Cooper Flagg to Remain on Minutes Limit

Dallas Mavericks guard Cooper Flagg will remain on a minutes limit ahead of Thursday's game against the Golden State Warriors. Flagg made his return to the court during Monday's game versus the New York Knicks. He finished with 18 points, three assists, and seven rebounds across 28 minutes during that contest. The Mavs plan to be more cautious with Flagg during Thursday's game and keep him in the 20-to-25-minute range. His fantasy value is going to be limited, given he won't have a full workload yet. Ryan Nembhard and Brandon Williams could see a few extra minutes during Thursday's game.

Cooper Flagg Out, Max Christie Available on Saturday

Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Cooper Flagg (ankle) won't play on Saturday versus the Utah Jazz. It will be the former Duke Blue Devil's second absence since injuring his ankle during Wednesday's loss to the Chicago Bulls. With Flagg, Anthony Davis (finger), Daniel Gafford (ankle), and D'Angelo Russell (illness) all out, the Mavs should get increased production from Naji Marshall, Klay Thompson, and Max Christie (illness), who is available after missing the last two games, in a meeting with a Jazz team that has struggled defensively all season.

Cooper Flagg Doubtful on Saturday

Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Cooper Flagg (ankle) isn't expected to play on Saturday versus Utah. The rookie sprained his ankle during Wednesday's loss to the Chicago Bulls and didn't suit up for Thursday's meeting with the Jazz. Brandon Williams entered the starting lineup in that one, finishing with 18 points. Of course, others benefited as well, with Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall, and Jaden Hardy combining for 63 points.

Cooper Flagg Sidelined Thursday

Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Cooper Flagg (ankle) won't suit up against the Utah Jazz on Thursday. Flagg left Wednesday's loss early and will sit out the evening due to a sprained left ankle. Without Flagg, Anthony Davis (finger) and P.J. Washington (ankle), a depleted Mavs rotation will rely on Brandon Williams, Jaden Hardy, Ryan Nembhard, Caleb Martin, and Naji Marshall to carry heavier workloads during tonight's tilt.

Cooper Flagg Is Unlikely To Play Thursday Against Utah

Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Cooper Flagg (ankle) left Wednesday's loss early with a sprained left ankle and is officially listed as doubtful for the second game of his team's back-to-back on Thursday night against the Jazz. Without Flagg and Anthony Davis (finger), P.J. Washington (ankle) could be in for a big workload if he can play through his own questionable tag, while Brandon Williams, Jaden Hardy, Ryan Nembhard, Caleb Martin, and Naji Marshall should all get more minutes and usage. Both teams will roll out depleted rotations on Thursday, creating a ton of potential value plays on both sides of this contest. Williams is the primary place to start, but there will be plenty of work to go around.

Cooper Flagg Exits With Ankle Injury Wednesday Night

Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Cooper Flagg (ankle) was limited to 15 minutes of action in Wednesday's loss to the Denver Nuggets, exiting the game early with a left ankle sprain. Flagg injured his ankle midway through the second quarter. He was initially able to return, but Dallas ruled him out for the rest of the contest early in the third quarter. It was the second straight game that Flagg twisted the ankle. He was able to finish Monday's win over the Brooklyn Nets after getting his ankle retaped. The Mavericks have a short turnaround, facing the Utah Jazz on Thursday night. Flagg's early exit from Wednesday's game leaves him questionable for the matchup. Ryan Nembhard started the second half in Flagg's place on Wednesday and could have a larger role against Utah.

Cooper Flagg Available Monday

Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Cooper Flagg (back) will play on Monday against the Denver Nuggets. He was initially iffy for the contest after picking up a questionable tag on the injury report. Flagg has been improving each week during his rookie campaign and recently became the youngest player in NBA history to score 40-plus points in a single game, just a few days before his 19th birthday. He is averaging 24.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.0 steals this month.

Cooper Flagg Questionable for Monday's Action

Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Cooper Flagg (back) could miss his second game of the season on Monday, as the team has listed him as questionable for a matchup against the struggling New Orleans Pelicans. The exciting rookie is nursing a back contusion. Dallas begins the week with a back-to-back, so it appears likely that Flagg will miss at least one game. Klay Thompson (knee) and Max Christie (illness) are also considered questionable for Monday night, which could lead to D'Angelo Russell and Jaden Hardy having much larger roles in the rotation.

Cooper Flagg Becomes Youngest 40-Point Scorer in NBA History

Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Cooper Flagg had a special night on Monday, becoming the youngest player in NBA history to score 40-plus points in a game. He led all scorers with 42 points on 13-for-27 shooting in a 140-133 overtime loss. Flagg, who will turn 19 on Sunday, also had seven rebounds, six assists, one steal, and two blocks in the contest. He went 15-for-20 at the charity stripe and shot 1-for-4 from downtown. Previously, the highest points total by an 18-year-old in the NBA was 37, set by LeBron James in 2003. Although Flagg has struggled with consistency at times in his rookie year, he has still had a strong overall season. Across his first 26 career appearances, Flagg has averaged 18.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.

Cooper Flagg Listed as Available on Friday

Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg (thumb) will play with a splint on his right thumb and has been listed as available for the team's NBA Cup matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday. He was forced to miss one game on Wednesday, but luckily, he is already set to return. It remains to be seen if the splint affects his game. Through 15 games of his rookie season, Flagg is averaging 15.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.3 steals, 2.2 turnovers, and 1.1 threes per contest with shooting splits of .455/.293/.783.
