Markelle Fultz News
Orlando Magic guard Markelle Fultz (knee) will not be ready for the regular season opener versus the San Antonio Spurs. It doesn't sound like he suffered a setback, but the organization wants to be cautious with their young guard. Fultz had surgery nearly 11 months ago, so it's a bit odd that he's not ready to play yet, There is certainly plenty of upside with Fultz, but the injuries make him a big risk. He'll be a possible late-round option in 12-team formats.
Orlando Magic guard Markelle Fultz (knee) left Wednesday night's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers and will not return. Fultz landed on his knee awkwardly and had trouble walking, clutching his left knee almost immediately after landing. Hopefully it looked worse than it actually was, but this could be a serious knee injury for Fultz, who was in the midst of a career-year. Rookie point guard Cole Anthony will likely take over the starting position if Fultz misses time and is an add in 12-team leagues.
Orlando Magic guard Markelle Fultz notched his first double-double of the season in a 118-107 win over the Thunder. Fultz shot just 4 of 16 from the field, his worst shooting performance so far- though he impressively had 10 assists and no turnovers, numbers that helped to mask his poor shooting. The former number-one overall pick is off to a strong start to the season, with averages of 18.3 points and 5.8 assists per game in four contests. Fultz will get a chance for some revenge against his former team, the 76ers, who allowed less than 15 points to him in each of their three meetings last season.
Orlando Magic point guard Markelle Fultz continued his early season success in a win Sunday night against the Washington Wizards. Fultz was stellar in this one, securing the third straight win for Orlando with 26 points on 11-for-21 shooting, two rebounds, two assists, two three-pointers and a steal in 29 minutes. Fultz came into the year with a ton of hype and has lived up to it with season averages of 20.7 points on 49.0 percent shooting, 4.3 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 29.7 minutes per game. Fultz will look to continue his hot streak when they visit the young core of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder will be coming off the first leg of a back-to-back which could lead to some fatigue.
