Jae'Sean Tate News
Houston Rockets small forward Jae'Sean Tate (back) is likely to start in the team's preseason game against the Toronto Raptors on Monday. Tate has been dealing with a sore back and he wasn't able to play in the team's most recent preseason game this past Thursday. The 25-year-old is coming off of a fantastic rookie year. He played about 29 minutes per game last year and averaged 11.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 50.6% from the field. He's a great late-round target in fantasy leagues this fall as he should provide solid stats across the board.
Houston Rockets center Christian Wood (ankle) and shooting guard/small forward Jae'sean Tate (knee) have been ruled out for Friday's contest, putting the team in a massively short-handed scenario. Injuries have eviscerated Houston's roster to wrap up the year, with Wood and Tate figuring to be two future pieces that the team hopes to keep as healthy as possible. It has been a breakout year for Wood, who has averaged 21 points and 9.6 boards per game, while Tate has played his way into All-Rookie team consideration with 11.2 PPG on 51.3 percent shooting overall. Danuel House Jr. and Kelly Olynyk are two names to target for offensive upside, but with just eight players active, any Rocket seems to have DFS intrigue.
Houston Rockets forward Jae'sean Tate had a good scoring night against the Grizzlies on Monday, finishing with 24 points on 9-for-18 shooting. He sank three triples with nine attempts and added three points from the foul line with perfect shooting. Tate also pulled down seven rebounds and handed out one assist. The 25-year-old rookie generally doesn't do much on the offensive end, but he has produced three 20-point outings over the last couple of weeks. He's become the glue guy in the starting five with his ability to do a little bit of everything. Tate is also one of the best defenders on the roster, so his work responsibilities will include slowing down James Harden next as the Rockets will visit the Beard and the Nets on Wednesday.
Houston Rockets forward Jae'sean Tate led the team in scoring with 22 points in Monday's win over Toronto, shooting a near-perfect 8-for-9 from the field. His only miss came from a three-pointer. Tate had three treys, but his work at the foul line could've been better as he finished 3-for-6 with his free throws. The 25-year-old rookie had a busy 40 minutes, adding six rebounds, five assists, and two steals to his line. Tate has been an efficient shooter in his first year in the league, but he averages just around 10 points a night, so don't expect him to repeat his Monday's performance anytime soon. He does, however, have good all-around skills, which make him an attractive fantasy piece.
