Indiana Pacers point guard T.J. McConnell (illness) and power forward James Johnson (elbow) have been deemed questionable to play in Monday's game against the Warriors. McConnell would be in line for a sizable workload if cleared with Tyrese Haliburton (groin) -- the league's leading assists man -- down for the time being; if McConnell is held out, Andrew Nembhard would have sizable DFS appeal due to his low price tag and the Pacers' thin backcourt. McConnell has yet to draw a start this season but already has two double-digit assist games under his belt. Johnson has played sparingly as a reserve, averaging just 1.9 PPG. Fantasy managers will want to check back on McConnell's status prior to tip-off.
The Brooklyn Nets have waived veteran forward James Johnson. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the move was made in order for the team to convert the contract of forward Kessler Edwards to a standard contract ahead of the playoffs. Johnson had been sidelined for the team's last two games due to a non-COVID illness. He played in 62 games for the Nets this year, starting 10 of them. He averaged 5.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. We'll see if another team reaches out to him ahead of the 2021-22 playoffs.

It marks Johnson's second consecutive absence due to an illness, which opens up more minutes and rebounding opportunities among the second unit for Nicolas Claxton and Kessler Edwards. More valued for his on-ball defense and savvy veteran play, Johnson isn't much of a fantasy commodity despite his consistent role. His next chance to return to action comes Friday vs. Cleveland.

Brown could have a significant role in the offense with Kevin Durant (ankle) tagged as questionable. Fantasy managers should consider Brown as a streaming option for Tuesday's slate.
