Rockets
According to ESPN's Bobby Marks, the Rockets and center Alperen Sengun agreed to a five-year, $185 million contract extension. There were questions if and when this would get done. However, it appears Houston made it a priority to extend Sengun on the same day the team also rewarded Jalen Green with a new deal. The 2021 No. 16 overall pick had easily the best season of his career in 2023-24, averaging 21.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.2 steals. He's not the most proficient shot-blocker, something for category managers to consider. Sengun also logged only 63 games last season, so he'll need to stay on the floor more often throughout the 2024-25 campaign. If the 22-year-old can stay healthy, he has All-Star potential.

Alperen Sengun Could Miss Rest Of The Season
Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun (ankle) was diagnosed with a Grade 3 right ankle sprain. In addition, he also has a bone bruise in his right knee. Sengun's injury could have been much worse. However, the 21-year-old is expected to miss "several weeks" and is unlikely to return before the end of the regular season. Houston is grasping and clawing to make the Play-In, so fantasy managers might not see Sengun back on the floor unless the Rockets make a deep postseason run. The 2021 No. 16 overall pick has established himself as one of the NBA's best big men in his third year in the league. He's appeared in 63 games, amassing 21.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.2 steals, all significantly higher than last season. At any rate, while Sengun remains on the shelf, Houston could play small ball, meaning Jabari Smith Jr. would handle most of the work at the five. Jock Landale, coming off an 11-point, five-assist, two-steal showing on Tuesday versus the Spurs, should also maintain a firm grasp on a spot in the rotation.

Alperen Sengun Avoids Serious Injury
Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun (knee, ankle) suffered a scary injury during Sunday's game against the Sacramento Kings. The big man injured his leg and needed a wheelchair to help transport him back to the locker room. At first glance, it appeared Sengun suffered a significant leg injury. He has been diagnosed with a right knee bone bruise and a severely sprained right ankle. It looks like the Rockets dodged a bullet, but his timetable is still unknown right now. Jock Landale figures to be the one replacing Sengun in the starting five. Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore should also see additional minutes coming their way. Fantasy managers might want to use a wait-and-see approach right away.

Alperen Sengun Wheelchaired Off On Sunday
Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun (knee/ankle) had to be taken off the court in a wheelchair during the fourth quarter of their game against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. The up-and-coming big man seemingly suffered a bad knee injury and wasn't able to get up for a while. He ultimately couldn't put any weight on his leg which called for the wheelchair to come out. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the team will perform an MRI on both his right knee and ankle, so fantasy managers will have to stay tuned. If he has to miss extended time, the next center on the depth chart is Jock Landale. Jeff Green has also seen some minutes at center and Boban Marjanovic is their third option.

Alperen Sengun Back On The Injury Report
Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun (back) is questionable for Monday's game versus the Knicks. The 21-year-old is widely considered one of the best big men in the National Basketball Association. He missed his first game of the year on Saturday against the Hawks because of low back pain, allowing Jeff Green to enter the starting lineup. Green played well, amassing 19 points, six boards, and a block in 31 minutes of work, so he's definitely worth streaming if Sengun misses another game.

Alperen Sengun Won't Play On Saturday
Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun (back) will miss Saturday's game in Atlanta. The 21-year-old is burdened by a back issue, and he played just 21 minutes in Friday's three-point loss to the Toronto Raptors. Unfortunately, he struggled on the scoring end in that one, ending the night with just seven points. It will be Sengun's first absence of the 2023-24 campaign, and he'll now join Fred VanVleet (thigh) on the shelf. With the Rockets down, arguably their two top offensive options, Jabari Smith Jr., Jalen Green, and Amen Thompson should see more scoring chances. But it could open the door for Jeff Green and Cam Whitmore to earn a spot in fantasy lineups.

Alperen Sengun Uncertain For Friday's Game
Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun (illness) is listed as questionable ahead of Friday's game against the Toronto Raptors. Sengun has not missed a game this season, so it's unlikely that an illness is going to hold him out of this contest. The Rockets would likely be forced to be small-ball if Sengun is unable to go. That means Jabari Smith Jr. is someone who would probably benefit greatly with Segun sidelined. He'd be a fairly decent streaming choice with additional playing time. Fantasy managers will have to check back closer to tip-off for another update on his status.

Alperen Sengun Available On Monday
Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun (back) is available for Monday's game against the Golden State Warriors. This is good news after Sengun was considered a game-time decision heading into this game. Luckily, he has been cleared to play and it doesn't sound like he's going to be limited at all during this contest. He should resume his role in the starting five, while Jock Landale is the primary backup off the bench. Fantasy managers should feel safe putting Sengun back in their lineups for this game.

Alperen Sengun Remains A Game-Time Decision
Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun (back) is considered a game-time decision heading into Monday's game against the Golden State Warriors. It sounds like the big man is going to test out his back pregame and see if he's still dealing with discomfort. The Rockets have already ruled out Tari Eason (rest) so they could be shorthanded for this game. That being said, Jabari Smith Jr. could be an interesting streaming option if Sengun is forced to sit out. Also, Jalen Green and Jock Landale would be asked to do more on offense. Fantasy managers will have to check back before tip-off for another update.

Alperen Sengun Uncertain For Friday
Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun (ankle) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Sengun finds himself on the injury report due to a left ankle sprain. This doesn't sound like a long term issue, but Sengun could end up missing a game or two. Jock Landale would likely slide into the starting five if Sengun is unable to play. He'd probably see heavy minutes due to the fact the Rockets are thin at center. That being said, Landale could be an interesting streaming option if Sengun sits out.
