The Seattle Mariners have acquired veteran relief pitcher Zach Duke from the Minnesota Twins. Multiple reports have pitcher Chase DeJong and infielder Ryan Costello headed back in exchange for Duke. This season Duke has a 3.62 ERA and 39/15 K/BB ratio over 37 1/3 innings with Minnesota. However, Seattle has plenty of late inning options, so Duke will likely just be a lefty specialist. He does not have much value besides in fantasy leagues that value holds.
St. Louis Cardinals left-handed pitcher Zach Duke was activated from the 60-day disabled list on Friday. Duke had Tommy John Surgery just nine months ago, but his recovery was remarkably quick and he's ready to go. The lefty reliever will pitch in middle relief at first, but with the Cardinals bullpen in disarray and Mike Matheny at the helm, it wouldn't be a huge shock to see Duke work himself into significant innings.
St. Louis Cardinals left-handed pitcher Zach Duke (elbow) is moving right along in his rehab assignment, moving up from the Gulf Coast League Cardinals to Single-A Palm Beach. In two outings for the Gulf Coast League team, Duke pitched two innings, allowing no runs on just one hit while striking out three.
