The veteran guard missed Sunday's regular-season finale against the Hawks due to a knee issue, but he is not on the injury report for Tuesday's play-in game. Joseph finished the regular season as Orlando's starting point guard and figures to continue in the role during the postseason. Across 16 starts in 2024-25, Joseph has averaged 6.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 22.5 minutes.

Head coach Steve Kerr expects Joseph to be able to play in a preseason game and is hopeful that McGruder can do the same. The latter is already in the later stages of the concussion protocol so his return is closer on the horizon. Both of them are still battling for backup roles, so they'll both need as many opportunities as they can get. Neither one should be fantasy-relevant in any league format.

The 12-year veteran decided to withdraw so that he could focus on preparation for his season with the Warriors. Joseph hasn't been on a playoff team since the 2018-19 season with the Indiana Pacers. If he sits out on Thursday, second-year guard Killian Hayes stands to benefit. Hayes played 33 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's game and racked up 13 points, four rebounds, three assists, four steals and a block. Frank Jackson, Rodney McGruder and newly-signed guard Braxton Key could also see additional playing time if Joseph is out.

Honestly, his availability could depend on the status of Killian Hayes (head) who is listed as probable. The Pistons would likely give Joseph the night off, assuming Hayes can play.
