Cleveland Cavaliers guard Brandon Goodwin (illness) will be available for Wednesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs, according to NBA reporter Chris Fedor. Goodwin is dealing with a non-COVID illness and he had been listed as questionable going into the day. The fourth-year pro started three of the team's last four games while Darius Garland (back) was injured. He had a few good performances during the four-game stretch. However, Garland is making his return on Wednesday, which will relegate Goodwin to a limited role. The team will also see Caris LeVert make his debut on Wednesday. There's a chance that we may see Goodwin phased out of the rotation completely, or he may only see about 10 minutes of action. Either way, he's not someone worth a look for fantasy purposes at this point.
Atlanta Hawks guard Brandon Goodwin (ankle) is questionable ahead of Wednesday's matchup against the 76ers. Goodwin suffered a left ankle injury on Monday against the Detroit Pistons. Although he didn't appear to suffer any long-term damage, he may end up sitting against Philadelphia. With the team also down Trae Young (ankle) and potentially Kevin Huerter (shoulder), the primary ball-handling duties may lay in the hands of Kris Dunn, who just recently returned to the lineup after missing the entire season due to ankle surgery.
Brandon Goodwin Earns Questionable Tag For Wednesday
When Atlanta Hawks point guard Brandon Goodwin (ankle) was taken from the floor in a wheelchair Monday, a lengthy absence seemed imminent. But according to the team's injury report, Goodwin is just listed as questionable to play Wednesday versus Philadelphia due to a left ankle impingement. With Trae Young (ankle) down due to an ankle sprain, Goodwin has been relied upon to log hefty minutes, including making his fourth start of the year Monday. Check back prior to tip-off to see if the Hawks will have Goodwin at their disposal or else Lou Williams, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Kris Dunn appear destined to share ball-handling duties.
Brandon Goodwin Requires Wheelchair To Depart Monday’s Game
Atlanta Hawks point guard Brandon Goodwin (foot/ankle) was taken from the court on a wheelchair during Monday's contest against Detroit due to a significant left foot/ankle injury. Goodwin immediately went down in apparent serious pain, ending his fourth start of the season unceremoniously. Prior to his exit, he went just 3-for-14 from the field across 28 minutes, seeing a sizable minutes bump due to Trae Young's (ankle) injury. While the Hawks got Kris Dunn (ankle) back Monday, they'll be extremely thin at the PG spot for the time being. Check back for updates on Goodwin as they become available.
