Yu Chang News
Cleveland Indians first baseman Yu Chang was recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday and is batting eighth in the lineup against Houston, according to Mandy Bell of MLB.com. To clear room on the roster, the Indians optioned relief pitcher Justin Garza to Triple-A. Chang did not look very good in his first stint with Cleveland this year, slashing .176/.211/.287 with two home runs, 14 RBI and 12 runs scored in 49 games. At Triple-A though, Chang has looked improved at the plate where he's hitting .310 with a .920 OPS over 11 games. Hopefully this time with Cleveland will produce better results, but for now there's no reason for managers to contemplate him as a viable option.
Cleveland Indians infielder Yu Chang went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, four RBI, and a solo home run in Thursday's 10-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles. It was a great day for Chang who now has two home runs on the season to go along with 14 RBI in 95 at-bats. He fills the Indians' need for a utility player very well, but does not get enough at-bats to garner much fantasy relevance.
Cleveland Indians first baseman Yu Chang will get the start at first in the Opening Day matchup with Detroit. Chang will start over Jake Bauers, who had beaten out Bobby Bradley for a spot on the roster out of Spring Training. He put up some good numbers this spring, slashing .282/.317/.692 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 18 games. He could be an interesting DFS play taking on Matthew Boyd today.
