Drew Eubanks, CJ Elleby Questionable For Sunday’s Game
Portland Trail Blazers center Drew Eubanks (wrist) and small/power forward CJ Elleby (illness) have been tagged as questionable to suit up for Sunday's contest vs. Utah. With the Blazers already tremendously short-handed, absences from either Eubanks or Elleby would present Reggie Perry, Elijah Hughes, and others with significant frontcourt roles. Eubanks has emerged as a legitimate fantasy commodity down the stretch, having averaged 14.5 points and 8.5 boards across his 22 starts with Portland, all while shooting 64.6% overall. Elleby has averaged 28 minutes on a nightly basis since the All-Star break, but he has shot just 37.7% from the field in that span, capping his ceiling.
CJ Elleby, Dennis Smith Jr. Available On Wednesday
Portland Trail Blazers guards CJ Elleby (ankle) and Dennis Smith Jr. (ankle) will be available for Wednesday's game against the Miami Heat. The Blazers are finally getting healthy, so neither of these players have too much value. Elleby is likely only going to play minutes in the teens going forward. Smith has shown flashes during this season, but is behind Anfernee Simons on the depth chart. That being said, neither are trustworthy streaming options for Wednesday's slate. Both are likely going to slide back into their rotational roles with minutes in the teens or possibly low 20s.
Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard/small forward CJ Elleby (illness) will miss Thursday's game against the 76ers due to an illness. Elleby scored a career-high 15 points last Thursday when the two teams faced off, but that came with Damian Lillard unavailable, which opened up additional upside for all healthy Blazers. Aside from that showing, Elleby is yet to log double-digit minutes in any contest this year, making him a fantasy non-entity except for when Portland is significantly short-handed. His next chance to play comes Friday versus Cleveland, but his presence doesn't figure to be a significant fantasy factor.
