According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Memphis Grizzlies released power forward Mamadi Diakite on Tuesday. Memphis acquired Diakite in the off-season from the Nets for 22-year-old forward Ziaire Williams. Last season, Diakite suited up for six games for the Knicks and Spurs, averaging 2.0 points and 0.7 rebounds. The 27-year-old free agent will not factor into fantasy should he land another NBA contract going into training camp.
Mamadi Diakite Will Join Starting Five For Cleveland
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Mamadi Diakite will be the one receiving a spot-start instead of Isaac Okoro against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. This is a very surprising turn of events after the team will be without Jarrett Allen and Lamar Stevens again. Both Caris LeVert and Cedi Osman will continue to come off of the bench and Okoro looks like he might have entered the doghouse. His 1-for-11 shooting night in his last start probably didn't help. Instead, Diakite will get his fourth career start, but he's not recommended as a streaming option in any format.
