Golden State Warriors forward Alen Smailagic (ankle) has a chance to be cleared for Thursday's regular season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers. He was getting in some extra work after practice on Sunday, so that's a good sign moving forward. However, he shouldn't have a big enough role off the bench to make an impact in most fantasy leagues.
Golden State Warriors forward/center Alen Smailagic (ankle) is going to be sidelined for the foreseeable future, according to head coach Steve Kerr. Willie Cauley-Stein (foot) and Kevon Looney (hamstring) are already both sidelined. Smailagic had a decent chance at beginning the season in the starting five. However, an ankle sprain is going to force Smailagic to the sideline for at least a few weeks. Omari Spellman is expected to draw the start for Saturday's preseason opener. Spellman could be looking at a small boost in fantasy value with the Warriors banged up.
