Pirates
Per a tweet from FanSided's Robert Murray on Wednesday morning, pitcher Tyler Chatwood has reportedly agreed to a minor-league deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 32-year-old recently appeared in the Majors during the 2021 season, logging 32 games for the Toronto Blue Jays and San Francisco Giants. He pitched to a 5.63 ERA and a 3.95 FIP in those 32 innings, striking out 38 batters while allowing 21 walks. He'll provide the Pirates with some bullpen depth ahead of the upcoming season. The National League Central team's current late-inning options include closer David Bednar, Duane Underwood Jr. and Robert Stephenson.

Tyler Chatwood Designated For Assignment
Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Tyler Chatwood was designated for assignment on Friday to make room for the newly acquired Jose Berrios, according to Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic. Chatwood hasn't had great numbers this year, going 1-2 with a 5.46 ERA, 1.429 WHIP and 25.6 percent strikeout rate over 28 innings of work. Any managers that had him rostered can safely drop him to the waiver wire now.

Tyler Chatwood Collects First Save
Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Tyler Chatwood notched his first save of the season on Sunday by protecting the team's 7-4 lead over the Orioles in the series finale. The right-hander worked around a leadoff walk by inducing the Baltimore hitters into three consecutive groundouts as Jordan Romano got the day off after throwing 28 pitches over two innings on Saturday. Chatwood has now put together six-straight outings without giving up a run after a rough patch that saw him allow 11 earned runs across 3.1 IP. The veteran has been mostly solid as a setup man for the Jays this season, although his 4.32 ERA and 1.32 WHIP don't suggest it.

Tyler Chatwood’s Struggles Continue Friday
Toronto Blue Jays reliever Tyler Chatwood had another woeful outing versus the Astros on Friday, allowing five runs without recording an out. The right-hander allowed six-straight hits in the eighth inning, including a three-run shot off the bat of Carlos Correa to blow the game open to 13-1. Chatwood began the year allowing just one earned run through his first 17 innings pitched, but the wheels have fallen off as he's now surrendered 11 earned runs over his last four appearances covering 3 1/3 innings of work. The 31-year-old was becoming a fantasy-relevant arm as one of the club's top setup men, but he's quickly fallen off the radar with these ugly outings.

Tyler Chatwood Blows First Save Opportunity Of Season
Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Tyler Chatwood was given the ninth inning with a 4-2 lead versus the Rays on Sunday, but was unable to lock down his first save of the season. The right-hander allowed a run on a pair of singles and two walks before leaving with two outs and the bases loaded. Left-hander Travis Bergen was then brought in to face Austin Meadows, but went on to allow three-straight walks which charged three more runs onto Chatwood's ERA. Chatwood had given up just one run on the season entering this game through 17 innings as the club's primary setup man and should bounce back after this rough outing. He's still third in the pecking order for saves with Rafael Dolis and Jordan Romano ahead of him on the depth chart, although his ratios were making him a viable RP option in deep leagues.

Tyler Chatwood Should Be Back Soon
Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Tyler Chatwood (triceps) "should be back, too, right away" when his 10-day injured list stint is up, according to pitching coach Pete Walker. Chatwood was scheduled to throw a live batting practice session on Tuesday after he threw a bullpen on Sunday. The 31-year-old veteran right-hander had pitched in 2 2/3 scoreless innings over three appearances in relief for the Blue Jays before suffering his injury. Chatwood should be back soon for Toronto, but he's of no real use in fantasy now that he's a full-time reliever for the Blue Jays. As a starter in 2020 for the Chicago Cubs, Chatwood had a 5.30 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 25:9 K:BB over 18 2/3 innings.

Tyler Chatwood Out With Biceps Injury
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Tyler Chatwood (biceps) hit the injured list on Friday. The veteran hurler had appeared in three games this season with four hits, one walk, and three strikeouts in 2.2 shutout innings. Traditionally a starter, this is the first season that Chatwood is working exclusively as a reliever so unfamiliarity with the routines and the rigors of pitching on short rest could have led to the issue. He had been asked to pitch three times in five days. When he returns from the right biceps injury, Chatwood may need to be used a little more cautiously until he acclimates himself to the new role. Young pitcher Joel Payamps was recalled to take the 31-year-old's place on the active roster.

Tyler Chatwood Headed To Injured List
The Toronto Blue Jays have placed pitcher Tyler Chatwood (triceps) on the 10-day injured list due to inflammation in his triceps. Chatwood has been active out of the bullpen for the team so far this year. He's made three appearances already, pitching 2 2/3 innings and allowing four hits, one walk and no runs while striking out three. The Blue Jays made multiple moves on Friday. They called up pitchers Joel Payamps and Ty Tice. Both could earn some opportunities out of the bullpen while Chatwood is sidelined.

Tyler Chatwood Will Work Out Of Bullpen In 2021
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Tyler Chatwood is expected to work as a reliever with his new club this season. Chatwood began his career as a starter for the Colorado Rockies, but bounced between the starting rotation and bullpen over the past three seasons with the Chicago Cubs. The right-hander has pitched well this spring with a 2.35 ERA and six strikeouts over 7 2/3 innings, but should be more valuable towards his real team versus fantasy teams this season. Chatwood could have some streamer appeal if he were to move back into the starting rotation, but for now can be left on the waiver wire.

Blue Jays Reach Agreement With Tyler Chatwood
The Toronto Blue Jays reached an agreement with right-hander Tyler Chatwood on a one-year, $3 million contract on Monday, according to a source. Chatwood will have the opportunity to earn another $2.5 million in incentives, according to Sportsnet's Shi Davidi. The 31-year-old is entering his 10th big league season and has played with the Angels, Rockies and Cubs. Spending the last three years with Chicago, Chatwood has a 4.70 ERA over 67 outings (30 starts) with the Cubbies. He finished with a 5.30 ERA and a career-high 12.1 K/9 over 18 2/3 innings (five starts) in the shortened 2020 season. Toronto is expected to use him out of the bullpen, which will kill most of his fantasy appeal. Chatwood has elite spin rates on his fastball and curveball, but he's averaged 4.7 walks per nine innings in his career, making him an inconsistent streamer when he's in the rotation.
