in 2021, as the outfielder has been with Triple-A Nashville all season. In Nashville, Lopes was hitting .193 with three home runs and four swiped bags in 104 appearances at the plate.
Milwaukee Brewers utilityman Tim Lopes (oblique) has been placed on the 60-day injured list due to an oblique injury, putting him out for the foreseeable future. Lopes had been a long shot to make the Brewers' Opening Day roster, with the injury sealing that fate. Over the past two years with Seattle, Lopes compiled a .252/.315/.362 slash line, drawing starts at five different positions. His placement on the IL coincided with Jackie Bradley Jr. -- who is set to be an everyday part of the outfield -- officially joining Milwaukee. Lopes has no season-long fantasy intrigue at this stage as the Brewers continue to work their way through who will make their 26-man roster come April 1.
The Milwaukee Brewers claimed utility man Tim Lopes off waivers from the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday. The 26-year-old hit .238 with two home runs and 15 RBI in 46 games for the Mariners during the shortened 2020 season, adding a .278 on-base percentage and .364 slugging percentage. In 2019, Lopes hit .270 with a home run and 12 RBI in 41 games played, adding a .359 on-base percentage and .360 slugging percentage. He was let go by Seattle in order to add Chris Flexen after signing him to a two-year deal a few days ago. Lopes also added five steals in his 143 at-bats last season, playing primarily left and right field, but he also has some experience at second and third base. He'll provide depth in the infield and outfield for Milwaukee in 2021.
Seattle Mariners infielder Tim Lopes picked up two hits during the loss to the Oakland Athletics on Saturday. He also added a run. The 25-year-old has been solid this spring, racking up 10 hits (five doubles) on 20 at-bats to go along with seven RBI, while striking out only three times. With Shed Long struggling in preseason play thus far, fantasy managers will want to monitor this situation, especially if Lopes ends up gaining a roster spot.
Seattle Mariners infielder Tim Lopes went 1-for-2 with a hit and an RBI during the loss to the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. Lopes has stood out during spring training thus far, compiling seven hits (five doubles) and seven RBI in 13 at-bats while striking out only twice. He isn't a lock to make the opening day roster by any means, but with continued production of this magnitude moving ahead, the 25-year-old may find a permanent role for himself in the lineup sooner rather than later.
Seattle Mariners infielder Tim Lopes went 2-for-2 in the win over the Reds on Wednesday, doubling twice while also adding a run and an RBI. The 25-year-old has played exceptionally well this spring thus far, compiling a hit in each of his five plate appearances (four doubles) to go along with five RBI. Lopes isn't a lock to make the team's Opening Day roster, but if he continues to play well, he could find himself in the lineup at some point this season, especially if some moves are made during the year.
