Tyler White Headed To The Dodgers

The Houston Astros are trading first baseman Tyler White to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Andre Scrubb. White was designated for assignment by the Astros last week. White has clear power potential as he hit a combined 26 home runs across Triple-A and the majors last year, but he's really struggled in 2019. Over 71 games this year, he has a slash line of .225/.320/.330 with just three home runs and 21 RBI. He figures to be a bench or platoon guy as a member of the Dodgers, if he remains in the big leagues. He can be left on waivers in all leagues.

Tyler White Has Been Designated for Assignment

Houston Astros first baseman Tyler White has been designated for assignment by the organization on Saturday. White is out of minor league options and hasn't played well enough to stay on the big league roster. He's hitting .225 with three home runs and 21 RBI with the Astros this season. White hit much better last year, but could regain some fantasy value if he lands on a team with an opportunity to play regularly. He's not worth grabbing right now, but wait and see where he ends up.

Tyler White To Lose Playing Time

Houston Astros first baseman Tyler White's playing time will become "a little more sporadic," according to manager A.J. Hinch. The 28-year-old has just 17 hits in 74 at-bats (.230) with no home runs and only three RBI. Yuli Gurriel will continue to see the bulk of playing time at first base as a result. You should only be holding onto White in AL-only leagues while he rides Houston's pine.

Tyler White Sitting Friday

Houston Astros first baseman Tyler White is not in the starting lineup on Friday against Rays starting pitcher Charlie Morton. Instead, outfielder Tony Kemp will serve as the designated hitter and will bat ninth. Kemp hit .263 with just six home runs, 30 RBI and nine stolen bases in 97 games last year for the Astros. He's mainly a speed guy but has limited DFS upside hitting at the bottom of the order. Kemp is one to avoid on Friday.

Tyler White Slugging .604 At Minute Maid Park

Houston Astros first baseman/designated hitter Tyler White will head into the playoffs as one of the hottest second-half hitters in their lineup. White has really emerged since the All-Star break, slashing .287/.350/.551 over his last 51 games with three triples, 10 home runs, 11 doubles and 39 runs batted in. White has also done some serious damage hitting at Minute Maid Park, posting a .292/.380/.604 with six doubles, nine home runs and 26 RBI in 35 home games. Almost all of the Astros hitters numbers take a slight dip at Minute Maid Park except for White. The 27-year-old is in line to play a significant role in the Astros 2018 playoff push.

Tyler White Slugging .446 In September

Houston Astros designated hitter/first baseman Tyler White has cooled off a touch after a scorching month of August but is still slugging .446 in September heading into Monday. White has 14 runs batted in through 19 September games and has five doubles over his last 12 games. White has been fantastic in the 45 games since the All-Star break, slashing .308/.373/.604 with three triples, 10 home runs, 11 doubles, 25 runs scored and 38 runs batted in. He has come out of nowhere to become a viable asset in fantasy in the final months and seems like a lock now to make the playoff roster. He is hitting only .217 over his last 23 at-bats but is slugging .517 against right-handed pitching this season. The Astros will play the Blue Jays beginning Monday and Toronto will send to the mound right-hander Marco Estrada.

Tyler White Slugging .623 Over Last 30 Games

Houston Astros designated hitter/first baseman Tyler White continues to produce and has seven runs batted in over his last seven games. White has seemingly come out of nowhere in the second half of the season and is slugging .623 over his last 30 games played. White has usurped at-bats from Evan Gattis and Yuli Gurriel over the last month or so and now is a cog in the Astros lineup. For the season, White is slashing .299/.382/.603 through 174 at-bats with three triples, 11 doubles, 12 home runs and 39 runs batted in. If White is still available, he is the type of late-season hot bat that needs to be on fantasy rosters.

Tyler White Adds Two Hits, RBI Single In Win

Houston Astros first baseman Tyler White went 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI single as the Astros edged the Tigers 3-2 on Monday. White singled home Alex Bregman to give Houston a 2-1 lead and then later scored on a single from Marwin Gonzalez. White continues to produce and took over the cleanup spot from Carlos Correa for Monday's game. After a fantastic month of August, White for the season is now hitting .308 with 11 home runs and 35 runs driven in through 159 at-bats. White should be added to any roster if he is still available in most fantasy formats.

Tyler White Continues To Produce

Houston Astros designated hitter Tyler White went 2-for-4 on Sunday with two doubles and two runs batted in against the Red Sox. White has really emerged in the second half to claim an everyday spot in the Astros lineup. After popping eight home runs and posting a slugging percentage of .711 in August, White has four doubles and seven runs batted in through eight September games. He has cut into the playing time of veterans like Evan Gattis and Josh Reddick moving forward. White for the season is slashing .301/.381/.609 with three triples, nine doubles, 11 home runs and 34 runs batted in through 156 at-bats.

Tyler White Has Hits In 20 Of Last 25 Games

Houston Astros first baseman Tyler White went 1-for-3 with a run scored in the Astros 4-1 win over the Twins. White has been a revelation in the second half of season, slashing .325/.385/.711 in August and now has hits in 20 of his last 25 games played. White is now hitting .307 this season thanks to slashing .333/.386/.686 with six doubles, nine home runs and 26 runs batted in through 29 games. White fits in at first base and designated hitter in the potent Astros offense and now is playing everyday. He is certainly worth a look off the waiver wire as a fantastic late-season addition.
