Jeremy Lamb, Maurice Harkless Questionable For Saturday
Sacramento Kings small forward Jeremy Lamb (hip) and power forward Maurice Harkless (ankle) have been deemed questionable to suit up for Saturday's game against Utah. Lamb has missed the past three outings, while Harkless has been down the past six. Prior to his hip ailment, Lamb had carved out a solid role among the second unit, albeit while scuffling from the field (35.3% overall). Harkless has started the past 10 contests that he has appeared, although it remains to be seen how he fits into the new-look Kings rotation. Fantasy managers will want to check back prior to tip-off to get the final word as Lamb and/or Harkless returning would stand to shift the club's minutes around.
Maurice Harkless Returns Saturday, Draws Starting Duties
Sacramento Kings power forward Maurice Harkless (ankle) has been given the green light to take the floor for Saturday's game against the Wizards. Harkless missed one outing due to a sprained right ankle, with his return pushing Chimezie Metu back to the second unit. The veteran kicked off February with a strong three-game stretch that saw him score in double figures each time out, although his DFS ceiling remains capped due to the team's crowded frontcourt.
Harrison Barnes, Maurice Harkless Practice On Monday
Sacramento Kings forwards Harrison Barnes (foot) and Maurice Harkless (knee) both were able to practice on Monday. Barnes has missed five straight games, while Harkless has missed the last four contests. Their absence has allowed Chimezie Metu to move into the starting five. Also, Marvin Bagley III has been getting extended playing time with the second unit. The Kings don't play again until Wednesday, so Barnes and Harkless have time to rest and prepare. Fantasy managers should check back on Wednesday for another update.
Sacramento Kings forward Maurice Harkless (hip) is questionable to play against the Utah Jazz on Friday. Harkless started in the season opener on Wednesday and likely got banged up in his 22 minutes of play. Harkless does not have much fantasy appeal, even as a starter, but his absence would likely pave the way to more minutes for Buddy Hield and Terence Davis. Hield played well in the opener, scoring 17 points and hitting four threes in 30 minutes off the bench.
Miami Heat forward Maurice Harkless (thigh) went through his first full practice since suffering a thigh injury on January 23rd. Harkless was cleared to return last Thursday against the Houston Rockets, but did not play in that game or Saturday against the Utah Jazz. This was likely due to Harkless getting back to speed and the news about practice could bode well for his availability this week. However, Harkless is not on the fantasy radar with Kelly Olynyk starting and could even be a trade piece for the Heat as we near the trade deadline.
Miami Heat small/power forward Maurice Harkless (thigh) has been given the thumbs up to play in Thursday's game against the Rockets, marking a return to action for the first time since Jan. 23. Harkless has combined for just 12 points across his first nine contests, an indication of the minimal role that he has played in spite of having made three starts. While his return could cut fractionally into the minutes allotments of Andre Iguodala and Precious Achiuwa, Miami's second unit frontcourt holds marginal season-long fantasy appeal, even in deeper-sized formats.
Miami Heat forward Maurice Harkless (thigh) is questionable to play Thursday against the Houston Rockets. Harkless has not played since January 23rd with a thigh contusion, but has joined Miami on their upcoming road trip and could make a return this week. Harkless was on the fringe of the rotation when playing so there is not much fantasy value here unless there is a major injury to one of the starters.
Miami Heat forward Maurice Harkless (forearm) will not suit up Wednesday against the Boston Celtics. Harkless started the season opener, but has since be well outside the normal rotation. His injury will not impact much, but Kelly Olynyk will get his second-straight start and is looking like a speculative in add in season-long leagues. Olynyk posted 19 points on 7-for-9 shooting and eight rebounds in a start Monday and has played at least 25 minutes in four straight games. He won't shoot this well, but Olynyk is a good source of threes from the forward position.
Maurice Harkless Picks Up Questionable Tag For Wednesday
Miami Heat small/power forward Maurice Harkless (forearm) has been deemed questionable to play in Wednesday's game versus Boston due to a left forearm contusion. Harkless has started two games for the Heat this year, but has not seen more than nine minutes in any of his last five outings. Averaging fewer than one point, rebound, and assist on a nightly basis, Harkless' fantasy appeal is bordering on non-existent despite continually cracking the rotation. An absence from Harkless would likely open up a handful of additional minutes for Andre Iguodala or Precious Achiuwa, both of whom would be risky DFS assets in their own right.
New York Knicks forward Maurice Harkless (illness) is available for Wednesday's game against the Washington Wizards. He was traded to the Knicks on Thursday, but has not made his team debut yet. He's worth taking a look at in deep leagues, but fantasy owners shouldn't expect big results from him. Kevin Knox should lose some minutes with Harkless in the mix, but he wasn't doing much on the court anyway.
