Austin Reaves Facing Multiweek Absence With Calf Issue

Los Angeles Lakers guard/forward Austin Reaves (calf) has been diagnosed with a grade two left gastrocnemius strain and will be reevaluated in four weeks after exiting Thursday's game against the Rockets. Reaves logged 15 minutes before departing and finished with 12 points, one rebound, one assist, and one block, cutting short his usual rotation role. The Lakers' guard rotation is set to adjust during Reaves' absence, with Marcus Smart positioned for a steadier run after averaging 30.0 minutes, 10.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in prior games without Reaves.

Austin Reaves Is Available Against the Suns

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves (calf) missed the last three games with a left-calf strain, but he will be able to return to action on Tuesday against the Suns. His return is well-timed since Luka Doncic (leg) has been ruled out for the contest, giving Reaves a massive role if he's ready to pick it up. Reaves is averaging 27.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game in his 21 games this season, and he has been able to pick up even more work when Luka has been out. Now that we know that he'll play, stay tuned for any updates on whether he has any limitations.

Austin Reaves May Return on Tuesday

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves (calf) has picked up a questionable designation on the injury report ahead of Tuesday's matchup against the Phoenix Suns. He has missed three games with a left calf strain but is on the cusp of returning to the lineup. On Monday, Reaves was a limited participant at practice, and the team considers him day-to-day. Luka Doncic (leg) has been ruled out for Tuesday night, and Reaves could have a massive role on the offensive end if he plays. However, if he remains out, Nick Smith Jr. and Dalton Knecht would presumably play a larger role. The two have not been trustworthy fantasy contributors.

Austin Reaves To Be Re-Evaluated In One Week With Calf Strain

Los Angeles Lakers guard/forward Austin Reaves (calf) has been diagnosed with a mild left calf strain and will be re-evaluated in approximately one week. Reaves had been trending up with 24.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 3.0 three-pointers in 37.3 minutes over his last five games, shooting 44.6 percent from the field. Marcus Smart profiles as the top short-term add after producing 26 points in 28 minutes, while Gabe Vincent and Jake LaRavia gain only deeper-league relevance as low-ceiling depth plays

Austin Reaves Upgraded Ahead of Monday's Matchup

Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Austin Reaves (groin) has been upgraded to probable ahead of the team's Monday night matchup with the Charlotte Hornets. Reaves has been an integral piece of the team's 7-3 start to the season. He leads all Lakers with 37.9 minutes per game. The 27-year-old has averaged 31.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 9.3 assists, and 1.4 steals per game as he helps steer the ship until LeBron James (back) returns. Reaves should be started in all formats, as he continues to reward fantasy owners who took a chance on him coming into the season.

Austin Reaves Uncertain for Monday

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves (groin) is considered questionable for Monday's contest against the Charlotte Hornets. A right groin strain could keep Reaves sidelined for a fourth consecutive game. Jake LaRavia has been starting during Reaves' absence and will continue to have additional fantasy value if he remains out on Monday. Over the last three games, LaRavia has averaged 10.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.7 steals. On Monday, LaRavia's productivity may even improve, considering the Hornets are ranked 24th in defensive efficiency while playing with the fourth-fastest pace in the league.

Austin Reaves Out Again on Saturday

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves (groin) won't play on Saturday versus the Atlanta Hawks. The 27-year-old has had a phenomenal 2025 campaign thus far, averaging 31.1 points, 9.3 assists, and 1.4 steals. Unfortunately, he'll now miss his third straight game because of a groin injury. Only time will tell if he will be healthy enough to return on Monday night in Charlotte. In the meantime, Luka Doncic should handle even more of the scoring load. Marcus Smart, who had 17 points, five rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block in Wednesday's win over the San Antonio Spurs, will continue to be worth streaming in all fantasy formats.

Austin Reaves Considered Questionable for Wednesday

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves (groin) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. He could be unavailable for a second consecutive game due to a sore right groin. Early this season, Reaves has taken his game to another level, posting 31.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 9.3 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. Even with Luka Doncic back in the lineup on Sunday versus the Miami Heat, Reaves notched a 26-point, 11-assist double-double. Reaves' absence gives more playing opportunities to Jake LaRavia and Marcus Smart, who will continue to have additional fantasy value if he doesn't return on Wednesday night.

Austin Reaves Sidelined On Monday

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves (groin) won't be in uniform on Monday night when the team faces the Portland Trail Blazers. The Lakers, on the second night of a back-to-back, will also be without guard Luka Doncic (lower leg injury management). Center Deandre Ayton (back spasms) is questionable, while LeBron James (sciatica) and Gabe Vincent (ankle) remain out. It's a lengthy injury list for the Lakers, who appear content with taking a loss to the Trail Blazers. Marcus Smart should handle most of the ball-handling responsibilities. Bronny James and Nick Smith Jr. could also be involved. The bulk of the scoring responsibility will land on the shoulders of Jake LaRavia and Rui Hachimura. Reaves is averaging a career-best 31.1 points and 9.3 assists per game on the young season.

Austin Reaves Displays Smooth Scoring Abilities Against Warriors

Los Angeles Lakers guard/forward Austin Reaves put together a very efficient shooting night in the preseason win over the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. The 27-year-old finished the game with 21 points on 7-for-10 shooting overall, 2-for-4 from three, and 5-for-6 from the charity stripe. He also contributed three assists, three rebounds, one steal, and one block, but coughed up five turnovers. Reaves should be a good mid-round pickup in both points and category leagues, since he'll likely be asked to be the a top two option a lot of nights. Last season was one of his best yet with averages of 20.2 points, 5.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game.
