Danilo Gallinari Remains Hopeful Of New NBA Deal

Italian veteran Danilo Gallinari is without a contract for next season but still hopes to earn a new NBA deal. "A return to Italy? Not yet," he said in an interview with Italian news outlet La Repubblica. "There is still time for (me in) the market, anything can happen at any time. Miami? It's not my time yet, there are other free agents and we'll decide later. It could be anywhere, as long as it's a competitive franchise." Gallinari, who turned 36 at the start of August, spent the 2023-24 campaign with three teams. Following stints in Washington and Detroit, he finished the season with the Milwaukee Bucks. It looks like Gallinari wants to land on another contender. However, he will have zero fantasy value if that's the case. Last season, Gallinari posted only 2.8 points and 1.1 rebounds across 9.1 minutes in Milwaukee.

Danilo Gallinari Traded To Detroit

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pistons acquired Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala from the Wizards in exchange for Marvin Bagley III, Isaiah Livers, and two second-round picks. The No. 6 overall pick of the 2008 NBA Draft has suited up for the Knicks, Nuggets, Clippers, Thunder, and Hawks before becoming a Wizard. He's appeared in 754 regular season games, averaging 15.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and shooting 38.1% from deep. Still, Gallinari isn't nearly as productive as he used to be, and he's also battled various ailments over the years. There's a chance he'll draw streaming attention at some point moving ahead. However, the 35-year-old isn't worth adding in any fantasy format unless he gets consistent playing time, which doesn't appear likely.

Danilo Gallinari Questionable Wednesday

Washington Wizards forward Danilo Gallinari (back) is considered questionable for Wednesday's matchup against Cleveland. The veteran is having trouble with a lower back spasm. This season has been a comeback campaign for Gallinari after he missed the entire 2022-23 with a knee injury. He's averaged 14.8 minutes for the rebuilding Wizards, recording 7.0 points and 2.9 rebounds. He's already been unavailable for two games, which has allowed Mike Muscala to log meaningful minutes. He's done well in the outings, but Muscala definitely isn't somebody fantasy managers should rush to grab.

Danilo Gallinari Resting On Monday

Washington Wizards forward Danilo Gallinari (rest) has been ruled out of Monday's contest against the Toronto Raptors while he gets a rest day. The 35-year-old missed all of last season with an ACL tear and the Wizards have slowly gotten him involved in each of their nine games so far. He's currently averaging 8.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists across 14.4 minutes per game. He's most valuable in much deeper fantasy leagues but while he watches from the sidelines, Landry Shamet and either Patrick Baldwin Jr. or Johnny Davis could see some time off of the bench. Shamet would be the one that presents the least amount of risk.

Danilo Gallinari Ready For Minutes As Center

Washington Wizards forward Danilo Gallinari is open to logging minutes as a center if needed. The team will need extra help in the position, with starting center Daniel Gafford (elbow) ruled out for several weeks. "Whatever needs to be out on the court, whatever position I need to play, I just want to play basketball. So any position is good," Gallinari said when asked about his willingness to play as a center. The 35-year-old is clearly hungry to just get on the court after missing the entire 2022-23 season with a knee injury. Gallinari has been a productive player throughout his career when healthy, but he isn't expected to play a large role this season with the Wizards in rebuild mode.

Danilo Gallinari Joins Wizards In Trade

The Washington Wizards acquired Danilo Gallinari from the Boston Celtics in a three-team trade on Wednesday. The Italian veteran moves on from Beantown after just one season and without making a single appearance for the team. Gallinari signed a two-year, $13.3 million deal with the Celtics last offseason but tore his left ACL in September while playing for his country. The 34-year-old has been a productive player throughout his NBA career, but it's currently unclear if he has a role to play for the rebuilding Wizards. The knee injury also leaves plenty of question marks regarding Gallinari's ability to still perform at a high level.

Danilo Gallinari Expected To Be Involved In Three-Team Trade

Boston Celtics forward Danilo Gallinari might not get a chance to even suit up for Boston. The 34-year-old signed with the organization last offseason, but missed the entire season due to a torn ACL. He recently accepted his $6.8 million player option for next season, but it probably won't be in Boston. Recent reports are saying Gallinari is likely to be included in a blockbuster three-team trade. The Celtics, Washington Wizards, and Los Angeles Clippers are in advanced talks regarding a trade centered around big man Kristaps Porzingis. The expectation is that Gallinari is likely going to be sent to Washington in order to match salaries. It's uncertain if the Wizards would even keep Gallinari or attempt to buy him out. If he stays, it's tough to imagine him having a ton of minutes on a rebuilding Wizards roster.

Danilo Gallinari May Provide "Crucial Lift" For Boston

Boston Celtics forward Danilo Gallinari (knee) could have a more prominent role this season, with Jake Fischer of Yahoo.com expecting him to provide a "crucial lift" for the club. Gallinari, who didn't last year because of a torn ACL, picked up his $6.8 million player option. He's bounced around since entering the league in 2008, making stops in New York, Denver, Los Angeles (Clippers), OKC, and Atlanta, averaging 15.6 points and 4.7 rebounds. Gallinari is also a 38.2% shooter from deep, and with Boston potentially losing Grant Williams (hand) and Malcolm Brogdon, he may be more valuable for fantasy managers than initially expected, even if he comes off the bench. Unfortunately, his inability to stay healthy has been an issue over the years.

Danilo Gallinari Accepts Player Option

Boston Celtics forward Danilo Gallinari has decided to exercise his $6.8 million player option for the 2023-24 season. The 34-year-old missed the entirety of last season after suffering a torn left ACL during a FIBA qualifying game for Italy. Before that, Gallinari signed a two-year, $13.3 million deal with Boston. It was unlikely that Gallinari would have much value in free agency after missing all of last season. That being said, it's no surprise that he decided to accept his player option. His role in Boston will likely be determined on how the offseason goes for the Celtics. It remains to be seen what he has left in the tank after this significant injury.

Danilo Gallinari Likely Done For The Year

Boston Celtics forward Danilo Gallinari (knee) isn't expected to play this season. The veteran suffered a left knee injury during a FIBA World Cup qualifying game. At the time, it was believed Gallinari tore his meniscus. However, upon further testing, he's dealing with a torn ACL, which is much worse. Although the 34-year-old hopes to get on the floor this season, it's not looking promising. Nevertheless, without Gallinari in the lineup, Grant Williams and Sam Hauser will be the likely benefactors on the fantasy end. There have also been rumblings that the C's are interested in free agent Carmelo Anthony or making a move to acquire Jazz forward Rudy Gay.
