The Warriors waived guard Langston Galloway on Saturday. The journeyman appeared in three preseason outings for Golden State, logging just 3.3 points throughout nearly nine minutes per game. After averaging just over 10 points throughout the 2019-20 campaign during his final year in Detroit, Langston's production dropped significantly in Phoenix last season. Although it's foreseeable that he ends up on another team, he isn't worthy of a fantasy selection. Still, he could get a spot-start during the upcoming season, assuming he signs with another club, so there could be some streaming potential moving ahead.
Detroit Pistons guard Langston Galloway contributed 14 points, three rebounds, one block, and two steals in 25 minutes during the 111-105 loss to the Jazz on Saturday. Lacking firepower with guys like Derrick Rose (ankle) and Luke Kennard (knee) out, the fifth-year player stepped up in a modest way. From a fantasy perspective, he remains too inconsistent. His up-and-down numbers do all the talking as he has scored in double digits six of the past 11 games. Though playing against the Knicks on Sunday is an inviting matchup, it's best to keep modest expectations for the 28-year-old.
Langston Galloway, Luke Kennard Questionable on Monday
Detroit Pistons guards Langston Galloway (illness) and Luke Kennard (illness) are questionable for Monday's game against the Indiana Pacers. Galloway was unable to attend shootaround and his status is looking closer to doubtful. Ish Smith and Bruce Brown Jr. would play more without Galloway. Kennard was able to participate in shootaround, so hopefully he's able to suit up. Otherwise,Wayne Ellington would have some upside in DFS contests.
Detroit Pistons point/shooting guard Langston Galloway was instant offense off the bench during Fridays win over the Los Angeles Lakers, collecting 23 points on 8-for-10 shooting, including 4-for-6 from deep. The 33 minutes that Galloway received was his most in a contest since Dec. 9. Entering the All-Star break, he was shooting 32.5 percent from deep on the year. In the 12 games since, he has shot 57.4 percent from downtown, giving him 11.3 points per game through his first eight March contests. The wings are getting crowded for Detroit, but owners who need threes in season-long fantasy category leagues are best served keeping watching on Galloway and his minutes total Sunday versus Toronto.
Detroit Pistons point/shooting guard Langston Galloway made his first start of the season during Wednesdays loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in place of Reggie Bullock (ankle). Despite getting the nod, Galloway played just 23 minutes and finished with five points on 2-for-5 shooting. It was a wholly disappointing night for DFS owners who were banking on Galloway reaping starters benefits, but the nature of the loss likely didnt help his cause. Keep an eye on Bullocks status for Fridays game against the Philadelphia 76ers, in which Galloway could earn his second straight start should the former be sidelined.
Detroit Pistons point/shooting guard Langston Galloway was shooting early and often during Mondays win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Galloway took 11 shots in his 29 minutes off the bench, 10 of which came from behind the three-point line. Unfortunately for his stat line, just two of those went in, as he finished with six points, three rebounds and two assists. Dont expect Galloway to stop shooting anytime soon, as he has attempted at least five threes in each of his last six games.
Detroit Pistons shooting guard Langston Galloway had a tremendous outing Monday against the Miami Heat. Galloway scored 21 points on seven of fifteen shooting with four of those baskets coming from downtown. This was only the second game for Galloway scoring in double figures but also two contests in a row scoring ten points or more. So fantasy players in extremely deep season-long leagues need to monitor his production to see if this scoring production is just an aberration or a trend.
Detroit Pistons guard Langston Galloway got 20 minutes of action with Reggie Bullock (ankle) sidelined and poured in 13 points as he was just one of two Pistons players (Blake Griffin being the other) to score in double digits on Saturday. Galloway did not add anything else except a make from three to add to his hollow line. Galloway will continue to get some extra run with Bullock out and is worth a look as a flier in DFS on the cheap.
Detroit Pistons guard Langston Galloway continued his poor play versus the Boston Celtics on Saturday night. Galloway contributed two points, three rebounds and one block in a season-low 17 minutes. He shot 1-for-6 from the field and 0-for-5 from beyond the arc in the game. The 26-year-old combination guard still has not reached double figures and he is shooting just 33.3 percent from the field as well as 15.0 percent from beyond the arc. It is hard to imagine Galloway, who is a minus-6.8 in plus/minus ratings, will continue to get significant minutes. Until he shows that he can contribute anything meaningful, fantasy owners should avoid Galloway.
Langston Galloway Explodes For 24 Points Off The Bench
Detroit Pistons guard Langston Galloway had the hot hand on Monday against Brooklyn, finishing with 24 points in 36 minutes off the bench. He went 9-for-17 from the field and 4-for-8 from behind the arc. The fourth-year guard also recorded two rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Galloway hasn't really been fantasy relevant after his solid rookie year in New York, which had him scoring 11.8 points per game in 32.4 minutes, but he's occasionally proved that he can bring it scoring-wise. With a new coach in town, everybody has a clean slate and it's possible that Galloway can carve out a bigger role for himself. He averaged less than 15 minutes per game in 2017-18.
