Austin Reaves Slated to Miss at Least One More Week

According to Khobi Price of The California Post, Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves (oblique) is expected to be sidelined at least one more week due to a Grade 2 left oblique muscle injury. Luka Doncic (hamstring) will also remain on the shelf indefinitely due to a Grade 2 left hamstring strain and both players are at risk of missing the first round of the playoffs versus Houston. In the meantime, LeBron James will continue to carry an increased offensive workload while Rui Hachimura and Marcus Smart are in line to see an uptick in scoring opportunities.

Austin Reaves Out for Remainder of Regular Season

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves (oblique) is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, meaning he is out for the remainder of the 2025-26 regular season. The Lakers announced on Saturday that Reaves has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 left oblique muscle injury. His injury is a cruel blow for the Lakers, who just lost Luka Doncic (hamstring). With the team's two top scorers out of the lineup, Lakers head coach JJ Redick plans to build the offense around LeBron James, Luke Kennard, Rui Hachimura, and Deandre Ayton. Meanwhile, Bronny James Jr. and Kobe Bufkin could begin to receive steady minutes in the backcourt.

Austin Reaves Cleared to Play Saturday

Los Angeles Lakers guard/forward Austin Reaves (hip) is available for Saturday's game against Orlando after being added to the injury report with left hip soreness. Reaves should continue handling a secondary playmaking role, though his fantasy ceiling remains tied to the presence of Luka Doncic and LeBron James. Over his last five games, he has averaged 21.8 points, 2.0 three-pointers, 4.6 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.2 steals in 40.6 minutes. He remains a solid hold in standard leagues, with fantasy managers able to rely on his consistent mid-round production.

Austin Reaves Added to Injury Report Saturday

Los Angeles Lakers guard/forward Austin Reaves (hip) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Magic due to left hip soreness, his first injury concern since February. If he sits, Jake LaRavia, Rui Hachimura, and Luke Kennard could see increased minutes. LaRavia logged 18 minutes with five points, one three-pointer, six rebounds, one assist, and one block in the last game, making him a possible deep-league streamer. Luka Doncic would likely handle more playmaking duties, while LeBron James could also see a slight usage increase. Reaves remains a must-start if cleared.

Austin Reaves Cleared to Play Thursday

Los Angeles Lakers guard/forward Austin Reaves (forearm) is available for Thursday's game against the Heat after being listed as questionable due to a right forearm contusion. Reaves finished with 14 points, eight assists, and one block in 39 minutes last game, but his 15.4 usage rate shows he takes more of a secondary role when Luka Doncic and LeBron James are both active. He remains a solid fantasy hold for assists and efficiency but carries a capped scoring ceiling. Doncic and James should continue dominating the offense.

Austin Reaves Uncertain for Thursday's Game Against the Heat

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves (forearm) was listed as questionable for Thursday's matchup in Miami, joining LeBron James (foot) and Luka Doncic (hip), who also have questionable tags. If Reaves plays and either or both of the other two stars sit, he'll have a very high ceiling against the Heat, but there's also a chance that the Lakers sit all three stars. If Reaves doesn't play, Marcus Smart, Jake LaRavia, Rui Hachimura, and Luke Kennard could step in and pick up more work. Reaves has played big minutes lately, but he has been quiet offensively, while Luka and LeBron have carried most of the work.

Austin Reaves Back in Starting Five

Los Angeles Lakers guard/forward Austin Reaves (calf) will start Friday against the Clippers after working his way back from a strained right calf that sidelined him for 19 games. The 27-year-old has appeared in five of the last six contests and is averaging 20.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.6 threes in 25.4 minutes over his last five outings. With the Lakers at full strength alongside Luka Doncic, LeBron James, and Deandre Ayton, Reaves profiles as a strong hold in standard formats, though usage may fluctuate in a balanced offense. Marcus Smart shifts back to a secondary role.

Austin Reaves Set to Return Thursday

Los Angeles Lakers guard/forward Austin Reaves (calf) will return from a one-game absence on Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks. The team has not included Reaves on the injury report. Reaves is managing a calf injury and didn't play on Tuesday night against San Antonio when the Lakers completed a back-to-back. After returning from a calf strain, Reaves has been limited to 24.8 minutes per game across four outings. He has averaged 20.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.3 steals. During Monday's matchup versus Oklahoma City, Reaves logged close to 30 minutes, which could be a sign he may soon be ready to handle his usual workload.

Austin Reaves Sidelined on Tuesday

According to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves (calf) will not play against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday. The 27-year-old will sit out the back end of a back-to-back due to left calf injury management, with his next opportunity to return coming Thursday against the Mavericks. Luka Doncic (hamstring), LeBron James (foot), and Marcus Smart (ankle) are also expected to miss Tuesday's contest. As a result, Dalton Knecht, Kobe Bufkin, Nick Smith, and Luke Kennard should be more involved in the rotation this evening.

Austin Reaves Active Tuesday, Will Come Off the Bench

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves (calf) will make his long-awaited comeback on Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets, ESPN's Dave McMenamin reports. After being listed as questionable for a couple of games, Reaves is finally ready to return from a calf injury he sustained on Christmas Day. Reaves will be under a minute restriction on Tuesday and won't start. Still, it's great to see him back in action, and it shouldn't take long for Reaves to get back up to speed. His return will affect the playing time of Marcus Smart and Gabe Vincent.
