NBA DFS Picks for Wednesday March 20th

An eight-game slate tonight is the perfect recipe for some winning DFS lineups.  For the DFS projections and pricing, we will be using FanDuel and DraftKings.

NBA Quick Links

Point Guard

De’Aaron Fox (FD: $9,600, DK: $9,000): De’Aaron Fox is proving why he should’ve been an All-Star this season. He has been amazing as of late with 40+ fantasy points in 7 of his last 10 games. Furthermore, he has a juicy matchup tonight against the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors allow the third most points per game in March, while Fox’s Kings score the fifth most points per game in the same month. Fox should be a must-play today with his consistency and favorable opponent.

T.J. McConnell (FD: $5,700, DK: $4,500): T.J. McConnell is usually not a name you would think about putting in your DFS lineup with Tyrese Haliburton starting, but if you look at the last 10 games of his, you would be shocked. McConnell is averaging 13 points per game with 4.4 assists and almost 2 steals per game. He has been playing a lot more aggressively with Haliburton in a severe funk. If you want to go cheap for a point guard, I say McConnell is the perfect option.

Shooting Guard

Gary Trent Jr. (FD: $6,300, DK: $6,100): The Toronto Raptors are struggling right now. They are without Scottie Barnes for what looks like the rest of the season as they are in the midst of a seven-game losing streak. They need someone to take on the scoring load with Barnes out and that person has been Gary Trent Jr. For the month of March, Trent Jr. is averaging 20 points per game, which is an uptick from 12.7 for the entire season.

Dalano Banton (DK: $5,600): There comes a point in the season when teams that are out of the playoff hunt give several players chances to shine. The Portland Trail Blazers are doing just that with Dalano Banton. The young combo guard is getting a true shot and is making the most of it. Since March 4th, Banton has had 20+ fantasy points in every game but one.

Small Forward

Kelly Oubre Jr. (FD: $6,800, DK: $6,600): The Philadelphia 76ers have been missing their MVP, Joel Embiid, for quite a while now. They still have Tyrese Maxey, who made his first All-Star team this season, but need a second guy to step up in Embiid’s absence. Kelly Oubre Jr. has done just that in March. He is averaging 20.7 points per game this month. Furthermore, he has obtained 25+ fantasy points in eight of the nine games in March as well.

GG Jackson ( DK: $6,000): The Memphis Grizzlies are still riddled with injuries, but that has opened up more playing time for GG Jackson. Just last year, GG Jackson was the number one recruit in his high school class. Unfortunately, he struggled in his lone year at South Carolina. Now, he is becoming a key member of the future for the Grizzlies. In three of his last five games, Jackson has had 30+ fantasy points with the other two contests being in the 20s.

Power Forward

Bobby Portis (FD: $7,100, DK: $6,000): The Milwaukee Bucks have officially announced that Giannis Antetokounmpo is out tonight against the Boston Celtics. That means that Bobby Portis will have an enhanced role for the Bucks tonight. This past Sunday, we saw a marvelous game from Portis with Giannis not in the lineup. Portis dropped a 30 and 10 while making all five of his threes. Portis is one of the best players off the bench in the entire NBA, regardless of who is playing for the Bucks that night. However, tonight should be a good one for him with a little bit more opportunities at play.

Trayce Jackson-Davis (FD: $6,200): Trayce Jackson-Davis continues to earn more minutes after each game. The rookie big man just knows how to play his role off the bench for this Golden State Warriors team that is fighting for a playoff spot. He has now played over 20 minutes in his last five games while accumulating at least 20 fantasy points in that same stretch. His energy brings so much out of the Warriors when they go to the bench. His minutes will either stay where they are now or maybe even increase.

Center

Deandre Ayton (FD: $8,300, DK: $8,200): Deandre Ayton is somewhat of a polarizing player in this league. He tends to coast at times and not give A+ effort, but a switch has been flipped. Ayton has been a monster in the past few weeks. In his last six games, Ayton is averaging 26.8 and 15 rebounds per game!!!! The Portland Trail Blazers have no chance of making the postseason, but they are letting Ayton play and dominate.

Jusuf Nurkic (FD: $7,500, DK: $7,300): We talked earlier about how the Sixers will be without Embiid. That leaves the Sixers’ frontcourt quite small. A team with a glass-cleaning center can take advantage of their lack of size. That is where Jusuf Nurkic of the Phoenix Suns comes into play. He is no stranger to racking up rebounds, as he has had multiple 20+ rebound games this season, which includes a 31-rebound masterclass against the OKC Thunder.
